I kind of got that feeling too, but I totally didn't mind because I always liked when they would do something incredibly fucked up on that show and then use a song that really just heightens everything that just happened.
It's good for a show like GoT to have that kind of spontaneity every now and then. Sometimes episodes just "end" and leave me going "... aaaaand I guess that's it." This was just a great ending all around. A true cliffhanger.
I was surprised they went through with it. Poor old Jaime, still, could be worse.
