Nindies Summer Showcase coming 8/30 [Over]

I can't wait! Hoping for some release dates/windows for already announced games, as well as a solid collection of games that will be new to the platform.

I also know that this wouldn't happen during a "Nindie" Direct, but I'd love to see Nintendo start putting out smaller experiences on Switch. Give me a BoxBoy collection!

Nintendo UK put up a sizzle reel so maybe some games we won't see tomorrow or guess they don't have a direct?

Seems mostly like "games that we will not see tomorrow", or perhaps we will get release dates for some on the Direct as well? ("Lichtspeer: Double Speer Edition" is September 7, BTW.) Some of these were covered at length during Gamescom, some were announced a couple of months back, and a few were smaller titles.

Personally, I don't think this video was created in a vacuum. It's released one day before Damon Baker's video for a reason.

The more the merrier. Switch is perfect for them, which isn't saying much as at this stage I'd rather be able to play most games on it save Destiny and Overwatch (and even then I'd probably double dip on the latter).

I've held out on Stardew and Hollow Knight to experience them fresh on it, hasn't been easy though. Luckily Splatoon was more of a hit than I'd anticipated, downloading Mario + Rabbids in a couple of days and then down into the pit of Destiny 2. Hopefully more than enough to keep my mind occupied, but seeing HK in this video and that art style again.. 😓

The NoE video showed a lot of games, but only for <10 seconds per game. Considering that NoE won't have a showcase tomorrow, I expect titles featured in that trailer to get some kind of feature in the showcase too. In fact, I know the release date of one of the bigger games in that video and no cell in my brain thinks NoA is gonna skip it in the showcase. So no, this video by NoE doesn't indicate anything regarding the content of NoA's showcase. (Maybe you don't know, but NoA and NoE are different companies that only discuss a couple of things with each other.)

I believe Super Meat Boy was already announced for Switch, so would be nice to get a release date tomorrow.

Its interesting that Stardew is missing from that sizzle reel :) Hopefully because they knew it would probably be out very soon

Also, did we know that Styx was going to be in brawlout?? Thats the first I've seen of him there.

The reel apparently was a video that NoE showed at Gamecom.

Yep. Its NoE doing their own stuff. I would assume we will see atleast some of these titles again(would be weird to skip them alltogether), but it doesn't rule out that there is more to come either.

I was thinking more the sequel seeing as the Twitter account in question have been hyping SMBF for sometime now and said the b reveal is due any time now.

I'm really hyped for that. I didn't play The End is Nigh yet but I heard it was a bit different from Meat Boy. I'm craving for more hellish platformer by McMillen.

Yes, it's Super Meat Boy Forever, unless it is The End is Nigh.

The original Super Meat Boy wouldn't be newsworthy for a reveal tomorrow.

The SMB Twitter wouldn't be hyping TEIN, especially as that's already been announced and released else where.

Tomorrow should be very interesting as an SMB fan even if it's not in the showcase!

Anyone going to the Nindies at Night event at MoPop in Seattle. I've never been, for those that have gone before. Is it worth it? In press release it says you can look at games in development and ask questions of the developers?

Praise be to Vita. May your spirit continue to live on in Switch form. Vita is life. Vita is happiness. Vita is almighty.

I'll never love another handheld (or hybrid) as much as I loved the Vita, but I'm so happy that its spirit carries on in the Switch.

Wow, I just legitimately made myself sad thinking about the Vita.

Oh you know what would be a cool reveal for tomorrow ?
Freedom Planet 2.
The timing would be fine, it's in development since a long time. I'm betting on that.

I'm already ready

About 11 hours left! Can't wait to see the release dates for some of the previously announced games and some new announcements as well!

When they done the last Nindie spotlight, was it just NoA that had the video or did NoE release it as well? Are these Nindie spotlights purely done by NoA?

The last Nindies Showcase is also uploaded at the Youtube Channel of Nintendo UK.

The Nindies Showcase of last February is on NoE's YouTube channels, but back then, they did send a tweet out on beforehand etc. Now they're completely silent and put their own sizzle reel XL online. I don't think NoE's 'trailer' and NoA's Showcase have anything to do with each other.

Better get a Golf Story release date.

15 years is long enough for a proper Mario Golf GBC sequel.

This is pretty much all I want. Anything else is icing, but Golf Story is my jam.

I also want a date for Yooka because, well, I've already bloody paid for it.
