Naughty Dog is currently hiring writer for Intergalactic

Depends on where you live. In Santa Monica, CA where they want this person to be in the office part time it's barely touching lower middle class.
Yep! The pay seems quite middling in the games industry compared to prevailing wages in other software/tech.

Probably most of Intergalactic's main story and dialogue is written, but they're still fleshing out thinks like audio logs, notebook entries, NPC dialogue, blood written on walls etc.
Yeah it sounds more like that. But it also means the final game is likely out in late 2026 or later. For the scope of the game that they claim, stuff like this is probably completed 8 to 12 months before release. So hiring, onboarding and generating content that requires collaboration across the board… no chance in 2025 imho

This devs must stop writing cinematic experiences and start making fun games.
Why would a videogame need a team to write a fking story?
This is absolutely ridiculous. One of the reasons I like souls games is that there is no bullshit cut scenes and maybe that's why they keep pumping games.

Alyssa would be a perfect fit for Modern Gamer Naughty Dog.

Especially if they/them matches they/them/their haircut with the protagonist again.

Or The Professor from Firewalk.

Why would they stop making them? Critics love them and Sony's marketing sells them. Unfortunately they didn't have the balls to give Astro Bots the marketing budget of the cinematics.

I like this way of working with building a world - its often when you hang around and throw ideas at each other that you come up with lines that sound natural. And create something that people can relate to. As opposed tonone writer writing it all out from a vision in their head, all of it. I dont know if thats how Tarantino writes his movies, or if hes using a writer team. I think stand up comedians do it when working out their stuff, or at least Louis CK was talking about doing it. The opening scene in Reservoir Dogs at the restaurant feels like something they hacked out together, but I dont know maybe it was all scripted. But I think either you have to be a genius like QT, or try and hack stuff like that out with a team.

Isn't the answer simple and obvious - gaming is a medium full of many developers, and each developer can freely decide what elements they want to include in their game. And on the other side, the gaming a can decide what they want to spend their money on.

The fact is, ND have an excellent track record and are simply doing what's worked for them since Uncharted 2.
