The paramount global deal was a white whale. It wasn't budgeted for and as the scope of the deal got larger Sony lost interest.

I think it would have favored Pictures mostly, but in a transformative way that would have aided music and GNS.

Sony being able to put out a first party star trek game without paying royalties (outside of Sony) would have been huge. Same with Spongebob, TMNT, Mission Impossible. It also would have given them the movie rights to sonic and I think, an incentive for Sony to buy Sega.

Sony couldn't have majority ownership of CBS. It's one channel and it would have been majority owned by Apollo.

At the end of the day, I think the company had more debt than Sony was comfortable taking on.

They already are owned by a big company. They also have to pay more for publishers since the company doesn’t self publish.

Sony could easily do remaster of Bloodborne even without FROM but the chose not to do it because Horizon makes more money for them.

Not only FROM previous games, Sony has so many other games from PS2 and PS3 era they can bring to PS5 but they just don’t fucking do it…..let’s release another fucking remaster of Horizon again.

Nintendo loves money and they can be greedy as much as other companies but time to time they willing give something like this year the brought back Another Code even tho it was super niche and I’m pretty sure it made no money for them.
