So you are telling us you dont care about the graphics? As of now, there are over 100 games supporting RT, so it does not make sense to look only at raster performance. DLSS FG is also amazing, this thing works so well (unlike FSR FG) that it's basically a free performance boost. If you dont want Nvidia GPUs, just wait for the RDNA4 GPUs as they should run RT with much better results and have AI powered FSR.for some people not selling point, and you forgot FSR4
about RT read this - I don't give a shit about ray tracing btw and I'll be gaming at 1440p (c)
We all know what ray tracing does. Even PlayStation heavily invested into AI upscaling and ray tracing, more so than in raw power because they know where the industry is headed, yet you have AMD users who swear that RT and upscaling don't matter. You'll look like a fool in 2 years listening to these guys if it isn't already the case.So you are telling us you dont care about the graphics? That not my quote was about RT.So you are telling us you dont care about the graphics?
Black Myth Wukong, Rift Apart, Alan Wake 2, Spider-Man/Miles Morales, The Witcher 3...and the list goes on and will continue growing. That not my quote was about RT.
If you want my opinion there only 3 games with good RT. Cyber/Control/Metro
every time this thread is bumped I check if there are any new announcements from Nvidia---
I want that 5090
Be real, there no games which force you play with only RT, also there still alot people wo doesn't care about RT and even "Settings"This is 2024. Damn near every AAA game ships with RT
Don't try to project your own impressions onto everyone. Different people, different opinionsBlack Myth Wukong, Rift Apart, Alan Wake 2, Spider-Man/Miles Morales, The Witcher 3...and the list goes on and will continue growing.
I think SW Outlaws and Avatar, Metro Exodus EE require HW RT to even start.Be real, there no games which force you play with only RT, also there still alot people wo doesn't care about RT and even "Settings"

If you aren't buying a 5090 then you might as well buy a 4090.
Mostly AMD and console users. Same guys who kept dismissing 60fps but now demand it or won't play the game.
But they not force you have RT cards. Metro EE is have no RT verison.I think SW Outlaws and Avatar, Metro Exodus EE require HW RT to even start.
You seems missed something. You can't game on PC and not care about settings.
won't change nothing, there will be still people who doesn't care. Your problem is that you try to impose your opinion on everyoneWhen AMD gets AI upscaling and proper RT, you guys won't shut up about it.
Not my opinion. That's where the industry is headed. You got games now where they even include upscaling in the system requirements. You can say they don't matter all you want, but two of the biggest players in the industry, Sony and NVIDIA, have banked on AI upscaling and RT. These guys are the ones driving things forward. But they not force you have RT cards. Metro EE is have no RT verison.

