At this point I feel pretty confident Ajani's next card will actually be full on Naya. I'd be interested to see how a three color, 3 CMC Planeswalker would look.

I can only picture Derevi and Animar at that.
If the plus ability works as others have postulated, and the preview article suggests, then you could potentially draw 4 cards on your turn and up to 4 on your opponents turn should they decide to attack you. Could be fun to splash in Modern Slivers with Bonescythe Sliver or in a shell like GW D&T where Blade Splicer and Thalia both give you First Strike damage and the deck already runs Noble Hierarch. It's also kind of neat that it interacts well with Rafiq of the Many.
You'd also be enabling your opponent in the mirror. That's a big part of the reason why I thought there was a non-zero chance that LotV could be reprinted in this block, unlikely as it was. After that last story though it seems like "the Last Hope" is almost certainly coming.
this is true for just about any tutor. getting elvish piper or ysan out early in my anafenza deck basically wins the game if you can't deal with them. playing meekstone at the start of the game with my augy deck will shutdown entire decks

This is why Green/Blue EDH is a plague on the format.

By the way, Tree of Perdition not only combos with Triskadekaphobia but Sorin, Grim Nemesis and Emrakul as well. Not that you need much help to kill people when you're shooting them for 13, but still.
On a more serious note, I'm just happy how much discard is in this set. Here's hoping for some craziness on Oath of Liiliana.

not exactly since cord operates at instant speed can be greatly cost reduced and brings into play directly. If it resolves you're already half fucked.
Elvish Piper still gives you sorcery speed responses without a haste enabler.

To provide commentary on how the Nahiri thing turns out:
Arlinn Kord teams up with the vampires dealing with the threats in the woods.
Thalia is also there with her order and they all seem to be able to use the power of the geists of slain cathar to help the gatewatch repel the eldrazi.
Sigarda and her horde of humans try to stop Brisela and her horde of eldrazi angels. Sigarda wins when Brisela tries to meld with her and she strikes from within.
Sorin (along with Olivia) and Nahiri have their fight in the Markov Mannor.
Nahiri tells him he has to sacrifice himself like she did on Zendikar. Sorin thinks that Innistrad is beyond salvation and that he is there to end her once and for all before leaving for good. Nahiri gets upset over his reaction and uses her full power to battle him, Sorin wins in the end.
However Olivia gets mad when she realises Sorin has no intention of trying to get rid of Emrakul and turns on him to make him go along with Nahiri's "die for Innistrad" plan.
When Sorin is about to kill Nahiri, Olivia decides to stop him so Nahiri can use her power again to send Emrakul elsewhere, but Sorin kills Olivia instead.
In the confusion Nahiri takes the chance and seals him into a stone prison saying that he has no other choice now but to stay and die with his plane.
Nahiri planeswalks away after she locks Sorin and before emrakul is trapped, with a creepy smile on her face. And there's some hints at her being mentally unstable, as she talks with herself asking where she'd like to go now...

It seems Nahiri's intention was to force Sorin to imprison Emrakul himself so that he'd have to constantly watch over its prison like Nahiri did. I'm guessing she knew the moon could be used to imprison it. However, Sorin decided he didn't want to do that, which surprised Nahiri. She didn't expect that a random group of planeswalkers would come along and seal Emrakul themselves.

It means they were too big of wusses to kill a character with multiple cards because all of them have thick shiny plot armor. Venser will pop back up any day now at this rate.
Plot armor is the worst. I mean, I get that he's "immortal" but doesn't he have a need to drink blood or get sustenance one way or another? Guess he'll be fine, eventually.

Eventually I'm pretty sure this cast is going to rotate and we might see color changes for anyone who leaves it, but until then yes, pretty sure this is the case.
They've said they have him slotted as a G/W character now but I'd like to see them actually give him a full Naya card. (Same with Sarkhan and the Jund card we never got.)
It's difficult to actually be more of a turd person than the insane revenge-fueled person who will risk sacrificing an entire plane to an unimaginably powerful ancient monster out of an elaborate plan for vengeance, and yet Sorin still somehow manages it.

