It's funny, because I have that exact tower fan at home. If the poster I responded to was somewhat serious, he would've gotten a somewhat serious answer.
But many here seriously think Xbox consoles design for next gen is ludicrous, and for me PS5 is weird as well.

Microsoft showed their console to DF a few days before Cerny's talk.

In their meeting with DF, Xbox stressed multiple times that all the clock speeds on the Series X are constant.
For no reason it seemed. Odd to emphasize that fact.

Then Cerny detailed the PS5's variable clocks just a few days later, so Xbox clearly knew about that before hand.

I assume this Series S rushed announcement is similar. Sony may have something coming soon.
I still think they could have announced in 2 hours which is 9am us time instead of 3 am and no product page . Nothing would have changed

Regular Joe isn’t that tech savy but will bite at the right price, MS. Has a winner on their hands in these times .
And the reason to buy it is as much compelling as the one to buy a current gen Xbox, which is already cheaper by the way. Those going cheap don't give a damn about graphics.

Richard from Digital Foundry just said the other day he's confident Xbox is developing its own form of DLSS upscaling. Coincidence?
No chance with out tensor cores it just doesn't work for nextgen games. Not enough juice using CUs. It is a simple 1080p box for families or people on a budget. It is to assist moving gamepass members to nextgen over the next 2 years with a low entry price.

Temporal techniques at 60 FP|s are just as good, go watch land of Nanite UE5 and tell me what improvemenst ML would bring to the upscaling ? If the answer is none, then who cares ?

There are 14 DLSS games so far, why do you think that is ? Who is going to bother with the training and unique drivers per game ?
One specific model per game was a shortcoming of the first DLSS implementation. DLSS 2.0 uses the same model for every game, but requires slight changes to the rendering pipeline (it needs access to additional buffers). The quality of DLSS 2.0 should be better as the current temporal upscaling techniques and, if executed by dedicated hardware, should also be cheaper performance wise. It can also upscale from very low resolutions.

If AMD has something similar and RDNA 2 accelerates it, I think they should go for it.

Damn they actually went for that design. Surprising that they still haven't announced the Series X price.
I honestly believe if PS5 DE is $399 then this is DOA.

Why? In the GPU market there have been so many times where an extra $100 would net you more performance and yet people take the cheaper option anyway. $299 is the ERP, so there could even be some room there down the road, we know MS loves to firesale hardware. They need to drop the Gold requirement for F2P, don't put walls in place to deter the Fortnite crowd (if that's still going to be a thing).

What if Black Ops Cold War is announced a PS4 PS5 timed exclusive tomorrow during the multiplayer reveal event and Sony announces pre order and pricing. But MS got wind of that and they intentionally leaked the price with an official reveal? Just a hunch since Imran Khan at Kinda Funny Games said he's heard major third party deals for PlayStation that will cause quite a stir when they are revealed.

If XSX is $499 (extremely likely after confirmed by Windows Central), then the price range for PS5 must be around the +/- $50 range
$450-$550 for PS5 is totally fair and better than the $600 predictions that ppl were worried about...

When laying flat on its side, the Series S will actually look pretty good. As long as you can't see the top.
Small box is cool too. Shame its a gimped 500 GB console.

Call of Duty next gen upgrade FAQs are posted in their official place.
If there was exclusiveness to playstation, these FAQs would probably read differently

And the even bigger question is who cares besides Nvidia fans ?

I am more interested in GPU designs that make the temporal better or more accurately less costly in cycles, which will apply to 99 % of games.

This can't be a serious post? DLSS has shown the ability to provide very good results at 1/4 resolution, typical TI falls apart at lower than 1/2 resolution. No need to play down nVidia's solution, it rocks. Especially in terms of bringing otherwise expensive GFX effects to lower-powered skus.
