Loved all of them. Excited to hear a new one is on the way. From the reveal, seems to be a way off.

They don't hate 2, it's hard to hate the best game in the series. But it wasn't a carbon copy of the first game. That's why some people had a hard time with it.

But it's by far the best game in the Darksiders series
Yeah I was just confused going through the responses because I remember 2, at the time, being this massive improvement

Why settle for 60fps? A midrange PC can run those at 120fps without breaking a sweat.

PC gamers will be doing our own remasters.
While this is nice...it sort of does nothing to solve his issue as a console gamer. It's like trying to advertise a different platform to someone who has no interest.

Id only consider Genisis different because of topdown view but its still hack and slash with platforming.
Warhammer has a traditional FPS and a Doom-like FPS. I consider them different types of games because of it even though you still shoot stuff. I just want the same for Darksiders.

I played Darksiders 2 on my Xbox 360 (got all the trophies aka arc) and played again the remastered version on PS4 and I trying to figure what improvement are you talking about.

Power to you, i also have a 4070, but i wanna play on couch using my PS5
I play PC games from my couch all the time. The "worse video card of all time" 4060ti system I have connected gives me a better experience than the PS5 connected to the same TV.

PS3 was 50% console, 50% PC, PS4 was 65% console, 35% PC, PS5 is 10% console, 90% PC.

Exclusives kept me playing on consoles, now almost everything is on PC and runs better there along with with infinite forwards compatibility. Sure some old games require following a guide to get working on a modern system. The same can't be said for the hundreds of games in my PS3 collection, an emulator on the PS5 might not be perfect. But you can't even try. On the other hand a whole bunch of those PS3 games run fine on a PC, and it doesn't even need to be a power house. The Steam Deck plays many just fine.

Why does everyone hate 2?
For me it was a dissapointment

They had a strong concept with Darksiders 1,but rather than refine it with new mechanics they made too many changes(to the point it feels like playing a different IP), add filler, it has more dungeons but less interesting and distinctive,it feels bloated, the story, characters aren't as cool ,they made the game 3x bigger but the design isn't as cohesive as 1 ,honestly it feels like they wasted budget making it AAA when all they had to do was Darksiders 1.5 and i would have enjoyed it much more

1 was great, 2 was better, 3 was crap. The drop off in quality was like walking off a cliff.

The isometric one wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t what I wanted from a Darksiders game.

After 2, everything was ass.
So, I am not exactly thrilled at this announcement, especially a worded announcement with no gameplay or artistic direction to display.

Disagree. The second one was good, but the first one was better. The second one was far too bloated and focused too much on quantity and not quality.

I would say that "loot" actually hampered the second game. I haven't played the third, although I do plan to before the new one releases.

For me, the Cathedral "dungeon" in the first game was really the highlight of the series. A Zelda-style dungeon crawler with great combat, and given Zelda hasn't even been adhering to their original formula in fucking 13 YEARS, there is a pretty clear hole in the market they could capitalize on.

As much as I used to want a multiplayer game to play as all of the Horsemen, I think I'd be much more inclined to have a single-player outing now. I don't need super crazy depth of customization either, just make sure that each of the Horsemen plays differently. Being able to switch between them on the fly would be sweet, but not the biggest deal in the world if you switch between them in a safe area or something.

not gonna lie, at first I wasn't paying attention and thought the title said "Darkstalkets" and got kinda disappointed after I came in. but Darksiders is good too. I played the first 2 and had loads of fun. had not played the 3rd and the 4th one yet, but if they're able to keep to the feel of the first 2, then I'm down for sure.

Give Strife a proper 3d “Zelda style” entry, only have the gameplay focus on his guns instead of melee. A nice open world with proper dungeons and static loot, miss me with that randomized loot shit. Throw in the horse and Hamill as Vulgrim and there you have it.

Finished Darksiders 2. I will jump to D3 which gets the most negative feedback I believe. Will see. 1 and 2 were amazing.

Why do people hate the third game so much? I think it's absolutely great and in some ways better than the second game. Although, the second game has a much better protagonist but the third game is great. It's a bit closer in style to the first game.

I loved Darksiders 3. I know people like to call it a Souls clone but I def felt it was way more a combo of Metroid/Mega Man with some Soulslike characteristics. AND NO LOOT :pie_grinning_big_eyes:

Just wish it had a fucking map lol

I don't think I've ever played a Souls game. But from what I've seen of those games, Darksiders 3 does not seem like one.

Plus my understanding is that you can change the gameplay so it either plays like a Souls game or like a normal Darksiders game so I don't see the big deal.

Darksiders 1 was a good game, a really good game. But it was nowhere close to the quality and scope of 2. In gameplay, story, characters, settings.

Disagree. The second one was good, but the first one was better. The second one was far too bloated and focused too much on quantity and not quality.
Disagree. The first one was good but the second one was better. The first one was way too barebones and felt like they were finding their ways and the second felt like they knew what worked for the first game and then everything that worked was expanded upon.
Third one was meh though.
