List of PS5 Pro enhanced games

Why don’t you two set up your own thread to bitch about the Pro. You both come in and bitch about the same thing and same games again and again. We can’t change what you are complaining about. This is well past just complaining and obviously is an agenda. Sell your Pro and move on…if you even have one, which I doubt.

Seriously man ? You're the one replying to someone else with a cry.gif ? He's the one not satisfied with anything ? Maybe you're the one being satisfied with everything that our Lord and savior Sony throws at us ?

Can't the guy express his opinion after shelling out 800 Eurodollars or are we in this topic just to bicker at each other posting Pro comparison pics ad infinitum ?

Seriously now, why are you such a defender of everything Sony ? And if you think that I'm trying to single you out...well, it's not exactly like I'm the 1st saying this to you, can't you act normal without getting your panties in a twist whenever someone, anyone expresses some criticism towards this company ?

Are we here to discuss things or just to perform fellatio on a multi-billion company ?
I seriously don't fucking get some of you, you go to into a Xbox topic - bam - there's Adams cockle, Ozriel, Bumble tuna and others to quickly defend MS's "honor", you go into a PS thread as to have a chat - bam - there's people like you trying to shut down any kind of criticism, there's absolutely no friggin' discussion to be had in here, it's like, you either have to keep on sucking to a company or nothing, there's just no middle ground, everything has to be a Vs with some of you 😉

TLDNR : let people express their (valid) opinion without trying to police their thoughts every single god-damned time

I've expressed plenty of complaints and criticism in certain areas when it's justified. In the case of the PS5 Pro, it's not.

I am not saying he's not allowed to express his opinion, I do not know why you somehow believe that to be the case. Similarly, I am allowed to express my own disdain for his opinion. Not sure why you decided to ride to his defense over my counter-opinion to his post.

If somebody came into the PS5 Pro expecting more patches than we have already received, they were misinformed into the nature of a mid-gen refresh. The PS4 Pro and Xbox One X clearly show the precedent. PS5 Pro, in fact, seems to be MORE widely supported in just a few months in comparison to the PS4 Pro. The entire catalogue does not take advantage of the new hardware. The games that do have patches have varying results based on the individual developers and how much resources they put into them, and as time goes on the games that are developed with plenty of time to optimize for Pro consoles become more of the standard instead of the sub-optimal ports that occur on occasion. We do not even get the kind of support he is asking for with a legitimate next-gen refresh, like PS4 to PS5. Some games take advantage of the new hardware with patches, but most of the catalogue does not beyond a simple boost type mode.

So yeah, something is clearly wrong with his expectations of what a mid-gen refresh is and how the development pipeline works. We don't live in a bubble of infinite dev resources that go back and patch games despite doing the internal ROI and concluding they've got bigger problems to worry about.

OK, i - at the very least - appreciate the fact that you replied like a normal human being, kudos for that and i do mean it.

See man ? Wouldn't it be nicer if we actually talked things instead of throwing accusations and/or replying in a snarky way at others ? And when I say "others" I mean guys like itfeelslike42 which has never shitposted and has in fact the same product as us, a product which isn't cheap by any means btw.

Then you have others like the Monkey guy 2 posts above yours crying at the heavens about supposed "agendas" (lol, LMAO even) and that maybe, people that don't agree with him should basically shut the fuck up®...this....this isn't exactly the right way to conduct a proper discussion.

Just like the fact i don't enter the topic yelling at others " stop circle jerking with the Pro comparison shots", it should be the same with others in that they shouldn't tell people holding a different opinion to shut the fuck up.

That's all 😉

lol you posted a picture of a pro, that’s great, now dance like a monkey. I bet you can’t do that and you would still look like than less than an idiot than some of your comments made here.

Well past that point. Don’t act like a victim because you are being called out.

Well it's a bit annoying hearing constant negativity about every single thing, though, especially when it's really not rooted in any sort of objective basis. I don't have any issue with him as a poster, but his arguments do not make logical sense and it seems like he just has a bone to pick. There's no nuance here, everything is bad/disaster.

DF's take on the new PSSR patch for outlaws:

Just watching this now. Seems like some solid improvements. I was also thinking about how they could give us a way to improve pssr versions while not relying on game updates.
Maybe like how you can check for updates on a game but a tab "check for new pssr version" cant see it happening but would be a welcome QOL feature.

Also, bickering aside... been really enjoying Space marine 2. Image quality seems great. Few frame hiccups but nothing too distracting.

Seeing games get new pssr updates gives me hope games like GT7 will improve over time. Kinda exciting in a way.

just completed wukong on my ps5 pro 40fps balanced mode with 120hz OLED TV, and the game's got exceptional image quality.

undoubtedly the sharpest I've yet seen on pro, I did spot some of the flickering PSSR artifacts with the low ambient lightings, otherwise it was a flawless experience.

ghosting1
ghostng2

definitely didn't see any of these ghosting artifacts found on base ps5 except on the pre rendered cut scenes :messenger_tears_of_joy:

the frame rate was mostly stable unless you use some of its strand skill (creating 6 copies of yourself) in a midst of hectic boss battle

strand

and it's pretty obvious why because you get 6 copies identical to your already overly detailed wukong :messenger_winking:

Civ 7 on Pro is all over the place. It runs at 60 FPS when stationarey, but as soon as you start scrolling, even at the beginning, it falls to like 48 FPS. Very strange.

