Grifters are farming for extreme reactions. The fact that KCD2 of all games even gets boycott talk says it all how at the bottom of the barrel youtube comment sections has become (and leaking to hardcore forums like here sadly)

Much like flat earthers, you find a community and you get your dopamine hits from peoples you suddenly find are like you and talk to you. Oh a little mean one-liner and you get hundreds of likes. You truely understand the dynamics of society with just a few one-liners like go woke go broke and a huge echo chamber in the youtube grifter's comment section all tapping themselves on the back and upvoting any flock mentality comment that doesn't deviate from the channel. Its no better than REEE tards trying to cancel Cyberpunk 2077 or Hogwarts Legacy, no better. They're doing the same act, on the other spectrum. Candidly, I can see how non-Christians aren't finding much woke in it. I haven't seen anything from the gay angle that I'd consider pandering. It's not like there isn't some historic basis for it during times of war. If I wasn't so starved for HRE media and pro-Christian games, I'd probably be softer on my outlook toward it. In the elevator pitch, I would be the Webster's dictionary example of the target audience. I could hardly dream up a better elevator pitch than "HRE ImSim".

I see the pandering in KCD2 while also having a distaste for the new anti-woke grifter. I don't think these things are mutually exclusive. I also find the "non-buy-nary" rally cry gauche and dumb, but I attribute it to the younger generation being a little more excitable. The guys my (our?) age grifting on it is annoying and ugly. If guys in their late teens, early 20s are using it as a rallying cry, I can accept that as just youthful exuberance and give it a pass. It's only when the engagement farming comes into play that I dislike it. Even then there's a fine line between spreading awareness and trying to get impression income. Really can only define who is who by the feeling you get watching their content. I certainly know where I stand on the bigger names in the scene.

Hogwarts Legacy situation was maybe the lowest point i've seen in gaming, especially regarding reviews.

I'm 20+ hours into the game and still have to see something remotely woke. The villagers are dumb, the hookers have massive tits, the gypsy boss if a fucking rat and I've already saved a few damsels in distress.

Clickbait is an extremely widespread practice but I've only ever heard the people who do it referred to as Grifters when it's in the context of this subject.

Totally agree my man. It's sad. Video games are the lands where culture wars are fought. There used to be a time where playing and talking about video games used to be fun.