Much like Emrakul getting locked in the moon, this is actually good storytelling because it's a mirror of previous events -- Sorin locked Nahiri in his Helvault, so she locks him in her cocoon of stone.
They just have some other villain bust her out on purpose. Not too tough.
Nahiri's described plan and motive makes way more sense for a red/white villain than just "well you pissed me off so I'm blowing your world up."
How Nahiri deals with Sorin is PERFECTLY in her colors. Love it.

Well its obviously Emrakul and it was always obviously Emrakul, but I think there was an open question about whether Emrakul would actually show up as a creature and get defeated.

(Also the first time Urza saw Phyrexia was in Planeswalker, where he tried to conquer it with a giant metal dragon and then Yawgmoth swatted him away)

Also I just wanna bring up that I said in the SOI spoiler thread "maybe they don't want mono red to be good" and then a bunch of you laughed at me and told me that would never happen. The term "death of Magic" was used.

The more i think about it Brisela might be a thing in standard, maybe some type of g/w tool box cards with eldrich evolution, Deathmist/New Thalia turns into Avacyn/Thalias Lancers or Gisela (whichever you need) and then the second Evolution goes and finds your 1 of Bruna/Worldbreaker.
Lots of Synergies among the cards there, might be a little fragile but tutoring for any creature is incredibly powerful. If you can land Brisela together id imagine there is not much that can kill them in the set other than a wrath.
Does traverse the ulvenwald suddenly become reliable enough to see play now that Emerge is a thing ?
New Tamiyo is a card i want to love , but seems to missing that "it" factor. Will take testing to see how I feel, seems better than Kiora but weaker than Nahiri if i had to place her somewhere. Its not a slam dunk instant powerhouse like Ugin, Elspeth, or even Gideon.

Yeah, as soon as he got to Phyrexia, he started saying, "It's a real shame we have to destroy this place, it's pretty neat." Then Urza let a Planeswalker he knew was evil but brought along anyway kill another Planeswalker so he would be morally justified in blowing up his spark with a device he already had installed on a giant robot he was piloting, and used it to blow up a big part of Phyrexia. Then, when he reached Yawgmoth in the center, he decided Phyrexia was too cool to destroy. Gerrard also defected to Phyrexia because Yawgmoth promised to bring his girlfriend back to life, so Yawgmoth forced the two to fight in an arena, bringing them back to life whenever one died.
After Urza got his head cut off, he finally realized again he should destroy Phyrexia.

It was less "concede" and more "Well, I've spent millennia planning to stop Yawgmoth and the Phyrexians, including forcing people, groups, and planes to sacrifice themselves in the process. I know that part of my current plan was not just allowing but depending on one of the eight Planeswalkers with me to betray us, killing two fellow PWs, so I could justify using his very existence to power my bombs to blow up Phyrexia. But...now that I get another look at how awesome this place is, with all these cool artifacts and artificial stuff I've changed my mind! I wanna be on Yawgmoth's team now! Please? Can I pretty pretty please? I'll be your best friend!"
Edit: Beaten. But long story short: The end of the Weatherlight Saga was a total mess and Urza is, without a doubt, the biggest asshole in Magic by several orders of magnitude.

If you actually land Brisela you're almost assuredly going to win, but the problem is that you have to be alive to cast Bruna with Gisela in the graveyard or on the battlefield, and Gisela dies to every commonly played piece of removal in Standard.
The problem is that the combo isn't exactly incidental in your deck, e.g. you don't just accidentally assemble Brisela.
Yup, well it wasn't the first time he saw it but after all the time and effort to build titans and recruit planeswalkers and letting some of them get slaughtered so he could slaughter one in turn... and then he suddenly decides he doesn't want to destroy all the technology and knowledge in phyrexia, tries to cheat twice to kill Gerrad, the fucking lunatic. To be fair he was always played as a bit of a douchebag villain only out for himself in some ways. I kind of miss him as a character, having a 4000+ year old dickwalker at the center of storylines could have been great with more consistent writing. An urza vs bolas conflict could have been great. Still holding out hope for a return of chromium as a match for bolas since he was portrayed as a "good" character in earlier stories.
But then again I like corny lore.
Blue-Black Madness is also very strong as is Green-Blue investigate.

The deck probably able to get the most out of Bruna might be humans. In match ups that will almost always go long she can provide a ton of value. The deck already plays a 4 of of an angel. Could slot a 1 of Gisela into it and have Bruna in the side.

Good call. Those sound like good decks I need to keep my eyes open for.
