I understand your point but to a degree, @D A R K isn't wrong. If Microsoft isn't stopped at this juncture, what's to stop them picking up EA next? And having both COD and BF day 1 exclusive on Game pass?

I've said it numerous times before, ATVI deserve better than Kotick and Lulu. A workplace so toxic it leads to suicide is a stain on our industry. So any deal which removes the horse shit at the exec level is a good thing. The problem is, Microsoft has gone on record stating that buying a publisher their way of competing. You've seen the numbers and stats right? if not, let me summarize just a few points of the reality XBOX is facing.

GP - 10% of Revenue.
Cloud gaming - Dismissed and unused by their own metrics
EU console instal base - 4 Million
XBOX Studios - Can't compete with PS also TLOU beyond our capabilities
Japan - Non-existent
Globally - 30% of New PS5 customers didn't own a PS console previously

What does COD do to improve this situation? If purchasing publishers is their method of competing, EA is next. Then Rockstar, or vice versa.
Directly, nothing. They are trying to do what Phil accused PlayStation of doing. Growing by making PlayStation smaller. They want to limit PlayStation's access to popular IPs.

You know even with COD, if Sony was to dive back into the fps genre, Microsoft would be in high levels of trouble right?

Playstation isn't the dominant platform because of COD, it's because of their exclusives.

Without COD on Playstation, there isn't much competition for Sony to compete with on their platform.

TLOU Fractions with a fps mode withvr support, online co-op and battle royal is all Sony needs. It doesn't even have to be better than COD, it just need to be an alternative.

And it's not like it wasn't their plan either.
PlayStation plans to launch more than 10 live service games before March 2026

This imo is what Microsoft meant by competition. They know they can't complete on the single player front and the multi-player front isn't even debatable. Without COD, Sony will eat even more of the market share by time the PS6 releases.

And this ain't no joke either, cause Microsoft knows it.

Well Sony themselves said that they would go out of business without COD and pretty much trashed their own titles to make it seem like they would go out of business without it.

Not an important deal for Nintendo and why wouldn’t they sign?

MS: We want to bring some version of COD to switch/switch 2. It’s going to help our acquisition case.

Nintendo: Ok.

And you think that assigning a development team to the project means anything? Have you played any of the Wii/WiiU versions of COD? Give me a break. Cloud version or not, the Nintendo versions of the title will ALWAYS be gimped based on their hardware strategy.

Its never going to look like the ps5 or xbox version but it could look like the ps4 and xbox one version and as long is its 60 fps we are gucci.

Thats even assuming a CoD 2025 (the earliest we would see a Nintendo-port release should this go through) is still releasing on PS4/X1.

More likely they go for the low hanging fruit and port Warzone/COD mobile. The promise of "COD on Switch" does not mean mainline COD games will be on Switch.

"Accuse other side of which you are guilty."

They are, but they're also investing in cloud and PC which is the expansion portion. The whole sub model is based on growth. They're putting an app on Samsung TVs also.

Total nonsense. Playstation doesn't get smaller by more gamers having more ways to access popular Activision Blizzard games like Call of Duty and Diablo. That's why that argument is so weak.

Sony has no claim to Call of Duty that outweighs the benefits of 150 million+ new gamers being able to play Call of Duty in more ways and across many more devices, including Playstation. This is why Sony is headed for a clear defeat on this deal. And considering how much public importance they've placed on blocking the deal, I hope they're ready for that massive tumble their stock is about to take once it does get approved. Elevating blocking this deal publicly has consequences also. By then, once Sony realizes their efforts have failed, it's my suspicion that's when they'll try to enter into some kind of agreement for Call of Duty with Microsoft, hoping to stave off the worst.

Oh, and Sony also doesn't want to see Xbox as a gaming business surpass Playstation in revenue, which would almost certainly happen if this deal is approved. It's the stupid stuff Sony fears. Sony fears a more competitive Xbox business. Sony wants a less competitive industry. That's what this is all about.

So we're carving up our own definitions then? lol

Anyway, how about other games then? Octopath Traveler is published by SquareEnix, so that should not be counted as an "indie game" right? $60 price tag. So that is a AAA game locked by Xbox, right? Yakuza LAD next-gen, Warhammer Darktide, STALKER 2, etc. should all count too, right?
I don’t care about those games. Stay on topic next time 👍🏾

This is one of the dumbest post I saw.

Activision is a third party, you know what that means ? they provide their games on all platforms that make business sense. Clue : there is no market for cod on switch for various reasons.

And Microsoft is 1st party . You know what that means ? There is a risk that the majority of players a point in time will not be able to access Activision games.
It's what happened with Bethesda.

Stop with this nonsense of 150 millions players, and think by yourself.

People can smell a fanboy a mile away you know? We're not dumb.

Someone who is really neutral doesn't need to state that he or she is neutral.
Playing wow mythic right now, and it's not on console AFAIK.
