It would be the most stupid thing ever and very spiteful but I think MS would try such a move.
Not like good guy Sony has done anything spiteful recently is it? Oh wait...

Massive investment for an eggshell.I think your in for a big suprise and a rude awakening if you keep thinking Xbox with the full backing of it trillion dollar parent company won't make up any ground.
That is bullshit. Sony won the console generation because of one thing and one thing only: exclusive games! Sony has the IP´s that the whole world wants to play.you seemed to forget the 360 destroyed Sony until they made the mistake of going after motion controls, if they hadnt have done that then we would be in a very different situation now.
Like? Not like good guy Sony has done anything spiteful recently is it? Oh wait...

Xbox now is outright buying the Devs and IP wile Sony is still doing timed exclusive Sony need to respond and buy something.Xbox used to do those deals all the time but now Sony isn't allowed?
Titanfall? Tomb Raider? Dead Rising?
As I say, what happens now when Xbox still get destroyed at market? Do they buy another 2 or 3 publishers?
They seem to be willing to destroy the entire industry if they don't get their way....
They should, to keep things balanced. But they will still win easily.Xbox now is outright buying the Devs and IP wile Sony is still doing timed exclusive Sony need to respond and buy something.
Microsoft could just buy all the the studios they have so much money to burn. Better yet they could just buy Sony and win next generations by default lol.
I seriously don't understand the hype around Sega anymore, if this were the 90's yeah, but these days it is such a meh publisher just like Konami that are way past it and are basically now only running on nostalgia.
They obviously have some truly beloved franchises, but they just don't seem to fit into today's game sphere unless they are on the Switch. Personally, I would find this a waste of money unless it is a bargain buy. I know I will get a tongue lashing for this, but this is just my stance on Sega. There are simply far superior Japanese games studios that have risen to prominence that I would be prefer over Sega.
That is the question...hopefully if anything goes down, the government will block it.Would they buy the whole of SegaSammy, then? If so, how do Sammy fit within Microsoft with their focus on pachislot and pachinko machines? And will the Japanese government give their OK?

Microsoft has a ton of money to burn, but the Xbox division is not a major part of Microsoft. Each division gets its own budget allocated to it, Xbox is not going to be pilfering money from Azure for example.Microsoft could just buy all the the studios they have so much money to burn. Better yet they could just buy Sony and win next generations by default lol.
Yeah and they could probably get access to any Disney / Marvel IP if they wanted... lets say to do a Wolverine or Deadpool game.T
LOL, that's because SONY already OWNS those sweet first-party studios that Microsoft is still trying to catch up with. Some of you act like SONY doesn't own some of the best studios and IP´s in the whole industry.
You know Sony (or other studios) would have to agree to be bought, right?
It's not like MS runs into their HQ with money and just buys them because they feel like it.
Yes, the Zenimax acquisition is really big, but we all should take a deep breath and be realistic right now.
Im not gone to say anyone win until atleast 5 years later MS might buy Ubisoft, Sega, Capcom than what will Sony do than they must respond or be left behind. They should, to keep things balanced. But they will still win easily.
While that is true, lets not exaggerate. They have about 10 studios that actually make good games. Microsoft has basically double that now.T

What you notice from Atlus is they rarely make games for multiple platform, games like Catherine and up coming is Nocturne HD is very rare case. This even true with Vanillaware, its very rare for them to release games that available for multiple platform day one. What if Microsoft makes Atlus release their games in all platforms?
Like?
They do but now Xbox has more.T

yeapStill waiting for that $50.00 price reduction that 4chan said was coming...

