The Nvidia solution is great, never said otherwise, my point is advanced temporal is equally as good.

1440p to 4k was perfection on UE5 demo, and that was at 30 FPS which always improves with frame rate.Tell me what is the temporal weakness is in UE5 demo and I will concede.

Normally I get either personal insults or which games question in reposte, as nobody can refute temporal has advanced like DLSS 2.0 has technicallyu so they fight the person or ask for a games list. Sony will be using similar in Ratchet and Miles.

Both techniques will help Ray tacing next gen. Seriously, what does DLSS do that very good temporal cannot (like seen in UE5 demo where people could not even determine the resolution at all)

Yeah I very seldom straight ask for particular info I let him give me what he feels is safe then on top of that he will say something like "And that I feel is okay to share" everything else is off the books.

So I doubt I could get shipping info even if I asked

Didn't 1S outsell PS4 several times after release (in the territories that Xbox competes in)? No question though that MS hasn't pushed X1 at all from a marketing perspective in the last 12-18 months, that stings.

Nah they have been always behind even in npd. Rest the world is a blood bath .lets forget that.

Past year npd has also been disaster which aligns with what u said . Not pushing x1s and discontinuing x1x were the reasons

Both techniques try and do the same thing, but that neural network helps DLSS do a lot more with "less" data. The fewer pixels you need to provide to get the end result, the more performance that can be extracted from the hardware. Calculations based entirely on local compute will never compete with ML + Local inference, simple as that.

Hmm, after a quick Google search I see 1S outperforming PS4 on a relatively consistent basis in the US & UK (particularly around the holidays). Shows what's possible when the MS marketing machine is running full tilt.

Sony did mention earlier in the year that shipping could be an issue dye to Covid. I remember reading about them saying they would ship by air to get stock over here sooner. With that said I don't see why this is exclusive to them because both companies are shipping consoles china among other places. Stock could be a real issue for all systems at launch so people better pre-order as soon as they are able to if they want one at launch.

Since last year I was already calling a disc-less version that is cheaper and I totally get why.

But today I offer an alternative theory on pricing.

Blu-ray edition - $399
Digital 1.6GB - $499

  • Sony must be aware that those who are budget-conscious will still want to have the physical disc option.
  • Mom and pop buying their kids a next-gen console will not find the xbox series s or digital edition PS5 at the local game retailers because they will refuse to carry them.
  • The blu-ray will have more retail exposure which is not too important for now (due to Covid-19) but will be in the future.
  • Yes PSN and digital consumption of games is growing but it doesn't mean that the majority of gamers are abandoning physical discs. It's just that more gamers have been buying through the digital store in addition to physical discs.
  • Blu-ray edition will still allow borrowing of games between friends, cousins, and classmates. Think about the children!

They r willing to take more loss on digital edition cause they make more money from it. Not otherway around.

Sony was probably hoping to hit that 599 price point. Now let's see how they shift. They may have shot themselves in the foot a little with the DE, as the perception will be that is the lower end model, yet being virtually the same cost, they can't sell it for much less.

That was my reasoning when I was preaching about the possible disc-less version way back last year. I totally get the idea.

But I'm still convinced my alternate pricing scheme is not impossible.
