A lot can change in a year. Also, I expect a major art style change and ray-tracing.
But what are you talking about, yeah you can in some degree implement raytracing but art
style of course not, the time required to make the assets is incredible high and that is why
options like Quixel are so attractive from Indies to AAA devs.

I will trust in 343 but that games has more problems than art style or the missing RT.

that’s in total 1 exclusive
One more than X.

Everything we saw from Sony at PS5 event is targeting either launch or 2021. Meanwhile Avowed and Fable were just teasers like TES 6, Forza entered pre-production phase (2021? 2022?) and Halo will release in 2021.

PS5 is in a similar situation as XSX.

MS are being torched on social-media and rightly so. Hope their fans don't label these journos/industry folks as shills, and instead demand answers as to why the current leadership pinned all their hopes on one solitary title from XGS? Especially when their pipeline for tail end of current-gen was so empty. 5 years to prepare for this, how do they find themselves in this position again?

Sometimes here I read things that make blood cry. While here there is doubt or fear about the possible quality of next generation games, I just finished Ghost of Tsushima on a traditional PS4 1.8TF at 1080p @ 30fps on a € 280 console and together with TLOU2 it has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life as a gamer. I have tried to play these wonderful stories on my € 8,000 4 GPU PC but have not gotten the game to run. I don't know what the problem must be. It will be me?

I have not played Ghost of Tsushima yet, my wife has to finish it first. I enjoyed TLOU2, but not near as much as the first. I bought the PS4 remaster of TLOU the minute it came out. I don't think I would do the same for TLOU2. Technically it's a masterpiece, but the story wasn't as strong. The characters don't elicit the same amount of attachment. They should have went with the original ending.

I honestly feel bad for 343i devs, I have no doubt there’s talent on that studio, but no amount of talent is enough for shitty management. I’m also glad MS delayed the game, saving those MVPs from some awful crunch. I just hope this delay is enough for some big heads to roll and 343i finally push the industry games forward like 1st parties do.

The exclusives were the friends we made along the way. Peace.

Sweet Jesus, I pray for the sanity of Xbox fans everywhere that Sony are not paying big bucks to developers for all those multiplat timed exclusives, imagine if they are true.

It is bad enough being hit by an avalanche, don't need to see a volcano erupt on to of it too.

Just imagine this situation an average gamer go to Best Buy to acquire a new console with a new game will good graphics next gen.

From a side you have:

Medium: AA terror game
Scorn: AA terror/gore game

From other side:

Spiderman: an side adventure of one most successful games in the current gen
Godfall: AA action game

If you know how the market prefer some types of games, specially when come from barely know studios even Godfall which looks
average can have more probability of sell more than those XSX games. Spiderman now can easily sell more units than any game
from Xbox first party but against Medium is close of be a massacre.

We need to remember if Halo is release in 2021 so probably for release window its competency is Horizon, good luck against that title.

People please don't be fanboys justified spend around $500 USD for those two titles (Medium, Scorn) just doesn't make senses, you can say
whatever you want of Spiderman be side story but people we know the work of Insomniac or at least you tell me love to buy the titles of
Bloober team (The Witch and The Observer) and we don't have made it for Ebb software (Scorn).

If you don't have Xbox I can understand you buy the XSX but common many of us already have it, so until 2021 we don't have any title which
can be use as justification and until end of 2022 any title which use XSX as should be.

Xbox needs an event now to show something.

Bet Phil Spencer would be selling his left testicle wishing he had Astro Bot for the release date of the xsx... actually, forget that. I don't think he actually gives a fuck and that's why he didn't think anything was wrong when he greenlit the last Halo demo.

5 years and no first party games in the next gen launch line-up, has this ever happened before?

7 years. Phil was effectively their leader after Don stepped down in 2013. And Phil was head of xbox first party studios going back to 2010.

And its actually worse than that. they wont have any next gen AAA games until 2023. 2022 at the latest which is very unlikely seeing as how every game shown was in early preproduction. so half a gen without next gen games from first party studios. 12 tflops wasted.

Playstation Disadvantage is going to hit even harder. Dont gloat just yet. There are plenty of cross gen games coming out at launch and they might end up running better on the xsx.

They won't run so much better on XsX that anyone will care. Only hardcores watch DigitalFoundry. Casuals just want good games to play and when they find out that PSAdv is giving them exclusive content their mind will be made up. I expect XsX to have better resolution or better effects but it won't be so much better that it will matter to me, or you

Damn. Halo clearly needed work but I'm not sure even a year is enough time to completely overhaul that game's assets from their current gen roots. Halo was the only reason I was tempted to pick up a Series X at launch. Yes even in its current state, I just miss Halo after being away 10+ years. I'll still get one eventually but for those like me who were solely on playstation this past generation, there is very little reason now to pick up an xbox until some of those bigger next-gen exclusives come out. Nothing else in its launch window does it for me.

While PS5 doesn't have a crazy launch line up either, I'm already in that ecosystem so enhanced versions of titles I already own is an obvious draw, and that's in addition to what I know is coming in the first year. This was the window for MS to win back marketshare with folks like me, but with their biggest launch title (really the only one I was interested in) slipping to next year, this is not a great start to the generation for MS.
