Driveclub PS Plus Edition Coming Soon

I really think and wish they would bring back the catalog of PS + games like before, games that would stay their for the entire year

Does the final game look better than the version running on demo kiosks? Because that version looks worse than Forza 5.
You sure you're not confusing frame rate with graphics? I don't own forza 5 but I dohorizon 2 and DRIVECLUB both of which run at 30 and DRIVECLUB blows horizon 2 out of the water so I really doubt forza 5 looks better

To those of you saying Sony should give away the full game, what of the people that already purchased the full game?
Discount the season pass and refund current owners of it the difference

In the video you can see him running the Ps Plus edition with many options labeled with the "coming soon" phrase. He says that the new version is better than the original planned one, and he gave us the car list.

I must tell you that he got the Ps Plus edition in october through the hong kong store, before it was removed.

Have those "coming soon" labels been there since October?

I bought the game full price October last year. If they now want to give it away for free on PS+ then sure, why not. The game has already dropped in value significantly and I've gotten my playtime out of it.

I bought the full game. I am a few stars away from finishing it. I think it's a great game that deserves all the love. Give it in its entirety and stop focusing on dividing a product that's already divided by Season Pass and DLCs. No need to be salty over a last year title being free*.

In fact, this may sell people on getting the Season Pass instead of playing a few events and saying "I'm satisfied". I stopped playing the game after winning the first championship (Rookie?). I came back to it after all the patches and free DLC, and I'm practically done getting stars and unlocking all the free* Tours.

I think giving the full package is the only way to do justice to the game. Sell them on Season Pass. Sell them on Ultimate Editions. Give the vanilla away.

I would definitely love free Season Pass but the only way they can do it right is by going by the date of purchase.

I dont get shit all when a game I bought goes 'free' on PSN+, why should Driveclub owners?
I think you can all agree that the situation isn't the same and this is an extraordinary case. A considerable amount of people purchased Driveclub because the plus edition was nowhere to be found.

No, not really. If you bought a full game because a slightly large demo didn't exist, that would have been fairly foolish. I wouldn't see it as any different to any other full retail game being on PS+.

I think it's moot anyway as the fact the Plus version has been patched is pretty telling.

Might be saving it for E3.

Apologise for the delay and will be available after the conference.

Finally! This is such a fun racing game too. I guess they want to compete since there's a new racer in town?

So you bought the full version instead of the demo and feel you should compensated? Lol

Glad to see this is finally going to hit, but this getting delayed like 7+ months still just feels like they delayed it to avoid conflicting with the full title's sales, and that they never intended to launch it day and date.

I'm actually surprised, considering the dev team has been trimmed to basically a game-as-service group, that they don't just make the PS+ version free-to-play, give it to everyone free, and sell cars and liveries individually, similar to DOA5.

They did intend it, it even released in Hong Kong on the same day, but the servers were so terrible they had to pull it as it couldn't even handle the number of people who bought the full game.

The intentions were right, it was just a massive cock up.

I've only seen Driveclub live at those PS4 demo kiosks they have in stores. The game itself is only a demo version. So I'd assume an early version? Because it doesn't look great. At all. Forza isn't a looker either, that's the point.

But again, this is a demo kiosk demo version. I'm assuming the final game looks better.

It's not like they are even remotely similar tho

You son't sell DC to a sim fan, same for someone who prefers arcade racing games

Right, but the PS Plus version has never been patched until now and it's change what they have access to, so they're clearly gearing up for something.

...or, if it remains unpatched any longer, it'll break multiplayer capability.

This is gold. I applaud you greatly. I shall name my next agar.io bubble after you in your honor.

edit: You lasted 10 minutes with a rank of 3, though a "Black Hole" swallowed you up. RIP :(

Story of my life.

Thanks Square-Enix!

Of course it's coming. They even said it in the latest patch notes

"preparing servers for the PS+ version" or something like that

The interesting question is how long is Sony going to offer the PS+ version. Just one month like every PS+ game or lifetime so new and old PS+ users can download it when ever they want (aka F2P)? Would be silly to just have it for one month available after all the stress and work Evo went through to get this shit out

And I would bet Sony is gonna make a big fuss about it at E3 and everyone will laugh at them and the shit will backfire hard to them because gamers are a bunch of ungrateful jerks lol

They're not going to highlight how badly they fucked up Drive Club during their E3 conference. Because that's what an "It's available now!" would do. It only took them a year and a half, but here it is! No. Before E3. Maybe announced with the June PS+ games.

I hope the PS Plus version gets more cars and more regions as it seems kinda barebones now.
From OP's video, it looks like it now gets 15 cars (instead of 10 initially, they've added access to the Audi A1 Quattro, the Lotus Evora S, the Alfa Romeo 4c, the Marussia B2 and the Koenigsegg Agera R), and offers full access to the Startline Tour, which features additional cars and locations (the Welcome to Driveclub event makes you race a Mercedes GTS in Norway, for example).

They still want you to buy the game, though, so they'll bring the petits fours to get you seated, but don't expect them to pay you the whole dinner.

Given it's just a big demo, lifetime access makes more sense.

Just load up any one of the countless online gameplay videos from the game, on to your TV to see how it might look for you, and judge for yourself. Kiosks are usually always set up in the most awful ways, sometimes with older builds of games to boot.

that's right, and there are some more differences. For example now the game says it's the Ps plus edition, the october build it was just like the retail game, but with locked content. The multi, create club, challenges were unlocked in october, as you can verify from his profile page http://psnprofiles.com/trophies/2924-DRIVECLUB/odytsak but now they have the "coming soon" label. He can no longer join his own club.

Pretty sure it's on sale on PSN at the moment (At least in the UK) for £15. If you've waited this long and want to play it, then that really doesn't seem like a bad price.

Given it's just a big demo, lifetime access makes more sense.

I don't think it's a demo, it's the full game but with less content (at least if it's still what they originally said it was going to be). If I remember correctly, you can even platinum the game in the 'Free' version.

Got the game for free and found it pretty awful. Glad I didn't waste the time downloading it.

If you're really desperate for the game it's incredibly cheap second hand so might as well pay a few dollars and get the full features. But again wouldn't recommend it.

e: yeah it's $18 used lol

After the first delay DC was dropped as a IGC title. Before the launch in Oct/Nov? Sony said the PS+ edition would be available over the Christmas period to download.
