I love how much the action escalates. It goes from cautious feeling out of each other out, to getting more competitive, to straight up sticking their guns in the other's face for a point blank headshot.

Same. It helped that Takayanagi was established as quiet and physically unremarkable, yet is so above and beyond everyone else. Made him look like a badass, yet relatable. And the fight actually had some character development and stakes to it, which is more than should be said of an ecchi/fanservice anime.

Then he proceeded to job completely throughout the entire show. The other characters were uninteresting, as was the story, and the animation was average at best. Still watched it to the end, never to watch it again.

Oh if you like him he basically
becomes the main character in the manga and smokes everyone until the final fight.

Although let it be said that good project management and team communications when you're not trying to push out several trash shows a year works wonders for quality.

Yeah, up there as one of my biggest disappointments. Like, This Ugly yet Beautiful World, which started with the main character getting an violent alien transformation that he can't control, but we don't come back to this dark superheroish theme until the very last episode after it's been set up. Just shonen romance nonsense

With so many classics already mentioned I feel like Dead Fantasy 02 deserves a shout out

The way the fight escalates is just so insane but masterfully handled. The whole creativity of the varying settings makes it easy to look past the small budget, as well as keeping in mind that it was all made by one guy

OK this anime was probably the last time I punched along before Academia haha. That fight was great. Mouth was wide open after the final punch of that barrage. Absolutely love the intensity of the fights in the show. Ever punch is like a damn cannon lol.

Same here. They did great on the scene, episode too. Got chills when All Might showed up. Was about ready to murder all the villains lol.

While the fight against Supes is the one people bring up when talking about TDKR, I actually like Bat's fight with the Mutant Leader better. The fight was especially brutal and pulse pounding. Plus, it has Batman saying the most badass Batman line ever. I would also like to give a shout out to the Superman/Supergirl vs. Darkseid fight in Superman/Batman: Apocalypse.
