Bad Sony news with Bloomberg as source isn't news, they mostly made them up as part of their hit pieces. Barely qualify as 'unreliable rumor', take them with a grain of salt.
Bluepoint has been mentioned multiple times as support team, doesn't have the people needed to lead a AAA game (like a game director, or a full game design team) or people to work in a GaaS game (live ops team including server programmers, economy designers, etc). So they couldn't be in charge of a GaaS or a AAA. When recently listed their teams by groups, in addition to mention Bluepoint as support team classified SSM as SP studio, not as GaaS studio or mixed.
So if this GoW GaaS existed and Bluepoint worked on it as support team, the lead team wasn't SSM. And/or was just a pitch/in early preproduction because of the lack of staff needed, so wasn't a cancelled game.
Better wait for an official confirmation or (as Sony made multiple times with multiple Bloomber fake news) debunk. And well, cancelling games is a normal part of making games.
What a fantasy. They have been breaking sales numbers with GoWR, Spider-Man 2 or Helldivers 2 and winning a ton of awards, as an example this year with Astro Bot, Helldivers 2 or Stellar Blade. They also released many other great games like GT7, Ratchet, Returnal, HFW and so on. Plus has many more to come like Death Stranding 2 or Wolverine.
