Norris v.v. lucky earlier and now Red Bull have been fucked over. None of this matters of course as the race will be rained off.

Pirelli really need to lose the contract, Goodyear, Bridgestone and Michelin all made tyres that worked in the wet.

Enough of this bullshit, manufactured, tyre degradation. It doesn't do anything for the sport to have drivers not being able to push for more than a lap at a time and the inability to race in the wet is unacceptable.

Max had a rough month with bad luck, bad calls and some dangerous driving. I felt the championship might slip through his hands if this streak would continue and the 17th place start + the sprint race penalty didn't make things better. Ofcourse, some things like pushing Norris off 2 times was on him, but other situations were questionable.

Today he basically told everyone to sit the fuck down. I think this display showed why is the champion, and regarded as one of the best drivers of all time. As for the championship itself, I think its in the bag. Ofcourse, freak accidents could always happen but he can basically net zero points in 2 out of 3 GPs. And this feat barely happens.

The difference between Lando and Max is that Max seizes it, not matter how small the odds. He is merciless, like Ham in his prime. Lando doesn't, and he lacks experience compared to Max. I don't know who else on the grid has this trait. It does seem that Lando, Charles, Piastri etc are lacking, they aren't dickheads enough.

If Max had that McLaren car and points gap, I am fairly certain he would go on winning most of the races and take the title.

The best race of the season since Canada. Took ages to be exciting again.
McLaren & Norris really made mistakes there. Pressure is a little too much for now. Maybe next season.

Max is unbeatable in the rain.

Just so he could close the gap with ease and then continue to drive the fastest lap 5 times in a row.

Lol, then how didn’t Ocon win?
Because his car is garbage in the drying conditions.

Max also wouldn't have won if lando and Russel didn't pit.

Hardly a masterclass this one. Not saying he's not drove great in the wet before, because he has, but he was hardly unbeatable yesterday, he got lucky.

Nobody else would drive from 17 to 1. Masterclass it is.

He doesn't have the best car. Ofcourse he needs some forces from outside to help him atm. But you have to give it to the team, they didn't pit early because you can pretty much wait for a red flag to happen in these conditions. Max and RB gambled and won. But by then he had taken a lot of names already. Even if he would finish behind Lando and George it would still be a masterclass coming from 17.

To put it simply, he took it. And now he pretty much locked the championship down. Norris I saw fucking up corners and driving sloppy, so much for a contender. On top of that, Max has no team mate on the front row. Perez can basically never help him.

I can't stand Verstappen.

It absolutely was a masterclass. Been watching this shit for 30 years, and that was up there as a championship defining performance. His consistency was mindblowing. He didn't put a foot wrong. It reminded me of Senna. Probably his best drive.

The little shit :messenger_grinning_squinting:

When the track was drenched, Ocon stood out as the fastest driver by far. Just look at the throttle application shown in this picture: Ocon displayed clinical precision with his acceleration, while Max was less consistent and noticeably slower. Naturally, once the track dried up, the Red Bull's superior pace became evident. Still a great performance from Max (and Gasly who climbed from 13th to 3rd.)

I'm glad for Max, that was an enjoyable season seeing him fighting again in an inferior car and delivering 110% of its potential. McLaren still has a good chance to win the championship. Absolutely crazy with how just a year ago they were among the backmarkers.

Next season will be awesome. No more Red Bull domination and a good chance to see 4 teams fighting for both championships, rather than trying to catch Red Bull.
