where have you been? future has been banned three times because he refuses to get vetted. three times. he was warned just last night to not pose as an insider. he profusely apologized and literally promised to never play insider just last night.

and then here we are today posing as an insider.

im suprised it wasnt a perm.
I did what MoW said and posted my opinion on the Ban Thread, not wishing to derail this one any longer.

Oh look PS5 is RDNA2 who would have guessed that... :messenger_relieved:

I thought the wording on Techquila article was a bit weird. I'd guess it's an issue of translation, and it appears it was more of a paraphrasing, not a direct quote. If it was a quote from the video provided here, it says:
AMD as a company and RTG as a group we very, very strongly believe in the value and capability of ray tracing, we really do.

And that's the reason why Lisa has very clearly mentioned that RDNA 2, which is the next-gen, will actually support ray tracing in hardware.

The second point is this: most of you are already very, very familiar with this, and it's actually public information now. Both the next-gen Xbox, as well as the next-gen PlayStation, both of them are going to be powered by Radeon, and both of them support hardware ray tracing natively.
It seems this would put to rest the idea that Sony has gone with a 3rd-party RT solution. I've mentioned my thoughts on the RDNA vs RDNA 2 vs semi custom RDNA...if it has RT it doesn't matter which is true. I will say that my first take on the phrasing was accurate...Point 1: PC video cards. Point 2: Consoles.

The article that circulated here a few days ago. Finally, the source of it can be found below:

That is Mithun Chandrasekhar, AMD lead product manager, speaking in the video.

It's just crazy that we're in the 21st century, and there are still people, flat-Earthers, who believe the world is flat and that we've never landed on the moon (Steph Curry). We've man on the moon 6 times by the way. There was this flat-Earther last month who build his own rocket to launch him a whole 5,000 feet into the air to prove that the Earth is flat. He didn't make it after his chute failed during launch, and 5,000 feet isn't going to prove anything to these idiots.

My point is, even with Mark Cerny, and the Playstation 5 video graphic presentation from Sony, and now this video with the AMD's head engineer all stating that the PS5 WILL HAVE HARDWARE RAYTRACING, there will be people on here calling ALL of them liars! Lol.

Well that is pretty clear. I do wonder why XSX RT is supposed to have issues vs PS5 if they use the same AMD HW solution. Are MS and/or devs just that far behind on the software side right now? Or something else?

why do you think that xsx rt is having issues?

Couldn't they have the same teraflops? That the advantage is marked by SSD or RAM?

I think both share the same chip, with minor tweaks. Sony might be trying to better MS with cooling and slightly push further higher. At this point it would seriously make sense to push to 12.6TF so they can say 3x the power of PS4 Pro, 6x PS4 Slim (6.8x original).

So... one God Of War vet goes to Xbox, the other Stadia...

Sonys first party is top shelf though. That’s like leaving a super model for a stay at home mum or a meth addict...
A LOT of Sony's top guys left for other studios this gen.

- Stig went to Respawn
- Amy went to Visceral
- Justin Richmond (U3 and U4 gameplay director and the douchebag responsible for U2 Patch 1.4) went to Riot Games
- Bruce Straley went god knows where
- The Creative Director of Uncharted Lost Legacy went to Crystal Dynamics to make Avengers
- GoW Combat Designer went to Crystal Dynamics to make Avengers

It's pretty normal in this industry. All these high profile departures havent hurt their output one bit. they seem to be promoting from within to replace these people which is actually much better for morale than it is to bring a new guy in to stifle your career.

This is true, actually. I know one person gave up a decent gig because he moved away from family. Only takes one life changing event to make that near impossible.
Yes, sometimes you personally get a better contract, or you like the city more, or you fought with the people in the first job, or you prefer to move in other projects etc...
Dan Houser was maybe the most powerful developer in the world, having the ability to take seven years and almost one billion dollars to make a game from a corporate shitshow like Take Two and act like a nuts perfectionist, there are few men who can do such a thing in today's industry. Yet... he got the fuck out. Sure he has a lot of money, but he was at the head of the single most profitable entertainment product ever (GTA V), no one could aim for more literally.

Wow, legit?

Ok... I was very interested in what The Initiative were doing before, but this?

MS may have a solid chance at a first party studio to rival Sony here. That’s some talent list.

The rumours were perfect dark though right? I had heard some talk about a third person action adventure in the style of uncharted as well...

Very interesting...

Mithun Chandrasekhar, AMD's Senior Product Manager, speaks in this video.

Many people doubted the credibility of the article on the techquila website. That's what makes it clear.

Are we lead to believe the answer to the Power of the PS5 is hidden in the Diablo 4 trailer... I thought it was a joke earlier 🙄😮

I looked it up, and The Initiative is also located in Santa Monica, CA. I wonder if they just packed their stuff into a Radio Flyer wagon and walked across the street to their new job?

Trying to find info on what game(s) The Initiative is making. Seems like they have a lot a former 3rd-person action adventure devs.
