hey don’t shoot me, I’m firmly in the camp that doesn’t want one console to have a massive edge over the other and will be buying both, as always.
But usually, USUALLY, if you put your hand in fire without knowing what it is and get burned, you don’t do it again. Ms for some reason if these “leaks” are true, will do something akin to sticking their head under a blow torch this time.

Something is missing to this puzzle, and while leaks are leaks and should be taken with a grain of salt, they do all seem oddly in playstations favour. The silence is deafening from team Xbox in everything. It’s perfectly fine to beat your chest, but there’s a difference between an actual gorilla doing it and the gorilla from the dairy milk genesis advert.

(Just before people freak out about what I am going to say here I am purely talking out of my ass and I have no reason to actually believe this could be true)
One thing that crossed my mind in regards to possible differences in power would be that the Xbox Series X is actually quite a bit ahead of the PS5, because they are aiming at different markets.
I wonder if the PS5 is more of a traditional console. The normal "next step" people would expect if we just had a normal trasition from PS4 -> PS5.
And Xbox Series X is the flagship of the Xbox Series line with more consoles following after it. Think of it like the RTX 2080 Ti of the lineup and Nvidia later releasing the 2070 or 2060 , which would be Lockhart in this case.
While Sony is trying to bring the PS5 at a reasonable price point to the market to have as many customers as possible, Microsoft is doing the exact opposite. The Xbox Series X is a flagship that will be aggressively expensive for a console. Lets just say 800-1000$, but it has the big Navi chip with more CUs and a more expensive cooling system which fits in the PC like Xbox Series X tower.
So lets say Sony is releasing a 500$ PS5 with 9~ TFLOPs Navi10, the Xbox Series X is actually a 13+TF console for more money and a smaller console of the Series (lets just call it Xbox Series S) will come later in 2021 or 2022 which is around where the PS5 is terms of performance and a product for the mass market.
I know this doesn't make much sense and the chance of this actually happening are close to zero, but for some reason I just wanted to get it out of me and write it down.

And Sony is sitting and waiting for MS to not put their hands in fire. It doesn't work this way. This is a competion, and those who outsmart the opponent wins.
The correct analogy would be that you got beaten by a bad guy. You might try to do something (get your physical form together, learn self-defense etc) to have a better chances next time, but it guarantees nothing. You might as well get beaten again even though you tried to prepare well for confrontation.
And to tell the truth - usually the one more devoted wins most of the time (unless they got arrogant). And Sony clearly a little bit more devoted, given all this rumour about in-depth customization of everything.

Unless PS5 show a massive box like X, you can be pretty sure which is the most powerful, they didn't tease that box for any other reason

The way that Housemarque refers to their “publisher” and their big new IP will reveal in “coming months” just sounds like that it will be Sony and announced with PS5 in an event

Seen alot of calls for bans on so called insiders which is cool. But if a person is still posting, im sure the mods have had a lengthy conversation with what ever person. Theres been a few that dont even post anymore because they was faking it. Take everything with a grain of salt. But don’t bash a person especially if they turn out right in the end. Saw a lot of insiders “verified” leave the other site due to that reason. End of the day, leaks whether fake or not keeps us chatting in here and having excitement for the next gen. Enjoy it while we can only happens once every 7yrs or so.

No one knows where the reveal will take place, everyone is just assuming New York. Could be in Iraq for all we know.

Well at that point why not just buy a PC if you don't care which one has 14TF?
Might aswell buy a PC with high end hardware that hits 14TF, has RayTracing and if you really want to you can have a loud PC.
PC is able to play all the games the Xbox Series X can play.

Why? If given the option I’ll pay more for a more powerful PS5. I imagine the Xbox being more powerful will stress you out somewhat given you have no plan to buy one.

Some people just can't be botherd with getting a PC, I know it's hard for some to agree with but alot of people just prefer the comfort zone of the console lol. I wish I could have a £1000 option in a console for example. I wonder what machine we could expect if consoles were that kind of money.

Haha I own a pro now and that’s weaker than x . So no it doesn’t stress me as I follow games . Not power.
I say that because of the all the talks you guys at Xbox discord do based on 9.2 tf ps5 to realize it was all bs is abit much I would imagine
A similarly specced PC would cost you well over a grand

I dont want to derail into a PC build discussion. So I'll just say that a 2080ti costs $1400 in Australia.
If the consoles truly are priced around $499 USD, then they could end up $750-800 here. Even accounting for some fat with a hypothetical 14tf GPU in a console - there's a big gap.

14 Tf in the hands of Sony's first part studios would take those 14 tf of ps5 to a much higher level than any game you can play on PC no matter how much you spend 1200 on a graphics card

I agree that the next gen consoles are having a huge jump compared to this gen. And indeed will probably run and look better than the PC counterpart at equal pricing.
BUT, what happens in 2 years from now when PC hardware will continue to evolve and eventually people will be able to have PC hardware performing exactly the same as PS5/XboXx for the same price you paid your console this year?
The console becomes obsolete vs PC at that point performance wise off-course. I am not talking about all the other reasons people buy consoles but for performance/visuals vs price, PC will always have the upper hand eventually. It's always been like that and I don't see that changing in the future.
That is my personal opinion on the matter.

Nothing happens... that’s how it went from nes/snes and up. PC always had better hardware at some point in the console generation... yet it almost had no games graphically as good as console games ... just saying .. that’s closed box development...

I agree that for consoles it would make more sense given that over time the price of hardware gets cheaper and making a bigger console first would be a huge money sink compared to later on when the processes are much more mature and yield rates higher.
Those were just some thoughts that occured to me. Nothing to be taken too seriously.
