Pokémon Legends: Z-A Releases Late 2025

I'm sure this will be fun, but it actually looks worse than Legends Arceus somehow. Just way less visually compelling, and those hilariously flat building textures, christ.

I think its because they are using the same engime as SV, gods knows why. If you take alook at SV textures they are super ugly and vomit looking, it actually make the pokemon models looks damn ugly. I don't think this game is aiming for openworlds or great scales anymore, so I got no idea why they are still pushing this. GF is the laziest and most inconpent group of devs I ever saw.

Hyped about the battle system rework. Seeing recycled starters make me think there is not going to be that many new Pokémon made.
If its the violet engine hope they smoothed out some of the issues with that engine.

I bought a sex doll, but I keep it inflated 100% of the time and use it like a regular wife
N64 rgaphics is a tad of an overeaction.
I don't know man, those flat balconies just painted on the walls sure give some Goldeneye 64 vibes.

Two things.
1) Game looks like shit. Less shit than Purple and Violet, but man. How does it still look so bad xD Der Trailer sieht aus wie 480p.
2) Fucking FINALLY. Endlich mal neuer Gameplay xD
NGL I like the new Catch and Battle Mechanics.

I wonder if they made the game with Swtich 2 in mind and it'll look and run better on this one.
A Shame that it's so poorly optimized it needs a new console gen to look how it should look and run on Switch 1.

Legends: Arceus reused starters from other gens and still had a few new Pokemon, or new forms of already existing ones. The Pokedex will likely just be the Kalos dex from X/Y with a few others sprinkled in.

I’m sort of torn. Visually, the game looks super disparate, and I feel like the textures even for the roads and grass look very “cheap” and unfinished.

The new combat style, though, actually looks VERY interesting. I don’t know if I would quite use the word “hype”, but I feel like that’s getting a whole lot closer to what I always imagined a Pokemon game would actually feel like in the future.

I really wish they would hire some artists to spruce up the visual style a lot more, though. Style goes a long ways, and the fact the environments themselves even to be aiming for a sort of “photorealistic” look, just looks absolutely awful. Going for a cel-shaded look might also help give the series some personality.

Ni no Kuni 2 is available on the Switch, lol.

Xenoblade X DE is far superior to those games graphically.

Don't compare Monolith to Game Freak. Monolith took a game engine from an older console and improved it. If it came out that Game Freak has been using the same engine from the 3DS for the Switch games but are using a clunky translation layer to force it to run, I wouldn't be surprised in the least.

I mean... red blue yellow and all the others until x was the same engine right? so i don't see them changing that strategy now.
If EA Redwood Shores can develop the Tiger Woods engine into some like Dead Space, I suspect any dev can do something similar. but yes, it sounds like a deliberate choice to keep it that way. They don't care for polish or to make it unique. Zero passion. Just look at some of the ridiculous Pokémon. All Pokémon games seem to be built off a checklist at this point.

What an ugly art style.

The rest looks okay to good. The battles look promising. But I don't think I could sit for hours looking at that eyesore.

Pokemon got better music than Xenoblade X though. Sawano's music in that game is fucking garbage.

How is one of the worst Pokemon games out doing you in atmospheric wonder? lmao.

seems like they reuse asset and perhaps engine of Scalet and Violet.

not fans of the dual gender of same design character IMO. before male and female counterpart has distinct design.

we can see they tried to replicate the feeling we see in pokemon anime. in term of how pokemon and local people mingle around the city and battle fight scene through the the new realtime combat system caught and how those pokemon roaming in towns.

Problem with Pokemon fanboys is that their standarts are so astronomic incredibly low that any music from SV is top notch.
Seriously, if you think SV have good music then you never actually listened good game music in the first place.
And I being tame here, because not in my entire life I had to turn off a game music, SV is a first.

They already have a hard time making games and you want them to add voice acting 😅?
They already making mouth animations on the characters, even since Scarlet & Violet, and voice acting process doesn't burden the game production too much, because they can do it in advance right after the game's story & dialogue scripts is done.

If they somehow can't add voice acting, then they're one of the most incompetent game companies in the world, considering voice acting is pretty much the norm on literally any games, even on those free-to-play mobile games.

It has some great tracks but the music is def. nowhere near past games.

But then to have the galls to try and say Xenoblade's music sucks is so fucking stupid :messenger_tears_of_joy:

Yikes, I’ll definitely opt/wait for the switch 2 version, assuming we get one.
I don’t think Switch 2 would make much difference for Pokémon.

We have games like Xenoblade and Astral Chain that have amazing visuals even on under power system like Switch.

To me it just seems Pokémon devs don’t really care even they do have more powerful system to work with.

The switch 2 would make an enormous difference with the resolution, with the frame rate, with the amount of things that can happen on the screen at once, with higher-res textures, faster loading… all across the board it would be vastly superior if they made use of the specifications. Which I hope they do.

Switch 2 will enable GF to make games that run maginally better and look equally shit. So, at least it's something.

That being said this game is the most interesting I've seen from them in a while. The urban enviroment feels fresh and the combat is also taking a distinct turn. I look forward to Nintendo announcing improvements for backwards compatible titles on Switch 2 so this isn't as visually offensive as it currently is.... although the ""realistic"" shading style from Scarlet and Violet is gone so there's also that improvement.

"We're going to keep half-assing it as long as it keeps working".

I can't blame them. Why change what works? People will have to stop buying this crap before it'll ever be improved.

There must be a Nintendo Switch 2 support in case you don't know.

Everything you say is pointless without support. The only thing that can be boosted is the perfomance.

Obviously, I’m talking about a switch 2 version. What are you not getting about that? Obviously, it wouldn’t have any of the things I mentioned just out of the box running in backward compatibility nobody would think that. You don’t need to like explain things as if you know more than everybody else. We’re on a gaming forum. This is not video games 101. Everyone on here knows how stuff works, bro.

This looks incredibly bad visually. Not sure about the rest either, is it all set in that awful looking city?
Yes I believe the premise for the game is just an open world city environment. Agreed it is not looking very good, visually. Why I’m hoping there is a switch 2 version coming along.