Yeah but what if Microsoft gives them a bigger budget and help them out with ports to make sure the game is ready to every platform day 1?What you notice from Atlus is they rarely make games for multiple platform, games like Catherine and up coming is Nocturne HD is very rare case. The only think I can see is MS is making deal with Saga to release couple of games to their system but I can't see Sega making games exclusive just for Xbox since most of their audience are in Japan which they mostly own Nintendo and Playstation systems instead of Xbox.
Yeah but what if Microsoft gives them a bigger budget and help them out with ports to make sure the game is ready to every platform day 1?
Again i think Atlus would be one of the situations where Microsoft would let them release it to Playstation and Switch.
Would you still be against it?
FF has always been associated with PS.FF timed exclusive.
One of the most popular Marvel characters exclusive to PS in Avengers.
Heck even two MS owned games are still timed to PS5.
Trying to starve their competition of content, when they’re already on top, is spiteful in my opinion. This is why MS have opened their wallet. So you can blame Sony![]()
It isn't really about me if I would be against or not, as long as I get my games I'm happy but Why would MS let their exclusive studio release games for Playstation and Nintendo? It just wouldn't make any sense.Yeah but what if Microsoft gives them a bigger budget and help them out with ports to make sure the game is ready to every platform day 1?

They only purchased the studios recently. As for off the top of my head:MS had several of that studios before yesterdays acquisition and we still didn't see any remarkable games.
Don't get me wrong, there were some good ones - but where are the ones matching the quality of Sony's exclusives?
That's why I just don't want to get a XSX or XSS right now - they have potential, but still have to proof they can turn that into actual games.
Still waiting for a blockbuster Rare game till that day for example...

Spider-man is basically a Sony character

Next Fable
Avowed
Next Fallout
Starfield
Next Elder Scrolls
Next Doom
Next Wolfenstein
As for Rare, Sea of Thieves is now amazing.

MS had several timed exclusive announcements before that (Yakuza 7 next-gen, The Medium).
You can't blame anyone, because both are playing the same game all the time for years.
One just decided to up the game, open the wallet and go one step further.
Because Atlus is in a complete different situation than Bethesda when it comes to their fan base, if they do buy Sega (i don't think that will happen), to me it wouldn't make sense not to release their games in every platform. It isn't really about me if I would be against or not, as long as I get my games I'm happy but Why would MS let their exclusive studio release games for Playstation and Nintendo? If Sega would still release their in games in other platforms after being part of Xbox then what is the point of MS buying Saga in the first place? That would be huge waste of money for them.Because Atlus is in a complete different situation than Bethesda when it comes to their fan base, if they do buy Sega (i don't think that will happen), to me it wouldn't make sense not to release their games in every platform.
Atlus is already losing millions of sales not releasing Royal on Switch/PC which is a stupid business decision.
the only good game they have left is Yakuza... and even that isn't really Sega it's just the Ryu Ga Gotoku studio.
Yup, fair comment and MS haven’t exactly been angels in the past. Tomb Raider springs to mind!
But the rumours of Sony knocking on doors to major Devs, seeking exclusivity to add another nail to the Xbox coffin - MS had to react.
Sadly I would have loved to see MS doing their own exclusive deals, and polishing their own first-party studios to show they can keep up with Sony without acting like the rich super kid that has to buy the number one place with $$$.
It's all about the gamepass. They want to make sure people stay subscribed to it, a studio like Atlus adds another 4+ great games in a generation. If Sega would still release their in games in other platforms after being part of Xbox then what is the point of MS buying Saga in the first place? That would be huge waste of money for them.

No way, SEGA needs to come back to the USA where it belongsThat is the question...hopefully if anything goes down, the government will block it.
I like a lot of MS games and I'm surprised people don't see what the plan is. It's not to compete It's control. And you painting the largest corporation as a non-threat to consumers (especially with their track record spanning decades), while minimizing the very real negative impact that a large publisher buyout is about to have on the gaming industry clearly shows your own extremely advanced stage of seduction.
Exactly this! Why would MS waste huge amount of money to buy entire studio if Saga/Atlus still end up releasing their games in other platforms? But they could do exactly that without buying Sega as a whole, right?
They could just pay them money to release those games on Gamepass day 1.
I believe this would be a cheaper and better solution for everyone involved, but maybe they have interest in giving studios a bigger budget to work with, something that wouldn't happen with just a gamepass deal. But they could do exactly that without buying Sega as a whole, right?

You need to look at MS perspective, if they are putting that much money to buy whole Saga then they want their games to be exclusive on Xbox, at end of the day MS is a business, they are not working for charity here.I believe this would be a cheaper and better solution for everyone involved, but maybe they have interest in giving studios a bigger budget to work with, something that wouldn't happen with just a gamepass deal.
