You think??
I guess your reasoning is sound, the gap between PS5 & Xbox being what it is...
Yeah. Think about how long Fable has been in development, and how much it must have cost. It started development 8 years ago, in 2018. Playground started from scratch, because they had no experience in this genre. I don't think the development process has been smooth. I believe that the final game will be good, but by the time they get to the finish line, hundreds of millions of dollars will have been invested.
MS wouldn't stand a chance of making that money back, much less turning a profit, if they released Fable as an Xbox exclusive. They would be giving it away for "free" on GP, and so sales would be cannibalized on what is already a relatively small install base. They really don't have a choice but to make it multiplatform. I'm no financial analyst, but that seems obvious to me.
Plus, same studio just sent Forza Horizon over, and from what I hear, it's using the same engine that Fable does. That would make porting a lot easier.
but for me, new Fable and Indy are really all I need. I might check out Forza Horizon which looks cool, and MCC I'd be happy to play through... but warts and all Fable is probably my favorite Xbox series.
Obviously need to see gameplay for the new one, though.
Yeah, I enjoyed Fable 1-3. Looking forward to the new one.
