Why can't photomode be on one of the D pad buttons like Horizon?

In short, yes.
There are many instances where manual gives you more control (not limited too these though, as the biggest one is that the auto change point may not be the most efficient change point for the car you are driving), firstly, you can "hold" a gear, so say you are coming up to a corner and are reaching the higher end of your rev range, the auto system may change gear, which wastes time and speed, and you may be better off holding onto the gear you are in.
Secondly, you can short shift, which especially on wet tracks with a powerful car, can keep the torque of the engine in check and make the car easier to handle, which in turn is likely to make you quicker.
Here are the (rather small) things I'd like to be addressed so far :
Visual :
- add dynamic shadows in cockpits from lights at night, there are ones in chase cam so I don't get why there couldn't be some in the cockpit and it would make a huge difference in terms of realism
- I really like how windshield get dirty during the race, however it would be good to have the screen wiper activate before having the shape of them on the windscreen. The animation for rain is already there so it shouldn't be too long to add I suppose
Sound :
- individual sound levels, sorry Nick but I'd like to hear more my engine
- option de get chase cam sound in cockpit like in Richard Burns Rally even if it's not realistic
Photo mode :
- why oh why didn't you port over the option to move the watermark that was in Horizon 2 ?
- fewer limitations in terms of distances
- why limit the zoom in Forzavista as well ? I should be able to take a close-up photo of a lugnut if I want to...
- ability to take up to 4K photos, 1080p isn't enough with the high resolution screens that are everywhere, make it VIP exclusive or whatever if needs to be
BTW, for those who didn't watch the stream yesterday, Nick Wiswell said that there was a bug with the 350R, not loading the correct sound which will be corrected in the next title update. It's supposed to be much more beastly !

Wow, I didn't know this. It drives so good, and while it does sound good, that's great that it will be even more aggressive.

I wouldn't be surprised if my Drivatard is getting murdered since many of the GAFers on my friends list are A LOT better than me, but I don't think rewards are calculated that way.

To an extent. Manual transmission gives you so much more control over your vehicle. You need it to get the most speed in some of the corners. Definitely start practicing and stick with it. Youll be glad you did in time.

he'll play this and like, 3 other games maybe in a year. maybe 3 others.
I guess that's the difference, as long as you are going to use it for something else, seems a hell of an outlay for a single game!

I got a PS4 at launch for Driveclub, that rather than my XB1 was a dumb move.
In my defence it was a gift from my wife, but still, the console didn't get much driving game action for a while.
Me either as of last night. No Ford GT (in gifts/messages/add-ons or anywhere else) despite heavily playing the demo. I got some bonus money, and some cars, but I believe I'm missing a lot of things.
I too bought an Xbox for FM5 and am one of those guys who liked it. I was planning on getting a X1 anyway (to play other games) but Forza was made me get it Day 1.
And since FM6 is remarkably better than 5, I would say you can't go wrong this time around.
Likewise, I pretty much brought a PS3 for GT, and regretted it, funnily enough, my PS4 was also a gift from my wife!, but I'd say that my playtime is pretty evenly split between the two.

I use my X1 more, mainly because I prefer the controller and it's easier to buy cheap credit/game codes for it.
I really can't praise this fast and Furious car pack enough, these things look and sound great. I just wish I could use the damn things in the career from the start. I'm really annoyed that I can't race what I want at the start. Give me options to race radically different cars early in the career. I want to drive my GT350R in the career, not grind to earn the opportunity. Does it open up at some point?

Nope, I can see them in my game, although bizarrely all my additional content still say "preordered" on it.

I'm mainly a PC gamer, but my buddy brought his xbone over last weekend and I had such a good time with fh2 and f6 demo that I have been thinking about getting one ever since.
I kind of like the narration, at least from the top gear and automotive guys. If you're talking about Siri, then I completely agree.
And yes, leaving out Maple Valley was a strange decision as I've never seen anybody who dislikes that track.
It seems there are very few fantasy tracks left in FM.
You do, achievement guide over at True achievements points it out.

Mine didn't unlock when I was gifted the car, had to buy it.
Turn 10 must be well aware of this, so I wouldn't be at all surprised to see a 'classics' track pack released as D£C.

Also, I've pissed about with the HUD options and now when I'm not doing a clean lap, the little warning triangle near the lap time doesn't come up.
Any idea how to get that to come back on?
Along similar lines, something I noticed was, that outside of rivals, I wasn't seeing the invalidation triangle either, and my HUD is default...........

I wonder whether valid leaderboard times are now only done in rivals, and any laps you do outside of rivals don't go on the leaderboards?

Are you using Mods? If you are using Mods all the times are automatically invalidated anyway, so they probably don't see the need to add the triangle.
Nope, even without mods I wasn't seeing an invalidation triangle going off track, or drafting in career
Nope, still loads of cars without opening bonnets and boots, not sure about the EVO's though
All are forzaVista, but not all hoods can be popped, which is disappointing.
