Forza Horizon 5 Launches April 29 on PS5 | Early Access Starts April 25 with the Premium Edition

I don't doubt it. What a delusional bunch. There was the Phil email to Satya as well.

DF also confirmed that Xbox dubbed Series X as their mid-gen refresh, and they thought PS5 would compete with the Series S. They'd have indeed thought that PS5 would compete with Series S, and PS5 Pro would compete with Series X, but that's so stupid.
I can understand thinking that series X would perform better than ps5( in straightforward on paper specs, it does seem more powerful) but surely they didn't think series S would compete with ps5? Even on paper, ps5 is far more powerful.

Or is it just one of Phil's balls in my throat?
The game seems to be topping the preorder charts on ps in various regions.

I wish XBOX would just keep their trash over there.

I chalk that up to controversy/novelty/hype. Every MS game that gets announced for other systems will benefit from internet console war hype and no publicity is bad publicity. MS knows this which is why they are ok with stuff releasing as early access to stir the pot even more. I understand why they're doing it, but I don't like it.

No physical sucks and early access is just...weird. That said it's still worth the price as it still looks and plays amazing being one of if not the best open world simcade racer. I've got them all except for FH1 and I've yet to find something similar enough that scratches that itch as well as the FH series does. I do hope it eventually gets more stuff like what the Crew does with boats, planes, and motorcycles.

Have said this before but MS was well into looking into their own mid gen refresh until they got the specs on the Pro and they killed their own refresh because they honestly felt Sony was making the Pro just to compete with the Series X
This just doesn't make sense. The 12tflop series x didn't run away with a performance gap over the 9tflop ps5 back at launch.

Yet Microsoft cancelled a midgen offering because the ps5 pro was going to compete against the series x, which the base ps5 was already doing just fine at?

The more obvious answer in why there is no midgen offering from Microsoft is because the sales of the series gen have flatlined, so there is no momentum pushing for a new series z. Satya simply didn't greenlight another billion dollar hardware adventure. Despite reassuring words from Sarah Bond and Phil etc.

they didn't know that at gen-start as clearly seen in phil's hype emails of a win to satya. they (and multiple other fools including df) thought they had a clear performance advantage by going just tflop figures

They looked at those very numbers and thought the would win by default before the consoles ever launched and when they saw the 16 ish TFs of the pro in relation to their Series X they felt they were good

This was all decided before the PS5 and Series X even launched

Microsoft knowing that the ps5 pro would be a 16tflop console back before the ps5 launch seems even more incredible. Pretty sure even Sony weren't exactly sure what the pro would end up being back prior to ps5 launch.

These companies start planning these machines as soon as their current console thats about to launch is complete internally.

Each other knows exactly what the other is doing well in advance of any "leaks"

I know how Xbox would start their entire process was essentially trying to forecast what is the very best specs we can get say 5 years from now for $500

I can just almost guarantee you people like Tom Henderson even knew the specs of the PS6 a year ago already as thats when they started being talked about in the shadows :)

They did have the series x "refresh" aka brooklin planned but that never launched just like sebile. But that wasn't a performance bump as such.

My problem with that refresh was that it would basically be forced to be vertical if it looked anything like the images which for a lot of people would be annoying. I keep my Series X next to my tv stand so it wouldn't bother me.

Sebile is a shame if it doesn't ever come out.
  • Direct to cloud would be great for the people that use it.
  • Better haptics is always welcome.
  • Accelerometer could give us gyro finally.
  • Quieter buttons and sticks would be amazing as I hate how loud the Xbox controller is.
  • Modular thumbsticks would be amazing as well. The wide and smooth sticks that the elite controller have are great.
It would literally be the perfect PC controller as it combines the Dualsense and the current Xbox controller.

"I'm not bothered", followed by more being bothered.

Check my post history I’ve been telling Microsoft to release their games on Sony platforms before any of these titles where announced.

I would rather have 100 million more players for the Halo & Forza pools to keep the games alive longer I couldn’t give a shit what platform someone plays a game on.
