But gas is soooooooooo good. Cheaper than electric many times, burns hotter, often still works even if power is off.
Yah just gotta have some detectors is all, especially in a modern house thats virtually airtight.

Oh without a doubt gas makes a warmer heat but we wanted it gone converting our Southern Indiana home late last year after a home exploded on some people we very vaguely knew

Their bodies were found in separate rooms and the dead dog in a closet. The other two dogs of Hackman are still alive and the main door was open. We'll see about the autopsy, but it's very suspicious.

I'm hoping it was just someone else coming to the house, opening the door, seeing dead folks, then getting the fuck out (which, if gas was a possibility, makes sense). Murder would be horrible, post-mortem looting less worse I suppose. If workers came to the house and checked, that could explain an open door and loose animals, even if they say they found it that way to avoid being accused of breaking in.

That sounds almost like a spy thriller. Pills scattered next to the woman sounds like something a CIA agent would do after assassinating someone in a movie. Very mysterious, almost sounds like some kind of poison darts that were shot at the three.

This is sounding bad if it were a suicide because her husband died why just take one dog out?
I watched that for the first time earlier this year. Crazy to think she's still alive and she's really good when she enters the film. The film itself is a bit odd, the famous plane scene especially.

If they took pills then one person vomiting and the dog eating that and getting some partially digested meds is most likely.
I find it almost impossible to believe that a 95 year old guy dying would drive his 65 year old wife to suicide. Maybe the reverse if he was very dependent on her but you'd think they would have a home nurse if he was basically an invalid. A mutual suicide pact also seems highly unlikely but who can say. Some folks can be very co-dependent on each other though and if they were super reclusive, which may be the case if none of their neighbors thought to check on them for weeks, maybe that's the case. While not all Shepards are protective I've a hard time believing someone broke in, assaulted them, and was able to extract after killing just one dog but leaving the others free.

One of my favorite actors for literally as long as I can remember. I wasn't even knee high to a grasshopper when when my dad would talk about The French Connection and quote Popeye Doyle dialogue. He's performed more amazingly great roles than I can count. RIP to a true legend.

The news stories bring up the dog. If they have been dead for 2 weeks, would a dog simply starve to death? So no foul play with the dog. It just didnt get fed. But I dont know anything about dogs so maybe they can survive a longtime without food and water.
They have 3 dogs, 2 are alive, 1 in the house the other outside. A dog would eat the dead people and the dead dog when hungry. So I doubt they’d been dead for 2 weeks unless securely away from the live dogs. Which had an alternative source of food and water.

Many people don't do anything until something bad happens to them or their close ones. Problem here is that with CO poisoning you don't get another shot or a warning that something's wrong.
Too bad this "peaceful" scenario is getting less likely and looking more like intentional suicide of at least one of them.

Certainly a plausible story.
If she died next to a space heater that kept her warm, it would accelerate decomposition. So that might explain her poor condition and wouldn't require more than a few days.

They tested negative for carbon monoxide. Believed they died February 17th.
Not sure how advanced decomposition was, but there should be clear observable signs of physical trauma if they were physically harmed. If not, they will obviously run thorough toxicology to see if they've been poisoned.

According to the limited reports the signs point to him just having a serious fall, then the wife possibly being grief stricken and overdosing on a couple of different medications, but the suspicious factors are one of the dogs being locked in a room (the other two were not) and the front door being unlocked and left partially open.
People are on there phone all the time, so once they get a few phone records they should be able to get a pretty accurate time estimate of how things played out, that and the toxicology reports I think are likely going to explain things.
