I installed the update last night and now all of a sudden my wireless dongle for the Xbox controllers no longer works? It's weird as hell.

Is 23H2 still rolling out or is it available to everyone now?

I'm still on Windows 11 Home 23H2 and have no option to update to 24H2 yet.

It's available for 11 Home right? Or is it just Pro?

Just think, investors rewarded this type of behavior by making MS one of the most valuable companies in the world. Our current system is broken beyond repair and we will continue getting worse and worse products as long as it makes more money.

In certain cases, the installation process halts prematurely, stopping between 90% and 95% completion. For my intel system that was on 23H2 I never did get the update. When I built my new AMD system I just used the 24H2 installer and then was on the latest from day one. Not sure why it's been taking them so long to roll it out.

After installing patch "(KB5046740) 2024-11 Cumulative Update Preview for Windows 11 Version 24H2 for x64-based Systems" a few days ago I'm seeing slightly lower performance in games, like 1-3 fps lower on avg. Anyone else seeing the same?
At first I didn't even notice since it's such a small drop but I just happened to be re-running my benchmarks yesterday and noticed it.

Edit: Thinking about a few other things I've also seen, I haven't seen an OS release this janky in a while. Hopefully MS can fix some of this stuff soon...

Edit 2: Also, I wish there was a way to remove the focus mode buttons from the bottom of the calendar when you click on it from the taskbar

Just updated. System froze mid-update which is always kinda nerve-racking but got it back on track and now it's done. Got a driver error which turns out is a MSI LED light driver and a quick google taught me that there's not much to do about it at the moment, which kinda sucks.

Also my system is insanely slow at the moment but maybe it's still running all kinds of processes post-update.

Run on powershell, one at a time.

Just found a new bug: I'm using Windows 11 Dynamic Lighting to control the RGB on my motherboard and it works great but I've noticed that when I lock my computer then it turns off the effects I've set and goes back to the mobo default effects/colors. As soon as I unlock the PC then it starts back showing the colors/effects that I've set. Why, Microsoft?

Still don't have it on my main PC, but it was there straight away when I moved my Plex to a small 8th gen Intel build 😅 Not sure if I'm missing out on much, but I guess Microsoft are trying to iron out stuff before making it more available

This is according to an updated support document first spotted by Windows Latest.


Microsoft quietly updated its document on January 16 with a clear note: Windows 11 24H2 has entered the most significant phase of the rollout. It’s now automatically downloaded and installed when Microsoft considers your device to be fully compatible with the operating system.

Microsoft isn’t auto-updating enterprise users to Windows 11 24H2 yet. The forced rollout, also known as “automatic” rollout, is limited to those with Home and Pro SKUs of Windows 11, and that includes the majority of us. This is still staged, which means not everyone will begin seeing Windows 11 24H2 automatically starting this week.

Microsoft released update KB5049981 for Windows 10, KB5050009 for Windows 11 24H2, and KB5050021 for prior Windows 11 versions earlier this month. All three are routine security updates, but Windows Latest reports that KB5050021 introduces minor changes for the date and time settings.

Microsoft's support team has acknowledged certain issues with these updates, including impacts on Open Secure Shell and Citrix components. However, users have reported additional bugs, such as problems with DAC drivers, Wi-Fi connectivity, and USB devices. Windows Latest notes that webcam and Bluetooth headphones stopped working after installing KB5050009. Finally got the 24h2 update over the air!! Been waiting months if you read my comments in this thread.

A little weird that it finally gets pushed out to me the day that msft reports earnings. Wonder if it has anything to do with trying to pad numbers for next quarter or something.

Well so far so good with the 24h2 update, i like how my screens get faster out of sleep mode on my laptop. So no complains so far. Also played valhalla and mirage from ubisoft and no crashes.
