Fuck... got stuck on Alien Rogue Incursion later in the game... the game crashes trying to get to the Mess Hall area after using the card in the airlock... (I'm in the way to get fuel after getting the capacitors)

Now the worst wait to them all... the wait for a fix that may never come... I was really enjoying the game but I wasn't expecting a game progression bug...

Got a big patch today.

Video of Waltz of the Wizard's hand tracking looks incredible, if it works as well as that it's crazy it took this long to get going! Generally, I've found you lose immersion with hand tracking in a lot of games, because the tactile/vibration feedback from the controllers adds a lot (especially in FPS), but certain uses of it is nice. Probably the most useful place IMO would be if they could add it to the system UI, so you can navigate the menus and use the headset on a system level if you don't have the controllers in hand.

Oh that would be cool too, using it for UI. Yeah in a game where you use weapons, it wouldn't be as good but certain games I think could work very well.

How is the game overall though?

It is fun, but more of a tech demo.

I'll try the hand tracking update later, could be fun. Surprised to see it available already, though I suspect I will always opt for controllers when given the choice.

make sure the pudding isn't too soggy but that just ruins everything
State of Play tomorrow but this time no info about psvr2 😞
Well on the bright side you won’t have to read pages worth of people who’ve never experienced VR whine about VR. I wonder if that knee jerk complaining isn’t a net negative. They can silo VR as far as advertisement… what they need to do is create FOMO by putting regular, popular fucking games on the system, and have hardcore fans of those franchises read others’ impressions that the VR version is the definitive version… they need to make these gacha games with anime waifus LIFE SIZE blowing kisses at these desperate dorks who are already emptying their wallets. Regular, popular games… just in VR. Oh, and you can benefit with having motion controls, and eye tracking. Man, I cannot think of any way a company, already using impulse-based gambling industry tactics, could leverage the innate depravity of this “demographic” to sell fucking VR systems. And this is obviously an extreme example (for sake of argument) but it could be ANY game. Tell the Elden ring crowd they need to experience the definitive version, the immersiveness, of your favorite game as it’s literally surrounding them. ‘Oh, sorry… you don’t have a VR system. Okay, oh well… maybe someday.” FOMO. Straight ports. It’s a gateway drug.

These corporations really are so stupid. Just, out of touch. They’re going broke and crying poverty sitting on a goldmine. It’s honestly infuriating. But no… go waste 400 million on a live service copycat, when you could’ve just straight-ported an already established user base directly into VR where you have no real competition.

Watching the video made it look like a fun set of puzzles/minigames, compared sometimes to The Last Clockwinder, but I have not played it. It has reviewed very well on Quest/Steam and PSVR2, and seems to have a wide variety of unique features for VR such as responding to voice commands and also supporting local co-op with flat devices. So I should probably check it out one day, sounds pretty good!

Even if they just made the headset an extension of the camera. It baffles me that they don't do that. With DFR you'd get amazing visuals and it would definitely get some larger YT channels to cover VR. Sony is legit clueless. None of their actions make sense considering how many projects they've cancelled and Concord flopping.

I heard there's been a massive update for the Alien game.

Our latest Patch 1.08 is now live.

Since this is one of the biggest patches yet, we are going to post this announcement here so everybody is up to date!

🗒️ Notes 🗒️

  • Major Xenomorph spawning rebalance. The Xenomorph’s hearing and vision were adjusted to avoid spawning in overwhelming numbers and too accurate - awareness of the player’s location.
  • Fixed a bug where the game reloaded with the fuel cell under the floor and was unreachable.
  • Fixes for missing or incorrect objective map markers on the tablet’s map.
  • The achievement for reading all the messages has been fixed.
  • The achievement for solving power boxes has been fixed.
  • Fix for saves during airlock quarantines causing the player being stuck in either airlock in medical.
  • The support grip for the pulse rifle and shotgun are now easier to grab.
  • Addressed areas in the crash site where collision issues caused some players to become stuck.
  • Tuned Xenomorph taunt duration and open mouth vulnerability to be shorter on harder difficulties
  • Davis no longer randomly looks away from the player during the catwalk scene on ship
  • Players are no longer able to lock themselves in closets or airlocks
  • Synths are no longer visible on the motion tracker after being killed
  • Fix for fire collision in mess hall still being active if the player dies after extinguishing it
  • Fix for unfinished welds disappearing after reloading a save.
  • Increased explosive barrel damage radius
  • Fix for xenomorphs getting stuck behind closed shutters.
  • Fix for cargo containers missing door access panels
  • Fixed intermittent jamming of the revolver upon ejecting the cylinder
  • Fixed revolver jamming intermittently while finishing a reload
  • Adjusted flashlight angle
  • Crashes and lots of smaller fixes

New Gameplay Options:

  • Support for save history. This gives players the ability to load previous saves.
Thank you for your continued support and patience!

Question to the PC Users. Is it possible to use the PSVR with an USB-C to Display Port Adapter on the PC?

My GPU has no USB-C Port and the offical PSVR2 PC Adapters are nowhere to find.

Ironically, that video kinda makes me think the hand tracking on the PSVR2 might be better than the actual controller tracking now hahaha. Good stuff.

I have been suggesting -in every survey I can get my hands on- to Sega (for PSO2 New Genesis) and miHoYo (for Zenless Zone Zero) exactly that: Let me play their games in 3rd person VR.
