I'm very particular about this kinda stuff. I wanna enjoy certain things (idols, anime, j/kdrama) as much as I can, so I actually watch pretty much zero of it when I'm sober. After all, there's only so much good content out there and then there's also diminishing returns, gotta saviour that shit.

I know this sounds very junkie-coded, and it kinda is, but as good old blue eyes famously said: I feel sorry for people who don't drink. When they wake up in the morning that's as good as they're going to feel all day.

I just ditched drinking (mostly) for weed once the latter became legal here, since it's far less destructive. "Mostly" is doing a lot of heay lifting in that sentence though, I actually got myself a bottle of cheap scotch to commemorate the end of my 2 week break today But yeah, I have a lot of idol stuff queued up I'm really looking forward to finally watch later on, because I'm not sure for how long I will still have the opportunity to do so.

Allow me to go on a brief tangent:
One of my favorite groups (I'm underselling this a lot, but whatever) is called NewJeans. The girls and their label are in a pretty messed up legal dispute. Basically the company tried to kick out their mentor/producer, the girls weren't having it and are now in the middle of terminating their contract. Some of it got so absurd that it wouldn't make it into a comedy show. Like the label actually released a video on their company youtube channel that went for like 10 minutes and accused the girls of all kind of shit. One of the members had to speak in front of the Korean National Assembly in regards to that whole shitshow and there's tons of other stuff.

Imagine this happening in the US. Like if Universal Music would release a (very cheap looking) video on their own YT account, trashing Sabrina Carpenter and she then would have to speak in front of the Senate or something. It's bizarre.

It's been an ongoing issue for like at least 5 months and it's dominating the industry currently. The girls even opened a seperate instagram account, called jeanzforfree, so it's not looking like the situation is going to be solved amicably. Mostly because the company is a manipulative greedy piece of shit.

So it is very much unclear what will happen in the next couple of weeks (maybe days) with their company-controlled "official" NewJeans YouTube channel, which hosts almost 3 years worth of variety content. So I very very very much want to continue watching that as soon as possible, hopefully today.

i don't know much about Korean culture but yeah it's a bit crazy. I knew there was a bit of drama going on with Loona / Chuu. Not sure what the latest is with them but I think Chuu is doing solo stuff now. And i did see that some korean girl (have no idea who it was) had to apologize to her fans for having a boyfriend or some shit.

you should download whatever youtube videos you want in case they get took down. if you have a PC then use JDownloader 2. It's super easy to use. Just copy the link and it should automatically get all the media and just press download. YouTube is a bit of a cunt though so it might be slow to download. I used to have YouTube/DL or whatever the hell it was called but it was way too slow to be any use.

I'm only a casual Loona fan since I got in too late, but yeah, that whole Loona/BBC thing was also a convoluted disaster. With NewJeans/Hybe these shenanigans just got kicked to another level entirely.

I don't know too much about any one member in particular, I just know that some of the girls finally were able to redebut under a different label and in a new group. I think there's ARTMS and Loossemble. The songs I've heard from them (sadly) didn't even come close to the absolute bangers that where songs like these:


I would probably genuinely call this one of my favorite songs of all time, but I actively avoid listening to it, because when I start I get the urge to do ungodly amounts of drugs again (not the light ones like weed) and just go bonkers. It's too bad how things for them ended, especially with being split up in different groups and losing momentum. That's all the more reason why I'm really happy to see the girls of NewJeans standing united. Stuff like this happens quite frequently in KPop and these corporations love to drive a wedge between the girls.

Yeah, you're absolutely right, I should've done this. Some here might remember my post the other day about deleting clips (in total close to 100gb), which was actually in part because I wanted to make space to do just that

I mostly use JDownloader as well (it's glorious), but there's actually one use case I found where youtube-dl is not only superior, but so far the only solution: If you wanna download 180° VR videos from YT, at least in some specific configuration which I currently can't recall. Jdownloader (and any other downloader) doesn't do that. You need to use youtube-dl with some hyper specific instruction, which I have saved some place, because YouTube changed something about how they deliver that shit last year or so.

Alien is really dope, thanks for posting. I only (well, like 98%) listen to groups, so I'm not familiar with any Solo Artist besides IU and BiBi. StayC and especially Twice are among my favorites as well.

I finally watched Sixteen in '23, the survival show which led to the formation of Twice. It's glorious, can't recommend it enough. Twice is also one of the best groups to get to know via their youtube channel. They have so. so. so much amazing content. It cannot be stressed enough how different that approach is to anything they do in Jpop, where I still have to use a private tracker from like 2011 (which I luckily remember my credentials for) to get access to variety stuff.

She didn't make it, and I didn't pay much attention to her when watching the show. Then, couple of months after I watched it (which is like 7 or 8 years after the show), she debuted in a group called Kiss of Life. This is how she looks now.

I really really like the DualSense controller, I bought one specifically to use for PC. Not a fan of the Xbox controller (the stick layout is just wrong, that's a hill I'm willing to die on) and the DualSense feels a lot nicer than the Dualshock 4, which was also pretty good. I had some other options in mind, like there's a couple of Razer controllers and what not, but I'm actually really happy about that purchase. Got the thing in use for like 2 years or more now and it's not disappointing in the least.

99% of the time I don't use any of the features either, not even vibration. But it is nice to have the possibility. There's a free tool called DualSenseX for Windows, which lets you set up stuff like adaptive triggers, sound playback and even haptic sound feedback. I'm just too lazy to bother most of the time, but it does feel pretty amazing to play BotW for example like that. With your controller slightly vibrating when your galopping on a horse instead of walking and stuff.

I recently found an old DualShock3 laying around here somewhere. It's almost comical how tiny that thing was. The Dualshock4 improved on this and the DualSense is even better. I honestly don't think there's another controller I would like better (and I really did try looking for one)

Dualsense is fine. Don't care for it's options. Love the Xbox controller as well especially for FPS games.

How much did you play of it?

It’s an amazing game but I found it a bit slow to start/get into. Side quests/activities were fun but eventually I stopped them near the end because I just wanted to focus on the story and finish the game. Hunting I couldn’t get into I found it too difficult.

Got forza working. it was my PC firewall blocking it.

Swapped the latest DLSS version in and it's running good. everything maxed out including raytracing with DLSS at Balanced and getting 120+fps. was getting about 150fps in ultra performance but it looks like shit.

Veryy happy with it Game looks even better and i love the feel of the cars and the sound.

Much better than GT7

i couldn't be fucked with that having to replay it. last game i done that with was baldurs gate 3. i was about 20 hours in and started a new game. one of the quests was bugged and fucked shit up. so i replayed it to try get around it.

First time eating greek yogurt today. I often fix myself some oats with skyr, some frozen fruits and sometimes some kind of chocolate (don't wanna start eating too healthy), but they were out of Skyr so I got that instead. Turns out, this is much better than Skyr. I got one regular kind with 10% fat, I'll try the 2% fat one in a couple of days. If the difference is as stark as in low fat percentage milk (which really tastes more like shitty flavoured water) then I'll stick to the 10%.

In what world is this almost a gram? Scale says 0.9. I noticed this a couple of times over the last almost 20 years, and most of the time I attributed it to the black market just doing black market things and spraying the weed or some shit, whatever. I very much doubt a pharmacy would do something like this though. It's not moist or anything, so the weight doesn't come from there either. I know it's kinda hard to infer from an image, but usually to get to gram, I could fit like at least 3 buds of that size on the scale.
