Russian media say 65-year-old Elena Belova, who set fire to a Russian military official's car in Moscow, was kidnapped by Ukrainian special forces, hypnotized and taught by them how to burn cars.

The Kakhovka Operational Group published a video in which it is said that the Ukrainian army broke through the first line of Russian defence in Kherson oblast.

Source: Kakhovka Operational Group, sources of Ukrainska Pravda in the Ukrainian Armed Forces

Quote: "The 109th regiment of the so-called ‘DPR’ (Donetsk People's Republic) has withdrawn from its positions in Kherson Oblast, the Russian elite Airborne, who supported them, fled the battlefield."

Details:

The operational group also published a video in which a Russian soldier complains that the Ukrainian Forces broke through the first line of defence in Kherson Oblast.

I read on numerous trustworthy news sites international and national that it seems to be the case, Cherson seems to be the goal.

According to multiple Ukraine officials today is a significant day in terms of beginning the liberation of Kherson region, Armed Forces of Ukraine are ramping up their advances, I personally heard a lot of explosion in places where the Russian military used to keep their staff as well as storage units with ammunition.

It definitely feels like the tides of war have turned... it used to be about where russia was attacking, now it's about where ukraine is attacking.

Guess the logistical dismemberment done by the himars has disrupted the russian war machine.

The Russian War machine was in shambles before they even launched the invasion. It is still mind-blowing to me how badly they bungled this. I'm surprised Putin doesn't have the Kremlin adorned with military leaders heads on pikes.

Fingers crossed this goes well for them, god knows the Ukrainians could do with a proper win and taking back this region means they can strangle Crimea's water supply again. If they pull this off it could begin the unraveling of the whole southern front

Whoa... this thread went places for a bit, huh?

WTF!!!

It was a close call, fuck all those Ruzzians.

What the hell is this... Russia is so bad at being bad. Looking forward to hearing about any additional push into occupied territory. Seems Sept/October will be the last of the season before things retrench with winter. Hopefully some real gains can be made before then.

Don't make fun of Russia's new 155mm next generation extended range water splashing artillery platform. They can easily splash water on any bridge from 1500km away.

Hoping to Tengri that their offensive causes a fast collapse of the Russtard forces in Kherson and limits the casualties of our Ukrainian cousins.

Losing Kherson would be felt on the Kremlin. With great force.

As a result the loss of Nova Kharkov is almost inevitable and that means no more fresh water for Crimea - another logistical problem. Speaking of Crimea, Kherson and Melitopol are the entrypoints into the peninsula - I strongly believe Kyiv intents to retake Crimea before attempting to retake Donbass and after Kherson, Zaporizhzhia and Melitopol come next.

Hopefully Ukraine gains full control of it's rivers and eventually Crimea/Sevastapol warm-water ports, and deprive Russia of it's vital transport routes into the Black Sea > Bosporus > Med. Would be a huge card to hold in eventual negotiations and withdrawal from sovereign Ukrainian territory.

I think you misunderstand the situation: Russia currently is getting pissed on and is in the process of steamrolling their defeat... Their invasion capabilities have been thwarted, its not a question of if, it's already happened and short of Russia pulling a god artifact that can counter western weaponry from their ass within the next few weeks/months or they can somehow convince the world they are the real good guys here and force a complete 180 on support then they are DONE. They will continue into these declining circumstances until their society bellies up or they have a change of heart before then.

As for the follow up article. I'm not at all concerned with Ukraine's economic futures, well no more than I am with the world's economy at present. They are receiving aid from most of the economic powerhouses and will be in a ok position to handle rebuilding after they roll Russia back into their hellhole. The same cannot be said for Russia.

It will not and if Russia gets pissed they will just steamroll. Meanwhile…

https://news84media.com/russia-ukra...drop-in-the-ukrainian-economy-due-to-the-war/

Not quite the way things are going tho.

Any of this being tracked anywhere - and feeds?

It's coming from reputable ukrainian tweets. 3 directions in Kherson, plus another direction in Zaporizhzhia. They also point out it's impossible to know success until tomorrow.

These users while obviously cheering for their own country, have generally reported good information.

Makes sense they've begun a proper counter offensive, they've been bombarding the absolute shit out of the cunts and utterly wrecked their supply lines, no relief, no food, no resupply and constant shelling should hopefully make them cave quickly, not to mention the supply of heavy weapons and precision munitions must've hit a critical point that's enabled this decision to attack, man it would be glorious if they just surrendered enmass, next few days will be nail biting

Fingers crossed Ukraine’s counter offensive is successful. So comforting to see early signs of progress.

After weeks of taking out ammo dumps, Time for HIMARS to begin raining death on defensive emplacements and artillery.

My wife hasn't lived there for twenty years. But my mother in law got out of there a couple of months ago because we as many others predicted that there would be a dangerous push back at some time. But anyway, plenty of people there don't have the money to flee, the only way out is through Crimea to Georgia. And you would have to pay traffickers to take you that way.

Anyway,

a) It's a long fucking way from Ukraine.
b) Most of Georgia's northern border are the two stolen puppet states (desperately poor as well).
c) I wouldn't put it past some Russian border guards being sadistic fucks if they have any excuse.

The border crossing at Kazbegi is open. It was only closed for passengers during covid. Anybody is free to cross as long as you can get there. It's around a 17h drive from Crimea. Most people take a train near the border and then drive across.

I didn't say the border isn't open, but it's still a long way across a country that has many people that now hate Ukrainians, to a border that could be closed on a whim.
