Unless you were planning on getting this game and playing through the entire thing on Day Zero (because you know some shops will inevitably release it early by mistake) you were going to have to deal with this regardless. That's the case for every game these days.

Or later, depending on when the game leaks, if it does.

What rubbish . Yes this is highly unlikely . Unless you decide to park yourself where ppl are coming out and discussing . If you're unfortunately enough some person blurts it out yes he's an ass it's a risk of life some ppl are asses . Don't want to be spoiled the analogy is take precautions don't go on free roam gaming sites . And no need to stay constantly connected with the whole planet on fb/twitter . It's a trade off between social contact (online soial contact) and your need to be spoiler free . Pick one . How world works . Deal. The world isn't strictly moderated like gaf ...

Well sunday is also when the review embargo lifts so i guess there will be bigger spoilers than just those first 5 missions, i mean people gotta talk and write about something right? that being said i still hope they have a pretty restrict NDA.

So yeah, the real problem is the way too early review embargo, over one week before a highly anticipated game comes out is just not ok imo.

Except that people wanting to hide themselves to a reasonable degree from something before they are even physically able to watch/play/read it is a totally reasonable want, while tearing discourse down because it offends you is not.

For this situation, I'm sure that not much will come out from Greg's LP that will ruin someone's experience. But in general, I don't see how it's an unfair desire to say fuck it to the over saturation of pre-release leakage and spoilers. Post-release plays by different rules.

The trick is to avoid YT and Facebook comment sections (generally good life advice) and to quit Twitter.
Just stick to Gaf until it's over.

Kinda Funny Games didn't start until this year. Ground Zeroes was in like March of last year. So I don't think they did a let's play on their channel.

Nobody said it's not reasonable to not want the game spoiled, but the reality is that spoilers are going to happen whether you like it or not. So you can either be an adult about it or whine about it on the internet.

Also, if people out there really want to hide themselves before this game comes out, the solution is simple. Turn off your internet.

Nick did a let's play of it a few weeks ago. He was fucking around a lot though, don't think it was too serious.

Aww man, I've been avoiding trailers and gameplay and pics for over 6 months now. The next 2 weeks is going to be ROUGH. Is it possible that there is story related embargos that will last longer?

That's what I do on Sundays when I can't watch GoT live. My router is unplugged until I can watch the episode.

If you really care about spoilers that much, then this shouldn't be a problem. I find that most people just like to whine and complain but not willing to actually act on it.

I was under the impression you were arguing it unreasonable considering you were likening it to turning a cold shoulder to the holocaust.

Not at all. People have every right to not want to be offended or in this case, spoiled on a game, but at the same time you can't just say something shouldn't exist because it bothers you.

LPs have been a big thing for years now, but he's not really doing a pre-release playthrough as much as a five mission preview thats avoiding spoilers. His real Lp is happening when the game releases.

Honeatly im much more worried about reviewers spoiling the game than his lp spoiling it.

It is possible that they are not allowed to talk about certain things. I hope it's like 90% of the game they can't talk about.

But then again i won't read a single review, only look at the score and that's it.

Thanks, man.

I think everything got a bit out of control last week. Part of that has to do with me announcing it and then going right back to playing. By the time I came up for air, things were already skewed.

Tonight's Let's Play starts the game from the second mission, and we break it up from there. So, yeah, if you watch those, you'd have the mission setups "spoiled," but nothing is spoiled that a trailer hasn't already spoiled. Nothing in these let's plays answers any of the questions we all had about this game. It's the tip of the sword.

Don't get me wrong, I totally understand skipping the coverage if you want to go in totally blank (it's what I did for Batman), but the anger that arose as if Quiet's entire story was going to be posted on YouTube two weeks early was a bit off base.

And, so, I filmed the Review AFTER everything went down with the LPs, so I wanted to b super-safe there.

As far as I got it, review embargos are up today, but only Gregg got the permission from Konami for pre-launch video production. He will release daily videos of his playthrough, up to mission 5, and after game launches he will unveil the [very spoilery] opening chapter [hospital].

I couldn't possibly watch this. I hope those that do find it enjoyable, though.

Mission after the Prologue. Technically Mission 1, but everyone's been so skittish, I didn't dare try to explain that in 140 characters. Not the hospital!
