Hmmm.. maybe Bethesda is testing the waters to see how an UE5 Elder Scrolls will resonate with the players before probably ditching the creation engine for good.
Easily in ue5 just add this to Engine.iniCan I disable bloom?
What, you didn't enjoy jumping all the time to get your athletics level up?The leveling system in the original was retarded, probably the dumbest character progression I’ve ever seen in an RPG.
They are working on MGS Delta, the yare the biggest in Europe.
Gonna suck
I think a fix for the leveling system was one of the first mods I ever downloaded for a game. It was out and working within the first week of release on PC IIRC. So I never really experienced that gripe with the game because it was fixed for me immediately. Would have sucked to play it on console and be stuck with that ridiculous leveling system, though. The leveling system in the original was retarded, probably the dumbest character progression I’ve ever seen in an RPG. Hope they completely rework it.
Also hopefully no bisexual lighting
Pretty sure Bethesda isn't making this internally. I believe it's Virtuos Studios. This is definitely all about getting their engineers time and training in UE5. Probably going to suck for modding though. Knowing Bethesda this game will be filled with brokenness on release, and without mods that will suck hard. I'll definitely wait until it's been all fixed up.
Why would you say something so controversial yet so brave?Y'all going to get nostalgia baited so hard with this game
That kind of misses the point no?I would assume no mod support if they go with Unreal 5.
The skill point system is going to get butchered. I can feel it.Gonna suck
No idea. Personally I haven’t played a Bethesda game without mods since Daggerfall days. That kind of misses the point no?
Are people really so in love with vanilla Oblivion and the stunning quest and story design?
This is impossible since the original game was poorly designed and bugged.I love Oblivion, but this will probably suck ass compared to the original game.

that's the spirit!Gonna suck
I'm certain they'll get rid of the level scaling. I'm hoping though is that they mostly preserve the amount of player stats to level. I remember enjoying all the different use to improve stats there were and being really disappointed in how little there were in Skyrim
exactly my point! No idea. Personally I haven’t played a Bethesda game without mods since Daggerfall days.
Yep, so it’s going to be interesting to see what changes will the Remake bring.exactly my point!

Like I couldn’t play Oblivion vanilla with the default leveling, level scaling and inventory handling.
But they haven’t yet…Thank you for delivering once again, Microsoft
Damn, I just couldn’t stomach default leveling or scaling. For inventory, it sucked since Arena and it still sucks.Man, feels like I'm the exception. Through the decade(s), I've only played Oblivion in its vanilla state, with expansions etc. Never felt the need to try modding it.
That sounds like a threat, ngl.that reworks everything seen in the original title.
Fuck man, still triggers my gamer OCD to this day any time I think about it.What, you didn't enjoy jumping all the time to get your athletics level up?
I got it at launch for 360 and suffered. I double dipped on PC a couple years later, mainly so I could mod it and fix the leveling and other crappy mechanics.I think a fix for the leveling system was one of the first mods I ever downloaded for a game. Don't worry. You won't notice the bloom through the stutter. Can I disable bloom?
I can’t be too down on this tbh. Oblivion is easily one of my all-time favorites and it’s the first Elder Scrolls game I played. It’s special. The memories I have from pre-release to finally starting this game and stepping out from the starter cave tops almost everything in my gaming life.Oblivion imo shouldn't be touched as left as is, however used to say that about Silent Hill 2, and the remake for that absolutely delivered, so meh we'll see.
Day 1 if they leave Jeremy Soule's greatest masterpiece untouched
Hopefully. Initial big impact aside, Oblivion kind of sucked aside from a few particular questlines (like the Dark Brotherhood one). I certainly wouldn't be sad to lose nearly all vestiges of its actual gameplay systems, especially combat. So, a different game?
Reducing the writing of Oblivion to the main story is somewhat stupid because it’s only such a small part of it. That game had some amazing quests. The main faction quest lines alone are worth it.If they're improving it that much could they really not just come up with a new storyline and side quests to make it a new TES game taking place in the same or similar area? What was even so good about its story and progression to need a remake?
It better not have the same crappy Oblivion gate crap, Oblivion should be its own dimension or some shit, not just another samey crappy dungeon every time. But again if they go to the trouble to actually make this happen, why not do a new game?

A studio known for remaking games is making a remake to a game. I don’t know why you are asking if they will make something else.It better not have the same crappy Oblivion gate crap, Oblivion should be its own dimension or some shit, not just another samey crappy dungeon every time. They better ditch it, otherwise this may end up looking and playing far better than Elder Scrolls VI.Hmmm.. maybe Bethesda is testing the waters to see how an UE5 Elder Scrolls will resonate with the players before probably ditching the creation engine for good.
0 hopes, modern Bethesda sucks.
- A remake of The Elder Scrolls: Oblivion is in development by Virtuos using Unreal Engine 5.
shader compilation exclusive feature for PC version.UE5 huh?
will run like crap i think
To be honest i love Oblivion so much that i would just rather have a Night Dive style remaster with you know a clean up, add controller support, etc.
This will probably not end up the Oblivion we know and love.
