Game director who destroyed Dragon Age franchise sets eyes on Baldur’s Gate franchise next

I'll wait until there's a real source. That being said WOTC are nauseatingly woke and it wouldn't be surprising to see them hire this clown. Maybe he can return to Bioware in time for Mass Effect 5 and make it a clean sweep of decimated Bioware franchises.

So the latest is that Corinne Busche has been hired by Wizards of the Coast as game director, and given that Larian has declined on making Baldur’s Gate 4, this probably means WOTC will be internally making that title with Busche in charge of the project.
Ok, now I finally believe in white male privilege and failing upwards :p

It takes more than one person to break a game...just like it takes more than one person to make a game.

Also the industry is full of nepotism (I benefitted from that) so it makes sense I guess. Its easier to hire the person you already have a working relationship with than take a chance on an unknown, especially with the pendulum swinging as hard as it is right now.

Where did you get that confirmation?
after the game was announced there were a couple of gameplay clips leaks ( very short 5-6 seconds each ) , one was with an explosion , one was with some gliding and one with character creation screen

maybe they changed it after all the scandals with concord and veilguard

Baldur's Gate 3 was already full of DEI anyway.
Sure, BG3 had a lot of things, you don't get to tell it what it is. - Taash

In all seriousness, those are some mammoth sized shoes to fill. Seeing how she butchered the DA franchise. I cannot in any way see how this will have a happy ending for the devs, WotC or fans of BG3. Silver lining is that we will have another game to laugh at.

That's a big stretch. We don't know the current state of BG franchise and besides Wizards of the Coast will likely outsource Baldur's Gate 4 to a studio experienced in making big RPGs.

The future of this IP is already fucked in my opinion - any sequel won't live up to the expectations no matter who develops the game. Kinda like with Half-Life 3 or Bloodlines 2.

Another one of those funny posts where someone can’t tell who you’re talking about. Grifters? X Leakers? Grummz? Debunkers? Journos? The director? All of the above?
Pretty sure 99,99% of the people in this topic know exactly who he is calling out :lollipop_grinning_sweat:
