Thanks for the kind words! Honestly, our Program Manager deserved his firing, and he passed a lot of his work to me anyways - so it's not going to be a HUGE departure for me. Especially since staff were more likely to come to me than to him. They're looking to open up the position with the new program year in July, although behind closed doors I was told that it was a formality that had to be done, so there's a more than good chance that this is a permanent promotion unless I royally fuck things up. I'm being asked to maintain some of my current job duties, but a lot of what I do now will be divvied up. My pay rate is also going up to that of what the Program Manager is making, so I'm making a good $4.50/hr more. I'll be making $41/hr moving forward, which honestly has me in shock.
I'm always looking to improve my craft, so I'll take all of the recommendations I can get. There's obviously a lot of overlap between the private sector and non-profit world, but I am program manager for a Non-Profit overseeing a large Youth program. I have about 55-60 or so staff that I'm overseeing.
