I don't understand why people keep tripping on the price! I'll go further and say that the PS5 PRO is a bargin for what it offers in today's reality. People need to realize that for the first time ever 4 years into a console generation, the price of the base console has not gone down. In fact, it is now still higher than it was at launch!

Perspective people:
A Digital Edition PS5 actually retails for $450 (was $400 at launch). So the PS5 PRO is a $250 premium.

But let's neutralize the SSD effect where the Digital Edition includes a 1TB SSD and the PRO includes a 2 TB SSD. So to get 1TB of additional SSD storage on par with the performance of the PS5 SSD, it'll cost you roughly $100.

So if you wanted a base PS5 Digital Edition with 2TB of total storage, you're looking at closer to $550 for your total investment. From there the PRO would be an additional $150 or +27% more $$

Ok so for 27% more money you get:
  • A GPU that is 67% larger in terms of shading power
  • 2-3x faster Ray Tracing performance
  • 300 TOPS of machine learning performance not present on the base (used to power PSSR for now)
  • 28% more memory bandwidth
  • 2GB more total RAM
  • Total net performance that often exceeds 2x over the base
  • Faster Wifi 7 capability
  • Smaller more efficient form factor
I don't know about you, but even eliminating the larger 2TB SSD included in the box, the PRO delivers way more than 27% additional value across the board! Sure the sticker price of $699 can be shocking but in reality, it's still a hell of a deal.
nah. 2tb drive should absolutely matter.
It's a great value. Now look at nvidia gains compared to last gen vs price raise... yikes.
edit: Even my vacuum robot is more expensive ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Mostly satisfied.
Most differences you probably wouldn’t miss if you didn’t know any better.

Honestly, the best part for me was the larger HDD built-in.

Everything below and including "somewhat satisfied" is negative and is the majority. PS5 Pro is a flop mate. At least according to this poll.

Whatever mate. "Somewhat satisfying" is like a 6 out of 10. You and me are worth much more than a 6 out of 10.

Paying 900€ for a 6/10 is a bad, bad deal.

Whatever indeed. Now....tell us how impressed you are that the "majority" have "positive emotions" towards the PS5 Pro. Certainly not a "flop" based on the parameters you've put in place, now is it?

It's the least impressive Pro console i've had (compared to what One X and Ps4 Pro did at the time they released).
Feels closer to regular PS5 compared to what they did compared to their base versions, but I didn't expect anything more, so neutral I guess.

Hopefully Death Stranding 2 will be 60fps without sacrificing lots of the bells and whistles, as I suspect I'm gonna have a hard time waiting for the PC version for that game.
I will however manage to wait if the only way to get at least 60fps will be with lots of downscaling in the resolution.

All things considered i'm as happy as I feel I can be with a console/tech in the lower price segment at the moment. It's decent value for the price, for sure.

Poll is not going to be super accurate. It's going to be heavily slanted in the positive direction because most of your average people would not be able to admit to themselves that they wasted 800USD on an entertainment device.

I still have allot of personal expenses and not enough funds, but I'm still targeting to get ps5 pro this year depending on my fund situation. For now I'm still satisfied with my base Ps5 and its still a good system. To Ps5 pro owners, I'm jealous you have Ps5 pro, and you are all lucky and must not regret the ps5 pro purchase. PSSR ML is learning in fast pace. It is future proof even if Ps6 comes out in the future, and with FSR4 integration to PSSR ML on Ps5 pro, exciting times ahead.

Yeah, you're right. I should've asked people who didn't buy the console whether they were satisfied with their purchase.
Anyone can check out the performance and visuals of games optimized for the PS5 Pro before buying the console. There are several YouTube channels that do this.

The vast majority of people who bought the console have already done so before and found it satisfactory. That's why they bought it, and that's why your poll results will be exactly that. Or do you think there would be a significant number of negative votes and comments like "yes, I checked the performance of the games on YouTube before buying, I thought the performance was bad, and I bought it anyway"?

YouTube can only give you so much with their compressed videos. Playing games in your own home is the only way to truly know. If it was a waste of money then they would just return it. If they kept it and they say they are satisfied then that is a completely valid take.

You can make that same statement about $400 entertainment devices as well. In either case, it is subjective. You think it is a waste and that's fine, but it only applies to you.

I'm not sure what you're trying to prove here. What I'm doing is no different than asking people who bought a lawnmower whether they liked it, or asking people who read a book whether they liked it. Of course it's a self-selected group. I'm not interested in what a bunch of randos who don't have any actual experience with the console think. That would be like asking someone who hasn't read a book what their opinion of the book is. I don't care. I want people who've spent some time with the thing and experienced it first-hand.

Meh I wanted a 2nd ps5 so my son and I could play different games at the same time.

It accomplished that but otherwise haven’t see anything that my ps5 or even my ps4 pro couldn’t do.

At this point Sonys REALLY going to have to sell me on WHY I should get a PS6 when 100% of the games for the first 5 years will play and look just fine on my ps5 and ps5 pro

It's ok. Obviously dependent on devs patching PSSR into the game, then once again dependent on them patching the newest version of PSSR.

For me it's more of an early access box for temporary exclusives when I don't feel like waiting waiting for PC versions. I don't think the average console player would really notice the difference.

I picked “somewhat “ but it isn’t because of the price or the hardware. It’s because of Sonys complete lack of doing anything with it. A lot more games should have Pro patches, and even if Sony can’t work with other developers there is no reason their own games can’t get them. Last gen a ton of games got “Pro” patches and on Xbox side, Microsoft went back and enhanced a bunch of games for its flagship console.

Honestly, they should have an entire team that does nothing but this.

Voted Other...

The disc drive and console have been sitting on floor, unopened, since launch.

Haven't felt compelled to use it, cause I've been playing Space Marine 2 and Fortnite on Xbox.

My son has a PS5 in his room.

I'll probably crack it open before GTA. Should probably make sure that it works.

I just finished playing Forspoken and TLOU1 on the PS5 Pro because the image quality has improved.
I'm currently playing FF7R (beautiful 4K upscale).
I've tried dozens of other games, and even games without the Pro patch are responsive with a 35% boost (FPS and DRS resolution), and the loading times are slightly faster on the Pro, so it's comfortable.
