I installed the update last night and now all of a sudden my wireless dongle for the Xbox controllers no longer works? It's weird as hell.
I can never update my Windows. Every time I get a download error.
Just think, investors rewarded this type of behavior by making MS one of the most valuable companies in the world. Our current system is broken beyond repair and we will continue getting worse and worse products as long as it makes more money.Yep, between no QA, eviscerated support and the 18 months contract rules no wonder their development is shit.![]()
Yep, it’s all very dystopian. And let’s not even talk about Private Equity and Hedge Funds.Just think, investors rewarded this type of behavior by making MS one of the most valuable companies in the world. Microsoft recently released an optional update, designated KB5044384, targeting Windows 11 version 24H2. This update was intended to rectify several reported software bugs and enhance system stability. However, post-release feedback from users has highlighted significant installation challenges associated with this patch. During the installation process, the update fails to progress smoothly, encountering errors at multiple stages. Specific error codes reported include 0x800f0922, which often relates to issues with the installation component; 0x800736b3, typically indicating problems with the component store; and 0xc015001a, which may pertain to issues with the Windows Update service. In certain cases, the installation process halts prematurely, stopping between 90% and 95% completion. Other instances report that errors occur only after the system undergoes a mandatory reboot, preventing the update from finalizing successfully.
For my intel system that was on 23H2 I never did get the update. When I built my new AMD system I just used the 24H2 installer and then was on the latest from day one. Not sure why it's been taking them so long to roll it out.Anyone know when they're going to finish the rollout for 24h2?
I literally just got an update today for a cumulative update preview for 23h2.
Scratching my head when I'll be able to download 24h2.

Is this safe to update to? My computers are saying it is available.
Just updated. System froze mid-update which is always kinda nerve-racking but got it back on track and now it's done. Got a driver error which turns out is a MSI LED light driver and a quick google taught me that there's not much to do about it at the moment, which kinda sucks.
Also my system is insanely slow at the moment but maybe it's still running all kinds of processes post-update.
There are still some minor bugs. But nothing serious.
The worst thing is that some Ubisoft games crash with this version.
On 3 of my computers now. Still not available on 2 more.Still waiting to get 24h2.
More important, what does it break, 24H2 has been nothing but chaos for Windows users since it rolled out. This month's new 24H2 patch is out: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us...100-2894-bdbfb097-ea20-487d-9171-718d15e26f1b
Looks like a second month in a row of nothing but security fixes and no bug fixes...
Starting January 16, 2025, Microsoft has begun automatically downloading Windows 11 24H2 on fully-compatible Windows 11 PCs.
This is according to an updated support document first spotted by Windows Latest.
Microsoft quietly updated its document on January 16 with a clear note: Windows 11 24H2 has entered the most significant phase of the rollout. It’s now automatically downloaded and installed when Microsoft considers your device to be fully compatible with the operating system.
Microsoft isn’t auto-updating enterprise users to Windows 11 24H2 yet. The forced rollout, also known as “automatic” rollout, is limited to those with Home and Pro SKUs of Windows 11, and that includes the majority of us. This is still staged, which means not everyone will begin seeing Windows 11 24H2 automatically starting this week.
Well rip my computer, its time i was chosen.

Does anyone know of a group policy setting that can stop the update?![]()

Recent mandatory patches for Windows 10 and 11 are causing issues with USB connections, Bluetooth devices, and several other functions. Users experiencing problems should consider rolling back to a previous version. Those concerned about potential issues and who have not yet updated their systems this month may want to delay the installation of these patches.
Microsoft released update KB5049981 for Windows 10, KB5050009 for Windows 11 24H2, and KB5050021 for prior Windows 11 versions earlier this month. All three are routine security updates, but Windows Latest reports that KB5050021 introduces minor changes for the date and time settings.
Microsoft's support team has acknowledged certain issues with these updates, including impacts on Open Secure Shell and Citrix components. However, users have reported additional bugs, such as problems with DAC drivers, Wi-Fi connectivity, and USB devices. Windows Latest notes that webcam and Bluetooth headphones stopped working after installing KB5050009. Software-related bugs have also affected tools like the Snipping Tool, the Alt+Tab function, and the Task Manager.
Users with cache-less Western Digital NVMe SSDs should download the company's firmware patch before upgrading to Windows 11 24H2 to avoid BSODs. Additionally, Microsoft temporarily delayed the update for users with certain Ubisoft games installed following reports of crashes, but the affected games have since received patches. Users also reported problems with eSCL-based USB devices like scanners, printers, and modems.
Windows 11 24H2 introduces new features, including Copilot+ GenAI tools like auto-generated captions, super resolution, and an image creator. Other additions include support for Wi-Fi 7, Sudo, remote desktop controls, and more.
