Xbox Series X - $349 (clearing stock for refresh?)

First off, I have a Series X and it's a great console.... that's gathering dust under my TV.

What games are only available on Xbox Series X?

I’m afraid you’ve lost me.

If you’re implying that you’re as well getting a Series S to play Xbox games, then you are wrong (especially with regards to the sale price in question).

If you’re implying you can play Xbox games on your PC, then I’ve already answered that one.

If you’re implying that you think there are no good Xbox games, then you are also wrong.

Feel free to help a thicko like me out if you want. What exactly do you mean by your comment…

‘A complete waste of money, as there isn't a single game that requires to you to own a Series X.’

Lots of them, for me.

My 1060 laptop ain't getting much gaming use these days and my PS5 is mostly only for that consoles exclusives.

I'm implying that there's not really much point in paying out for a Series X, when there's not a single game that requires you to own it. Might as well stick to the retarded little brother or PC. I'm implying - nay, stating - that the fact no games exist just for the Series X undermines any good reason for buying one - hence why its sales are so damn poor. Maybe if XBox actually valued the console and made games that highlighted its power and capabilities, then it would be worth getting one.

It's the most wasted console in history.

So if you don’t have a Series S, and don’t have a decent gaming PC, then the Series X is an amazing buy at $349 for people that want to play all the Xbox console exclusives that have come out over the past years (not to mention all the third party games) and BONUS, the games that will come out in the years to come.

So no, it’s not a waste of money for those people. It’s a bloody great deal!

Amazon is sold out of the Diablo bundle and the regular Series X is back up to $432, I wonder what the heck is going on

I managed to snag a Diablo bundle from Walmart, I had sold my OG Series X back over the summer to a friend for $450 with a spare controller because I rarely played it but at this price? it’s worth it for the enhanced BC & dabbling with new releases on Game Pass

Walmart still has the standard and Diablo versions. The FH5 bundle sold out, and then was relisted, but when you click through it's $543 from a reseller. It was shipping or delivery from my local store.

I don't get why people are being so sour towards this deal. $350 for the XSX and Diablo IV is a killer deal. XSX is amazing hardware. Super compact and packing a massive punch. Dead silent, too. At $350 it's worth it just as a Game Pass console and for the BC, even if you already have a PC.

There are some people who do not enjoy playing games on a PC, so therefore, how is it wasted? Less sales for the console due to day and date on PC, yes of course. But that does not mean the console does not serve a purpose.

Example: I do not like PC gaming. I have money for a gaming PC, and I have one (getting a little old, but it would still play most new games). However, I play mostly on consoles. I am on a PC all day for work. I do not want to play on my PC just plain and simple. So yes, there is still value for many people.

Maybe people like myself, want it for a ancillary option to their PC, or people can't be assed buying a pc...or maybe people just want the thing.

Sure, not as many people as playstation but there must be like 25 million or so out there right now.

I love my series x and ps5 but let's be honest, there's no real reason to own either if you have a pc.

Would love if the controller actually becomes a reality, well an elite version of it anyway.

Probably sold all the stock that got allotted for the discount.

Discounts are typically ran with a budget in mind, like say I am Microsoft, and I want to liquidate some Series X stock from Amazon warehouses for whatever reason (new bundles coming out, Xbox slim change over, retailer request to reduce inventory etc), so what I do is I'd use some of my budget to discount $150 to liquidate say, 2000 units of the straight pack (i.e. just the console itself, no bundles).

The math would end up being: $150 x 2000 = $300,000.

That 300k gets taken out of the Xbox marketing department's budget and paid to Amazon, and they'd execute the discount based on that.

The $350 deal for D4 is gone from Walmart unless you see it somewhere else (or your local Walmart still has it).

It shows up for shipping, pickup, and delivery on my side. However, the shipping is showing as Next-Day, so it's possible that it's "shipped" from the store as it's unusual for anything to arrive that quickly from Walmart. However, it's a distinctly different option than "delivery".

*EDIT* I switched delivery address and it changed to $469, so it is "shipped" from my local store. Weird that it's shown as different than delivery. I'd guess it's the difference between FedEx/UPS doing the deliver, or a spark driver buying it and delivering it.

