If this game makes its 2025 date, Obsidian would have put out 5 games between 2019 and 2025. Almost one game a year from a single developer, outside of sports games, is pretty much unheard of, even CoD has 4 different developers working on different annual releases.
They're workhorses over there.

Pretty insane output. They do seem a bit like Insomniac in that they have a vision for a game and don't really mess around with the scope at all so they can be highly efficient.

The key point is that they haven't fallen into the "bigger = better" trap. They make decent sized games between 20-60 hours, which helps them avoid making a game per generation.
I have my criticisms with Modern Obsidian (although I'm still a big fan of their recent games) but I think this philosophy should be developed more in the industry

I'm playing Outer Worlds 1 right now, the game is hella weird. It has the ugliest NPCs I've seen from a videogame, every woman has that lesbo hair cut, the writing is horrible, the quirky millennial liberal from San Fran dialogue can get irritating at times and yet I'm enjoying it. Maybe it's the New Vegas game design what draws me to it.
Also the game stutters a lot, Unreal slop + semi open world = frustrating experience. Man, fuck this ugly ass engine.

I'm not surprised this is on PS5, the first one was too, how gracious of Microsoft and the team at Xbox to allow Freegunners to continue their journey into the well written and well rendered stars

I loved Fallout New Vegas and I played Outer Worlds for about 3 hours on PC. I'm thinking of picking it up again but since I got a PS5 and a dozen games, the backlog is insane. Is Outer Wilds a must play to you?

As soon as I watched the Intergalatic trailer, I knew it would trigger some members of the NeoGAF community. Only had to do Ctrl+F "woke" on the first page to get confirmation.