Game is beautiful, though. Much nicer than Civ 6.

Game runs laggy on the steam deck too.
At low settings..

Glad i got the pc version instead of the Playstation 5 PRO™️ version i guess!

It needs more love on PS5, but I don’t regret getting it there. Hopefully they’ll deliver, but since the “being suzerain of a city state doesn’t reveal the map” bug never got fixed in 9 years of Civ VI I’d keep my expectations in check.

I don't agree with the findings. Performance mode is much, much sharper on the pro. Oliver says it's 1440p on the base machine, but it always felt dynamic to me. It's fine in the first scripted area and castle, but when out in the open world exploring the game would become very soft and pixelated, looked more like 1080p to me with stuff like trees and grass looking quite bad. In the same spots the pro looks more like the fidelity mode in comparison, I was actually very impressed with the upgrade in performance mode. Thre was also no sign of flickering or any artifacts in the few hours I played, I assumed it didn't even use PSSR.

I'm convinced these guys don't actually play games.

Hogwarts Legacy was my first PS5 Pro game. The fact that he glazed over the option that I found the best way to play the game which is the VRR, unlocked performance mode tells me everything.

I tried out every mode and this was easily the best for me. Even going to the 60 fps locked mode felt considerably less playable.

The PS5 Pro is best for people who have 4K TVs with support for VRR. Everyone knows this and DF largely glosses over it.

I'm sure they play games. Though they probably don't play all the games they analyze. Each of them have specific genres that they are passionate about and it shows in passing comments and banter. The rest is just... work, I guess. And yes, they aren't particularly great at calling out so many nuances that people who actually play those games notice. For example, I was shocked that they didn't call out the LoD changes in GT7 for the different visual modes. The bridge detail literally pops in and out when they switch modes and they completely overlook it in the commentary. Can't quite tell how they miss something that obvious. Lol.

I'm not saying they're not gamers, I'm saying they're not doing proper analysis of games and that is how they miss the obvious.

I know not EVERYONE with a PS5 Pro has a 120hz tv with VRR, but I'm confident a large percentage do and Hogwarts Legacy massively improves based on utilizing the VRR unlocked performance above 60 fps. It's the only way I was happy playing the game. For him to give all of 2 seconds ot that while ripping the game's other modes is just laughable.

Maybe they're not nefarious and just have too many games to cover, but there's a clear trend when it comes to DF and how they cover PlayStation products.

Nice to see Oliver from DF giving some clarity around the terrible Hogwarts pro patch, if he had done that nearer launch I could have saved myself £20
He wasn't brave enough to put the Series X against the PS5 pro, but vs the base PS5 was damning enough, out of all the pro patches I still rate this as the worst and my only regret regards spending on games from launch until now..
could be worse, if I hadn't bought it on sale I guess

Could be using Nvidia deep fake for this picture

Take a picture of your meat next to it,
The whole not having at Pro at the end was thrown in at the last second and wasn't the point really. I think I maybe got him confused with another member after looking back a few post from him on this thread. Anyhow I backed off.

Wasn't that Xbox Discord thing from before the current consoles' launch?
Yes but it helps explain why all these guys always follow the same message. Like "The industry has changed". Always thought it was funny how they all seemed to think the industry had changed at the same time when just a month or so before it was all about buying publishers for exclusives.

I primarily play in 40fps mode in Hogwarts Legacy on Pro and I think the image quality is better than the base PS5, so, at least wrt balanced mode I think the upgrade is there. When I played the performance mode on Pro I think it was better as well compared to base PS5. Maybe ray-tracing mode isn’t very good but I don’t use that mode. Admittedly it has been a while since I saw the game on base PS5 and Series X (I own it on both platforms) but going on memory I think PSSR is an image quality upgrade in this game.

I’m finding myself disagreeing with Oliver a few times now. He recommended using FSR 3.0 in Star Wars Outlaws prior to the recent PSSR patch. Maybe it’s just a matter of preference but even the old version of PSSR in Outlaws was a lot better wrt to image quality/stability in motion. I can understand not wanting to play with shimmering but imo the significant image stability in motion advantage of PSSR outweighed any shimmering. FSR looks very poor in motion in Outlaws. But I guess that’s a personal preference as to what trade off you want.

I also disagree with his repeated emphasis on elevating image quality at rest over image quality in motion. At rest is important and PSSR needs to get better at it, but the majority of gaming occurs in motion and his emphasis should be there imo.

Also, it’s minor, but in the video he said something like there’s not much to recommend the balanced mode over performance in Hogwarts Legacy. That may be true for most people, but balanced mode is sharper than performance mode and you can see it. Again, perhaps most people don’t care and would prefer the extra frames, but balanced mode is the superior looking image.