Bummer.

*EDIT*

Looks like the deal is over for any unit from Walmart. Price is back to $450 unless your local store has it.

Even as someone who has a powerful PC, the Xbox Series X has its uses.

I use it for Xbox 360 BC (best BC versions of all BC titles, many of which aren't on PC). That alone makes the purchase price worth it for me as I have a massive collection of Original Xbox/Xbox 360 BC titles.

Add in the 4K Blu-Ray drive, which might be removed in the revision and it was a steal at $350 for me, and that drive allows me to use 360 discs of some delisted games.

I also got the Forza bundle, which gave me a Play anywhere code I can use on both console and PC (~$50 value).

If someone didn't have a powerful PC like me, they'd get even more use out Series X than me.

This thread is already in the toilet, so I want to respond to this.

Who has somehow gone for this many years wanting to play Xbox console exclusives but still hasn't purchased a modern Xbox console? I mean, it's been six years since the Xbox One X. Is someone out there rubbing their hands together at this and saying, "see, it pays to wait!"

The money would be better spent on a PS4 Pro! At this point, you are buying an Xbox for gamepass, or because you were an Xbox 360 kid and are locked into the ecosystem.

What a bizarre thing. Why does it have to be someone whose waited 6 years? It could be new people interested in those console games and don't have, or don't want, to get a gaming PC.

Here’s an easy answer for you. The last Playstation I had was a PS2. I switched for Gears and Halo basically (I’m an MP guy). Over the years, there’s been loads of great releases on the PS, and I want to play them. The only thing stopping me pulling the trigger is how ugly and monstrous the PS5 is. One day though…

Plus, the world hasn’t stopped populating. There are kids getting their first real consoles this Xmas, believe it or not!

Just out of curiosity, are there any high quality disc only BC titles for Series X you know of not including Arkham Origins, Silent Hill Downpour, and Driver: San Francisco?

There's quite a few disc only, the notable ones (IMO) are:

MGS HD Collection (digital got delisted)
50 Cent Blood on the sand
FEAR (the first one)
Forza Horizon (the first one)
Mortal Kombat 9

So I was thinking about this, but this means I'll need to sell my One S, and migrate all my games to this one. The thing is full, and so is my external drive.

I think I'm lazy and don't wanna do that, plus....I rarely play any games on it. I have LOTS....but I don't touch the Xbox much.

But I still wanna do this kinda...

You can just plug your external drive into the Series.

is Walmart in store only? That’s what it’s showing for my area anyway
Initially it was everything. I did pickup order at 5-6am pst. At this point it seems it’s local pickup or store to home delivery only depending on local stock.

My store is down to the base unit only, but it’s still $350. Diablo IV went out of stock a few hours ago for in-store. I don’t think even the electronics employees knew this was coming or it would have sold out faster. My store is 7am-12am and the in-store shoppers had my unit ready right around 7am.

You were on it early, gg

All the online ones were gone and I don't have one close by otherwise I might've gone for one.. it makes a great gift

Series x at 350 is a hell of a deal. Not everyone has a decent enough pc to play the latest games with decent performance and resolution. The whats the use for a xbox if I can play everything on pc is quite tiring. Sure it's not needed if you have a beefy pc. Even at $500 try to build a pc that can play modern games at series x performance and form factor. Wtf is the point of the switch might as well get a pc and run your switch games on yuzu 4k 60fps too.

I guess I'll disagree with that statement. I bought a Series S in December last year, just sold it today. Almost zero use outside of getting points with MS Rewards. Series S, Series X, wouldn't have made a difference, still would have got the same play time. I will say I probably played it more than my PS5 this year which has legit collected dust.

Kinda weird they didn't do this for black friday if it's on sale but then again it's not this price on the official website 🤔 maybe Amazon and Walmart jumped the gun
If you know anything about Amazon sales, they are ALWAYS reactionary to retailers. If you see something on sale on Amazon, chances are the sales are already happening at either Best Buy, Target, Walmart or Gamestop.
