Dawn of dreams is amazing, I mean, shit, just in the first 5 minutes /intro, you're fighting a giant demonic mecha while some of the most Japanesey, heroic music is playing in the background ffs.

For some reason people didn't like it as much as the other games, for.me personally, it was one of the best Onimushas - if not the best with 3 being the most cringy one (Jean Reno + japanese zombies in Paris lol).

That's what the sliver of gameplay they showed in this trailer suggests, unfortunately. So yeah, this will most likely be a "Souls" game with elements of Onimusha incorporated within its mechanics.

It's literally the style and theme that popularize and rejuvenate Action/ARPG genre. We're in the Golden Age of ARPG because of it.

Without it ARPG is DEAD back in the 2000s-2010s

I played a fair bit of it and your right about the negativity it received.
It's a great game.

I played the living hell out of Onimusha on the PS2 and then again with Genma on the Xbox. I bought the sequels but couldn't get into them. But after replaying Onimusha on the PS4, I just don't think it's aged all that well. It will be interesting to see what direction they take this release. I'm also not the biggest fan of most of Capcom's modern output outside of Monster Hunter and even then, I have a lot of question marks about Wilds.

I don’t have any experience with Onimusha series, I definitely want to play before this games comes…..I have lots time since coming 2026…..fuck me….I wish it was in 2025.
