Iron Galaxy lays off 66 developers in 'last resort' lifesaving effort
After a number of cost-cutting measures, Iron Galaxy is cutting staff to ensure its 'long-term survival.'
That part right there. I'd throw in on this.Fuuuuu do a major update on KI and relaunch that shit on PS5.

I've never looked into this at all but I've got to assume the cost to dev a fighting game has got to be significantly cheaper than other types of titles? The gameplay and such are largely locked, I imagine most of the cost goes into the character and move design. My assumption has always been that these titles are relatively cheap to maintain vs titles that require building entire levels, AI, enemies, scripting and so on.VF5 has been hanging on by its fingernails since 2006 with sparse updates!!
There is zero doubts of a viability of a KI2 with a day one release on all platforms.VF5 has been hanging on by its fingernails since 2006 with sparse updates!! Fighting Games = Poverty. An update/re-release gets a bunch of people back in the water for like a month, which is actually pretty helpful. Casuals jump in for a minute and players of other games want to visit for the bloodbath. It lets a game hold on to some scrap of relevancy for a time after that honeymoon and can prove the viability of a sequel.
Now is the time to strike with Mortal Kombat on the back foot, but Microsoft will probably be too late. Again. There is zero doubts of a viability of a KI2 with a day one release on all platforms.
Who hurt you?So, yes. I am VERY happy they lost their jobs. Too bad it wasn’t the whole studio but I will be celebrating this later today with some pizza and a Foster’s beer.
i agree that port was awful and iron galaxy does have a history of quality control issues. but damn.Ah you forgot to mention TLOU PC localization.
These scammers are behind the worst sony PC port ever made.

And in the modern day that basically gets converted to DLC. Fighting games is one of the genres that truly turned out better due to GAAS, what of you being able to pay to have new characters but still able to keep playing the old game that doesn't go obsolete. They're generally pretty cheap but the budgets are correspondingly tight. 'champions edition'-style revisions are much much cheaper and faster to make.
