FRIDAY NIGHT [OT] - Official NeoGAF Weekend Kickoff

ÆMNE22A!C

NO PAIN TRANCE CONTINUE
I spent a bunch of hours playing RDR2 yesterday. There is something so enjoyable about exploring the world. The visuals certainly help. I'm glad enough time has passed that I can max the graphics settings and still keep it close to 60fps at 4k. I'll fine tune some of the setting eventually to get a locked 60.

Reinstalled it on PS5 3 months ago or something but uninstalled almost immediately; can't handle the 30FPS
Such a shame, just exploring on horseback is so relaxing <3

i can't tell any difference tbh lol.

at least it sounds like you're responsible with money.

i've been paying into retirement pension but don't even think about because it's so far away. i don't know what would happen if i moved jobs. i've still got another 35 years or something left before i can retire. well i think i could retire in ~20 years but i doubt it. i'll probably be dead long before i hit 50
I would say generally I'm in a great financial situation--no debt, no issues with cost of living. But I can't max out my retirement contributions anymore so I worry about the future. I'm also at a point where I worry that I might not have the option to travel abroad as much. Global tensions aside, my knee and hip aren't going to last forever and I travel to hike/explore. I'm sitting on way too much credit card rewards that would cover most or all of the trip anyway. New Zealand is really my ideal trip but Europe was so nice the few times I've been there. Japan would be cool too but I would 100% want a local guide to take me to the small villages instead of being in Tokyo the whole time.

i'm not good with money as you might have guessed. that sucks about not travelling as much. i still want to travel. thinking about booking my next trip but my fitness has got worse recently. i'd love to go to japan. always wanted to go since i was a kid and got into pokemon cards (lol). but i can't speak or read a lick of japanese so worried how i'd manage. probably need to stick to europe. i always wanted to go back to USA but not so much anymore.

Life is too short my man. As long as you are happy. You're setting money aside for the future so don't fret too much (I say as I sit here fretting :p).

that is really my thinking lately. i'm not rich but i've been been saving up for years and didn't want to spend it. something has changed in me the last few months and i am just spending it because fuck it. yeah i feel sick spending so much money on bloody pokemon cards but fuck it. i like them.

i've been wanting to book this particular trip for the last 8+ years and it has been a dream of mine since i was a kid.

maybe i should just go for it. i could be dead this time next year :D