Which hardly matters now. We're almost in 2025. Games shipping with RT were uncommon back in 2018. Now, almost every AAA game has RT features and those will only get better with time. What I'm saying is, if you're about to purchase an x70-tier GPU, RT and DLSS should be taken into consideration. If the person was buying some budget GPU, then I would have said RT is irrelevant, but if you're paying $500+ for the card, you want it to support the latest and greatest adequately.Like I said, RTX pushers were making the same argument during the 20 Series era when RT implementations were laughable especially considering the performance cost.
I know because i'm working on itThat's where the industry is headed
You must understand that, there are two camps. One love RT/AI upscalings, other doesn't care/doesn't love. You can say they don't matter all you want
Games that are clowned on for their terrible optimization and performance aren't a best example to show as the "future of the industry" they need upscaling because their code is awfulYou got games now where they even include upscaling in the system requirements.
That known info5060 8g and 5070 12g here we fucking go again .
That because most popular Engines is UE and Unity, only Epic and Unity can change it. Some engines is nice like Decima/Dragon Enginethey need upscaling because their code is awful
At this point they are selling you cards that are DOA5060 8g and 5070 12g here we fucking go again .
People will buy it, because strong brainwash marketingAt this point they are selling you cards that are DOA
I disagree. You've seen just like me how messy many games are upon release, especially UE5. If devs don't bother optimizing (and they often don't), then there's nothing you or I can do about it. It's now being said that upscaling is used as a crutch and that might be true, which is just another reason why you should care about it.Games that are clowned on for their terrible optimization and performance aren't a best example to show as the "future of the industry" they need upscaling because their code is awful
Depends if you are going lower end. Nvidia likes to skimp on VRAM to upsell you to higher tier GPU's.Untill fsr 4 proves itself I can't imagine buying a amd GPU. Dlss is simply better and getting better all the time.
The framegen portion of FSR actually works quite well, it's just as good as DLSS frame gen.So you are telling us you dont care about the graphics? It definitely still has higher latency, I'm just talking about the quality of the generated frames itself, I use it almost dailyMy understanding is that it has some issues with vsync/vrr and has higher latency, but maybe they've fixed those issues.
People can't keep paying exorbitant prices for hardware with hyper advanced features they don't need just to compensate for incompetent, stressed or lazy devs being unable to ship a functioning game. Well, that's the point of DLSS, isn't? Now your $500 GPU can play 1440p upscaled to 4K or 960p upscaled to 4K.People can't keep paying exorbitant prices for hardware with hyper advanced features they don't need just to compensate for incompetent, stressed or lazy devs being unable to ship a functioning game. Nobody has the time to spend 1600 on a GRAPHICS CARD. Thats a fucking mortgage payment, and if the tariffs happen its only gonna get worse.
We both know this isn't happening. They will run poorly and still sell. Look at Elden Ring and BMW. Both run like shit, yet sold like warm bread.Either the games get patched to run well or the terrible performance reflects in the sales and user scores.
500$ GPU is still expensive as fuck when you consider all the other components going into a PC. That's a 1200 dollar system at minimum.Well, that's the point of DLSS, isn't? Now your $500 GPU can play 1440p upscaled to 4K or 960p upscaled to 4K.
Those games don't perform that badly. I mean shit like MH Wilds, Flight Simulator or Dragon's Dogma 2 at launchWe both know this isn't happening. They will run poorly and still sell. Look at Elden Ring and BMW. Both run like shit, yet sold like warm bread.
DLSS FG is usable at 40fps and runs so well that I can even use it in first-person shooter games. If the game is running at 45-55fps, or has occasional dips below 60fps, DLSS FG would make you feel like you were playing at a real 80fps.The framegen portion of FSR actually works quite well, it's just as good as DLSS frame gen.
hmm, can't say i've noticed motion judder but yes the input lag is noticeable at 60->120fps, but it's still fine enough to playDLSS FG is usable at 40fps and runs so well that I can even use it in first-person shooter games. I tried using FSR FG in couple of games but my experience was terrible. FSR FG has motion judder, noticeable input lag (even on gamepad) and requires at least 60fps.
Will wince at 5090 pricing and then buy one anyway. Will laugh at 5090 pricing and then buy a 5080 on release.
I'm guessing 5080 $999 and 5090 $1799 for FEWhat ya boys reckon, 5080 for $999?
I'm thinking closer to 2 grand tbh. They know people will buy them.I'm guessing 5080 $999 and 5090 $1799 for FE
1-1.5 years after launchWhen do you guys think 5080 Super will surface?
I'll aim for a RTX 5060TI 16GB VRAM version that cost around 400 dollars to 500 dollars max. Since be more than enough for me to prepare for GTA VI, Elder Scrolls VI, and Fallout 5 since I'm sticking to 1080P.
What ya boys reckon, 5080 for $999?
The 4080 was DOA at $1200, I highly doubt they'd make the same mistake again.$1299 is my guess if it ends up having the 32 gbps memory. Basically a 4090 with less VRAM for $300 less.
The 4080 was DOA at $1200, I highly doubt they'd make the same mistake again.

I highly doubt we'll get a 3 digit 80 series card again, and I'd not be surprised at all if the 90 was 1999 or more.I'm guessing 5080 $999 and 5090 $1799 for FE
I think the 4080 was DOA because the 4090 was $1599. If the 5090 is $2000+, the 5080 may still look like a good "value" at $1200/$1300/$1400.
Maybe but then we have Kepler saying it won't be that much more expensive. And others hinting that Blackwell isn't going to increase in price a lot.I'm thinking closer to 2 grand tbh. They know people will buy them.
