I have. And i’m not sure if you missed. But a lot of pc releases are pretty shit these days at release. While console versions also have issues. Majority of the time the PC counterparts are broken. We’ve seen it with a lot of games recent years.

I think this is actually a really positive strategy from Microsoft. Albeit, the only one they can turn to if they want to run a profitable division.

Nintendo have the pulling power to sell consoles at a profit, and have their development cycle in order. People buy their games in the 10s of millions because they are fun.

Sony are buoyed by their 20m European customers who view their platform as the de facto FIFA box and buy PS+ every year for that purpose.

Microsoft have neither of those things, so make good games and put them everywhere. There’s no pride to swallow here, it benefits everyone to see their games on Nintendo, PlayStation and Steam.

The problem for some of us is they have done a piss poor job with the console so they revert to this “everyone wins “ strategy when you know as well as I do, that it Xbox was performing much better critically and commercially especially as a console, they would not shut up about it.

They failed and Series X is no where near the console it should have been this generation. They have kept a lot of the same people in place so they divert tactics to get some money back.

They have not put the right people in place to make their console efforts more appealing. Yet some fans still back them and the media refuse to criticise them.

Sales are so front loaded nowadays that these small delays give enough time for every inch of the game to be discovered. That reduces the perceived value of the product.

He specifically name dropped an exclusive game due out much later in the year to make it sound like that game wasn't even in consideration for porting.
