Fuuuuu do a major update on KI and relaunch that shit on PS5.

Did they already release a version called "KI Gold"?? Do that!!! This game always had great word of mouth and tons of people missed it. Part because xbone was stumbling on it's own and part because sony stole back the fgc with the SFV exclusive.

It's been 12 years. Give us KI2 on all platforms

VF5 has been hanging on by its fingernails since 2006 with sparse updates!! Fighting Games = Poverty. An update/re-release gets a bunch of people back in the water for like a month, which is actually pretty helpful. Casuals jump in for a minute and players of other games want to visit for the bloodbath. It lets a game hold on to some scrap of relevancy for a time after that honeymoon and can prove the viability of a sequel.

I've never looked into this at all but I've got to assume the cost to dev a fighting game has got to be significantly cheaper than other types of titles? The gameplay and such are largely locked, I imagine most of the cost goes into the character and move design. My assumption has always been that these titles are relatively cheap to maintain vs titles that require building entire levels, AI, enemies, scripting and so on.

Ah you forgot to mention TLOU PC localization.

These scammers are behind the worst sony PC port ever made.

So, yes. I am VERY happy they lost their jobs. Too bad it wasn’t the whole studio but I will be celebrating this later today with some pizza and a Foster’s beer.

You get what you deserve.

Oh no... PS5 version is at risk then?

Come on guys, there's an actual market to sell fighting games on PS - do it. Get the PS version into Evo or something.

There is zero doubts of a viability of a KI2 with a day one release on all platforms.

i agree that port was awful and iron galaxy does have a history of quality control issues. but damn.

Man, such a shame. I was one of the few that really dug Rumbleverse. It just needed some more content and overall "umph!". I genuinely thought it was one of the more fun and innovative BR games out there.

I thought they did great work with KI too.

Hoping for the best for them after this.

They're generally pretty cheap but the budgets are correspondingly tight. 'champions edition'-style revisions are much much cheaper and faster to make.

And in the modern day that basically gets converted to DLC. Fighting games is one of the genres that truly turned out better due to GAAS, what of you being able to pay to have new characters but still able to keep playing the old game that doesn't go obsolete.

Agree like the change overall. Only part I'm not crazy about is balance patches that might come too fast without letting the meta simmer.

Glacius main here. Great game. Would love for it to come to PS5 so I can run the gauntlet to Killer rank again on the newbies.

That sucks. Adam boyes was on the gerstmann podcast what, last week?

I don't think Adam Boyes is there anymore. His Linkedin has him gone as of December.

My guess is they had been working on TLOUP2 before TLOUP1 came out and after that disaster, Nixxes took over and Sony canceled all future contracts with them.

I think Nixxes taking on TLOUP2 probably stretched them thin. Normally they'd put out 1-2 ports a year.

In 2024 they did: Horizon Forbidden West PC, Ghost of Tsushima PC, and Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered (with external partners) with Spider-Man 2 coming out very early in 2025 and a tight window on getting TLOU2 out before the tv show comes out in April. And I wouldn't be surprised if they were working on TLOUP1 patches as well.

5 games in less than 18 months... Yeah, that's a lot and it looks like Spider-Man 2 probably paid the price. Hopefully, TLOU2 won't also be a bad port. My guess is it's all hands on deck to fix Spider-Man 2 now.

The fact you celebrate with a can of kangaroo piss only underlines your stupidity.

They need funding and a team for a KI2. The original was fantastic but stuck on shitbox.

Make it all consoles and pc right out the gate, and it’ll sell.

Pretty sure Naught Dog was behind Last of Us 1 port and Iron Galaxy were brought in to help.
