The scoring system is pretty terrible in this.

Not that wolves would've won anyway, but there's something off about how if you lose the popular vote you MUST sweep the battles themselves in both categories. I can't come up with a solution other than scrapping the entire system right now and starting over so it's whatever. Just Splatfest is so boring right now. Doesn't help that I've lost every one so far, but it does help that every topic and the new idols are so painfully uninteresting.

Absolutely love random weapons on Salmon Run though. Really should be the default setting.

I said in discord I thought vampire would sweep. We suck, team werewolf.

I had great games last night and this morning (got to King in 29 games) but around 5 my games became horrible. Constantly losing, might have been the map rotation but werewolves just started playing awful.

Had a high of 2203 and finished at 2041. Going to try for 2300 next time!

In each random-weapons Salmon Run, there's apparently a 1-time custom weapon from Grizzco. This time, it's an umbrella without the cloth.

And yes, those are uber class, based on the last two.

I hate the netcode, I can't play properly this morning, so I got a couple disconnexions (which I only ever had with Splatoon... my Switch is 6 centimeters from the router, I've unplugged everything from the network, shutdown every WiFi device, and rebooted both the Switch and the modem/router and I still have issues)

Thus, I went back to 180x. And honestly, at 200x, random can be good or bad, but at 180x, you have a bunch of bad players. You need at least to be at 240x to have reliable teammates.

The last two waves were both low-tide, and in both we had two chargers. First was 2 E-liters, scoped and unscoped, and last was scoped E-liter and a fucking Goo-Tuber. I had the scoped E-liter both times. I don't know how we finished that last wave, it was a fucking nightmare but we just met quota in the last 15 seconds and then scrambled to survive.

It's crazy how everyone said that she had an unfair advantage at first then suddenly all the good players gravitated towards pearl. I don't get it, it must have something to do with the matchmaking that makes it extremely difficult for Marina to win in the USA/Europe.

While not exactly the same (we did get some eggs in) I just had an easily avoidable loss from people not running eggs back. One teammate would run out on their own, take out a boss, then instead of running an egg back would spend 10 seconds spamming "This Way!" at the eggs.

I mean, sometimes I had an egg but had a teammate in a tight spot that needed help so I'd help them first before taking it back, but this player were literally doing nothing but spam "This Way!". Doing it once to let us know there were eggs there would have been fine, but they needed to move.

Salmon Run is the way to go when it's available. Right now it's mystery weapons so you don't know what you or your teammates are gonna get. Though to avoid burnout I myself just do 1200 pts which is both super bonuses of the run.

Is there a benefit in to levelling up your splatfest rank to the max? Are the results tied to your profile permanently?

There is, in fact, more benefit to leveling up your splatfest level than there is to being on the winning team. Winning team vs losing team is a difference of, i forget whether it's 3 or 4 snails. Max level losing team gets like 21 snails, max level winning team gets 24.

The power rank is different.

Eh I wouldn’t report someone for those circumstances personally, their connection might’ve dropped to. Don’t mind me though, I just happen to post here to vent lol.


This was my first Splatfest and it was really cool. I think I should definitely play MP more, but it seems quite the hike to level up (still only 8). Are there faster ways to level up? I heard you can get tickets from SP (which I still need to play), but otherwise any other methods? Thanks!

Really? Once I've reached Profreshional I've never fallen down rank with random people. Only time it did was when I showed the mode to friends (they don't own a Switch yet) and they had no idea what was going on, and jumping in on that level was a bit cruel on my part...

It heavily depends on the payout... Below 200x, I agree. Above 240x, there's really not many people that don't play it correctly.

Problem is, you're reset at 200x each time. And if you begin by loosing, it's hell. Because of network/netcode issues, I dropped to 170x today, and it was awful. I've had a hard time going back to 200x.

It shouldn't drop faster, it's IIRC +20 for win, 0 for wave 3, -10 for wave 2, -20 for wave 1... I haven't left professional for ages now (even today). Give it some time if you haven't reached 200x yet.

We mostly got lucky. The first disconnect happened in the middle of the first wave, a low-tide event, so we didn't have any trouble getting eggs. The second wave was high-tide Goldie Seeking with two of us having Grizzco Brellas, so it was fairly easy. And the final wave was a low-tide Cohock Charge. We got the second disconnect towards the end of that, not sure if it was a connection problem or they sacrificed themselves for us. If the latter, it was unnecessary, we would have gotten enough eggs anyway.

It's so strange to me that the portable mode camera issue still isn't fixed. I play switch in portable mode with the screen above my head - looking up at the screen. Splatoon 2's camera just does not reset properly if you do that, making the game unplayable in the way I like to play it.

I just don't understand that design decision at all.

I feel like after the first couple it just becomes picking the side they know will win. But if it was like "this is blah vs blah, dunno which each is choosing" I wonder how it would go.
