I have an i5 750 with 8GB RAM and a GTX 560Ti. If I go to a GTX 760, will my rig be limited by the CPU in regards to the latest games like TitanFall and Dark Souls 2?
Thanks, that's good to hear. I found a comparison with the 840 EVO that showed a 200mbs difference when the read queue was 1, but it catches up to the EVO when it's about 3 or 4. If it's not noticeable, then cool. I'm coming from an old 5400rpm drive anyway, so I think I'll be happy.
What about the Sandisk Ultra? It got a mention here so I thought I'd see if anyone has experience with it.
I really tempted to start buying parts, perhaps it will encourage me to finish it. (It's a shame I didnt do that with £35 Samsung Green RAM.)
A friend told me about PCSpecialist.co.uk yesterday. Has anyone heard of them? Apparently they have an advert on TV. I did a quick build on there and part for part, for a desktop (no software, no m/kb, no monitor) it comes up as not much more than on PCPP. The parts list to choose from is much smaller, but it seems like a legit source.
Queue just popped for CS:GO. I will get to it after the match or tomorrow, but I'll throw a couple options at ya.
So i updated windows 8.1 and everything. I just got a question now.
Should i install all ne updated on the Asus website for the B85M-G ? Even Bios and everything or should i just leave it? I first installed the drivers from the shipped Asus CD
Furthermore: Are these datas good for my Crucial M500 or do i have to install somehting or configurate anything with my harddrive ?
Your motherboard won't fit as it is ATX and your case is only mATX. You'd need to either change the case or change the motherboard - something like the Gigabyte GA-Z87M-D3H would be good.So I have the parts lined up ready for purchase but I just wanted to confirm with someone that all this stuff will fit in my case. Can anyone take a look and let me know?

So long as all your stuff works there really isn't a need to update your drivers. Those speeds for your SSD are just fine tooAny answers please?
Has anyone had experience with an open-air case? I know this is for mining, and it would be overkill for my single GPU preference, but I love the design and accessibility:
Dopamine
Yeah you're fine. Unless it's a really shitty power supply.Will a GTX 750 TI work with a 350W PSU?
CPU: AMD Fx-4100
8 GB RAM
I grabbed a i5-3570k for a steal way back in November. Once I overclock I should be more than ok right? Or do I need to look at stepping up to an i7?
I have the i7 920 @ 2.67GHz which I've been using since 2009. I seeing some noticeable micro stutter in my games when a lot of stuff happens on the screen. I'm not sure if this is happening because of my CPU not. I have 8GB RAM and a GTX 680. Should I start thinking about upgrading the CPU or just hold off and build a new PC in a year or so?

You can overclock that 920 and get more life out of it. 920 is a beast for overclocking.

Here you go. The case I selected also comes in Red/Black. It required that I drop the DVD Writer, and most people add them out of habit. If you do need one specifically, I'd suggest swapping in the Fractal Define R4.Tweaked it a little bit. The mobo is still expensive. I want options, I've run SLI before and may do it again. Let me know what you think.

Go ahead and pull the trigger.Hey guys, any comments on this build?

I have a few more games on my console backlog, so i can wait for a month or 2 before purchasing. Do you think the prices for any of these parts are going to come down, or might as well pull the trigger now?
Yeah, I've had a number of benches.Has anyone had experience with an open-air case? I know this is for mining, and it would be overkill for my single GPU preference, but I love the design and accessibility:

Yessir.I just came to think. If I have some external hard drives can I open their enclosures and use them internally in my desktop PC?
Yessir.
What is the best guide for overclocking a 3570K? I have a P8 Z77-V Pro motherboard and a CM 212 EVO and 16GB of CML16GX3M2A1600C10 RAM. I have never overclocked before so preferably an easy to follow guide for an beginner would be best. Also I have had a 670 since they were released would upgrading to a 780 be a major increase in performance or am I better off waiting for Maxwell?
Oh, I'm gonna install a 1TB and 3TB HDD then!Yessir.
SATA cables are what you'll want. Motherboard should have come with at least 4 though.Oh, I'm gonna install a 1TB and 3TB HDD then!
But I guess I'm gonna buy extra PCIe cables and such too.

Yep, and it's why I don't use it.Hey guys is sleep mode on a desktop computer the same as hibernate? I am wondering if it's a good idea to use sleep mode with my new EVO ssd. If I'm not mistaken, hibernate writes the RAM state to the ssd correct?

Yep. Hibernate is what they call it on laptops. Sleep is what they call it on desktops. But my PC has a sleep option and no hibernate. Is it the same thing for PC?
In Samsung Magician I believe I chose the profile for optimal reliability, which disables hibernation and such, but pressing the sleep button still worked
Yep. Hibernate is what they call it on laptops. Sleep is what they call it on desktops.
That's not correct. Sleep keeps RAM powered up so resuming is instant. Hibernate writes RAM contents to disk and powers it down. In Windows, if you have "hybrid sleep" enabled, choosing "Sleep" will both keep RAM powered up and write contents to disk in case of power outage. Disable it and you should have regular sleep without writing to disk.Yep. Hibernate is what they call it on laptops. Sleep is what they call it on desktops.

New firmware update. Stuck at 50% for 2hrs now.
It's not downloading (the router lights aren't even blinking indicating traffic).
All other apps are closed.
It won't let me exit the Magician.
What should I do?
Yep. Hibernate is what they call it on laptops. Sleep is what they call it on desktops.
Just found out MSI will be replacing my RMA'd 770 4gb with a 780 since they didn't have stock of the 770. Wowzers, can't wait. They just made a customer for life.
