That seems a bit weird. I mean I assume it would affect land value/similiar factors but health? Weird imo.

Also the dreaded finnish accent.

Depending on sound level...

It can definitely lead to impact on health. If people have difficulty sleeping and are constantly stressed you can see how sound level can lead to both physical and mental health problems. (and crime, even!)

One CSL tile is supposed to be the same as one SC5 tile, 2km x 2km (of course you can get up to 9 of them per city in CSL), but from all the vids I've seen it's not the same and you can indeed fit more city in one CSL tile than you can in that one SC5 tile. I almost think the roads and zones are smaller or scaled down some in CSL than they were in SC5 so you can fit more city in the same land area.

I believe the overwhelming vote for the OT was this:

I hope there are larger population density options. All the residential areas I've seen has been single houses or housing with less than 5 floors. Sill waiting for huge apartment complexes and such.

Honestly if no one had told me what it was and showed me skyestorme's videos I'd be convinced it's really sim city 5.

And the Sim City 5 jab in the title seems a bit cheap to me. Using "collossal" for something is a cuter idea, but if Sim City 5 is what the mob wants, you gotta give it to them I suppose.
 
God I'm really hype for this game now! I was just watching some of the Quill vids and I'm loving everything I'm seeing. I love how huge the maps are and the throwback feel to Simcity 3. I was so sad when the new Simcity scaled back on size and resorted to that online connecting town bs. But this definitely looks like the natural evolution to what was supposed to be Simcity 4.

I really don't see why it's necessary to bring Sim City into the OT title at all, you guys should let this game stand on its own and avoid the pointless low blows.

Yeah, I'm leaving Simcity out of the title. There's enough brand confusion as it is, and I rather not make a jab at EA or Maxis, especially now.

edit: I actually like Heir to the Zone. Might use that one.

Yeah I vote for leaving references to SimCity out of the OT

Wait, wind actually varies now? Does it vary per spot, or just plan vary overtime?
Per spot.

If you choose the wind turbines, the map switches to a gray colour scheme. Dark gray means full energy payout, lighter gray means less. It's also shown in the tooltip when you hover the tile over suitable ground.

You will be able to expand adjacent to any tiles you already have. So, you could technically just expand in a single line if you wanted to. You are not restricted to a square or rectangular shape in the end.

I thought I remember hearing they were 25x25 tiles, but maybe it was 25 sq tiles (5x5).
 
Anybody in this thread start working on a mod for the game yet? Are the active modders right now using copies of the game yet? I'm interested in working on some mods, but have no modeling experience at all.

The latter is correct: 5x5 for a total of 100km^2 (since each tile is 2km x 2km).

I think people have already been adding custom content to the Workshop. Most of it is probably prefabs from in-game assets, but I'm not sure if there have been new meshes added yet.
