My sisters used to work as dancers on board a number of different cruise ships
and have some good tips

Always make sure you eat at the start of the designated meal times...if you come late you get microwave leftovers or what someone else did not eat off their plates

Never...Ever drink the water from the Taps..Showers..Fountains...Live off bottled water or coke

Many of the single crew male and female will most likely have a std or 3...uk cruises you are more likely to catch herpes than any other cruise in the world...you poms are dirty fuckers

some ships have casinos on them....dont go there....you will either lose your money or make some eager scammers aware that you have money to burn and they will follow you back to your room where they will either ransack your room when you leave or beat the shit out of you for your money....Mafia of various regions love ship cruises..the ships crew wont do shit as they could end up throat slit and overboard pretty quick

Some ships have areas where nobody goes...dont go exploring....also dont let your kids wander Pedos love ship cruises

Someone offers you cheap sim cards dont buy them...they are most likely stolen

Nothing is Free...if its free now it will cost you later

If your Gay you will love ship cruises

I've been on 12+ cruises of varying lines and none of them have been like this. I've actually won quite a bit at the casinos. The leftovers thing is just flat out wrong. Nobody has tried to sell me anything (other than spa packages). A lot of things are free... like room service, food, buffet, 24 hour pizzeria/burger spot, swimming pool, shows, bar entertainment, events on the ship. The only things that aren't free are gift shop stuff (duh), booze (unless its a special event) and the specialty restaurants.

Never go on a cruise without one, Cruise rooms usually have like 1-2 Power outlets, it's awful if you have alot of electronics with you.

Also bring basic meds and such, and empty bottles too, You can sneak on booze

The Surge is a must, love it even on trips now. Also for smuggling alchohol, this water canteen was undetectable for getting on board for us

I love cruising so much I opened my own cruise agency! I try to cruise at least once a year (can't beat discounts in your own vacation). in all seriousness, relax, freestyle the trip and explore the ship as there are all kinds of nooks and crannies on the ship.you will be hooked

If you bring a surge protector, be sure to bring one that has a low profile plug, maybe one that is 90°, so it doesn't stick so far out of the wall. Otherwise you might not be able to get it to fit.

Nobody ruins my family vacation but me...and maybe the boy!
I really wanna go on a cruise, it sounds like an excellent way to de-stress. Really wanna go on one of the Oasis class Royal Caribbean cruises, and even on one of the Disney cruises one day.

I've heard bad things about Carnival though.

This was the BEST vacation of my life, I'll share some photos later, but anyone on the fence about crusing please do it. Just an AWESOME experience.

Glad you had a great time. Cruises are very much what you make of them.

Glad you had such a great time. I felt the same about my cruise. It's a shame some people are so close-minded about the idea.

I'm not surprised at all to hear you had a great time. Cruising is my ultimate vacation choice.

In November I went to an upscale resort in Jamaica (Couples) ... I wish id just stuck with cruising, it was horribly humid in JA.

The best thing about cruising to me is just chillin on my balcony with a glass of red while enjoying the ocean breezes.

Thats awesome.. Good to hear you had a good time. Looking back was there anything that you regret not doing or didn't bring?

Planning on going on a cruise myself in Oct/Nov later this year.

Going on a carnival cruise! Excited yet nervous! Any expwricned ccruisers share experiences?

Not much a fan of them (carnival), but I suggest:

Lots of sunscreen.
Bottled Water
Snacks
Cash (be sure to lock it up each night). This will keep you from overspending on stuff.
waterproof camera or camera case

-Edit: gah, didn't see the dates on the op.

Cruises are the shit. Went on one last June (Norwegian Gem) and it was awesome. The Unlimited Beverage package is the tops.

not THAT fat but pretty fat!

This is me on the last day we did ATV's and Swimming with Turtles for only 35 bucks - can't beat that.

You would get banned from the islands if you did that to a turtle in Hawaii. Poor thing.

Me and my girlfriend booked our first this year on Royal Caribbean. Got a balcony room and we're doing a 7-night tour.

Cruises sound like overpriced, floating tourist traps, but fuck it. I need to experience it once in my life.

I've been on a Disney cruise and a Carnival one. Nothing really out of the ordinary to note, I just hope you have calm waters. Getting seasickness on vacation is terrible.

Um hello! You saw me (from a distance) on your cruise. That's pretty noteworthy!!

I can say one thing about cruise food: I certainly shit on a regular schedule when I am on a cruise as opposed to at home.

This.
Did a royal carribean cruise last year around the Norwegian fjords.
Was amazing.
Food was amazing.

But i have never been so regular for a 3pm shit in all my life.

That's precisely what they are. I've done one cruise. Never again.

Basically, if you'd enjoy going to an all-inclusive resort and never going beyond the property, you'll fucking love a cruise. For me, it was my own personal hell.

So glad i brought a lot of pepto (and advil) with me on my cruise. Granted, a lot of things upset my stomach but they overprice most of their medicine so bring whatever you think you might need.

You can even bring pepto pills if you don't want to bring the liquid.

Oh, I love cruises! Like people have said, bring a surge protector. Unless you are in one of the front balcony suites or estate suites, you aren't going to have enough plugs.

Don't worry about bringing books or movies unless they're digital. Most cruise ships provide free movies and have a library. Go to all the on ship events that you can while out at sea. Sometimes cruises randomly pass out money, and otherwise you're getting to experience some neat stuff. If your cruise ship is big enough to have a theatre, you should probably give that a try as well. There's nothing quite like watching Hamlet on a cruise ship.

Bring water bottles for when you go off the boat. If you run out, get some from on the boat before disembarking. Lots of places people will cut off the bottle tops, fill it with lake water, and stick a new cap on.
