Build some clinics. Flags aren't gonna heal boo boos.

Yeah, tier 3 clinics is what got it for me. Had 16 stores of every other kind, well all tier 3 food, clothes, trade, and one weapon. Couldn't get passed 95. Fortunately I was rich and close to leveling up. Went out got a perk in medic, scrapped all my stores and built the clinics. Went smoothly from there, took awhile though.

What. The. Fuck.

You can actually fail missions of you don't get there in time??? What bullshit is this. I was never warned of this in the game!

It's just the repeatable quests that do this as far as I know. There'll be another one around in a few minutes.

They're still nowhere near the level of F1 or F2 or, even, New Vegas. Because Bethesda fuck them up and changed their role.

i personally find it hilarious because due to the systems every single vertibird i've seen that engages in combat goes down in flames to garbage-tier raiders and super muties

Oh man. Dunwich Borers is sooo good. Best area in the game. Thought it was going to be a boring clear out raiders quest and it turns into so much more.

Still havent been there. I got some shit to do after I finish the game.

And ive yet to delve into building but I will. And be shit at it.

With all the problems that this game has, I think there's one thing I've found that it's very good at;

Just the random, non-story, encounters that you can get into. Maybe you'll find an item, maybe not. Maybe there aren't any enemies or tapes to play or safes to pick or consoles to hack. Maybe it's just the afterimage of a scene that happened long before you arrived.

For example, I was wandering Boston proper near the Commons and got attacked by some raiders near a fire escape. So I fight them up the escape and get to the top and kill them all off. And I'm searching around and pick up some ammo. Then I get to one roof that has a patio chair next to a box with some refreshments on it and a gun with no body nearby. And in front of that chair is a ramp that just...raises up to the end of the building and leads nowhere. So I look at it and get on it and look across to the building across the street and I see a body hanging out of a blown out opening to this building full of crates and supplies. So I run and take a leap of faith and make it in. And look around and loot the place then look over the side of the building to see how the hell to get down. And I notice the street has the bodies of random traders and settlers in between the two buildings. And when I eventually hop down I find one that's just legs sticking out of the ground, on purpose. And that was it. Nothing else, no logs or papers or anything. Just a little self-contained shot of the world. And it fucking worked.

Then I wander over to the Boylston Club and hop in. (Spoilering just in case)
And I wander upstairs and just enter a fancy room full of skeletons. Just fucking cloyed with skeletons and bottles of alcohol. And I wander around looking for shit just picking up the wine as I go until I notice something right as I grab a bottle and see it's name flash by. So I go into my inventory and check and yep, the name of the wine is Poison Wine. So I find Poison Wine all around this place, completely unusable as an item since it just detracts from stats, in the hands of these skeletons or near them. And then I find the holotape that has the man announcing a toast and closing of the club. And that's it. There's nothing there, nothing much of anything except some middling loot. And it's just this perfect little scene that works.

Those are the moments I'm loving from this game, in between groaning at my limited dialogue options and not caring about my stupid sack of baby.

Does anyone know the map location (at least the name) of where the SIDEQUEST SPOILER
USS Constitution crashes into
? Aparently you can go there

Only the misc ones I think. I didn't save some kid in time, but the dad gave me another quest anyways.

Nothing important. Intense standoffs can wait if it is a named quest. Timed misc events pop up all the time.

This was a settlement one I think. Not sure. Tenpines Bluff. It said they're no longer aligned with me.

Actually it tells you "there is little time left to do x". I just noticed myself.

Well shit. I missed that.

That might be my favorite location in the game because of how understated it is. For as much as they gutted the dialogue and RPG elements, they absolutely nailed the thrill of exploration on this one.

Oh snap, so I was exploring and came across Polymer Labs and inside there was this cool puzzle. I won't spoil too much but if you do it properly you get a piece of gear. I don't know if it's random but holy shit I scored big if it is. This is the strongest piece of gear I own.

Is a shotgun something viable to build around? Maybe using it in power armor for funsies? It just seems like with only two types of shotguns there won't be much room to grow.

I'm not sure if there are perks around it, but I found a double barrel that deals explosive damage off of a legendary bear and it's become a key part of my arsenal.

Huh? What did I say? Did I screw up again? :(

Jealousy doesn't even begin to describe me right now. Also, I've never met you but I'm pretty sure I hate you now.
OH GOD I'M SO SALTY RIGHT NOW :(

Please at least tell me you didn't get all that loot at once. If you did then please send me your address and layout a plastic tarp in your living room. I want to come give you one million bucks because you're such a swell guy :(

It should be marked on your map.
It's still called "USS Constitution". It's north-east of Goodneighbor.

Just walked into Goodneighbour for the first time and I stumbled upon (Character spoiler)
the fucking Vault-Tec guy! Holy shit. That was surprising, he's had a fucking rough break lol. I sent him back to Sanctuary but haven't seen him show up anywhere yet.

I'm really really loving this game, I can't put it down.

Fallout 4 is a fine entry point.

It's probably better to play the Bethesda games before the Black Isle or Obsidian ones.

If you're new to the series, I would recommend the games in this order:

- Fallout 4
- Fallout 1
- Fallout 2
- Fallout: New Vegas

Fallout 3 is optional, as Fallout 4 is basically that.

Fallout 1, 2, and New Vegas have story continuity. The Bethesda games are practically spinoffs, they really do their own thing.

Cool, I'll try Fallout 4.

Yes to both

I'm leaning towards PC, I like the idea of playing without a comfy couch :p

I spent way too much time making this for how unhappy I am with how it turned out.

We need a shitload of copper.

There aren't enough colors for proper shading.

Also the draw distance isn't far enough for me to be able to see it from the roof of my house like I hoped, or even to get a better sense of the ship.

I needed ~30 of the big generators.

Okay, I need to ask how ppl are getting the lights.

20 hours in and I just figured out how to equip guns and armor on other people in game. Give them something then equip it on them with Triangle/Y.

Does anyone give their companion power armor? Does it interrupt the gameplay? I'm thinking of having
Curie
in PA

I used to give my companions, but it became more of a pain in the ass than anything. Mainly the whole power armor managing.

Having to use resources to constantly repair the armor because the companion be doing stupid shit to break the armor really quick.

Having to always talk to them to get them in and out of the power armor, and depending on their pathing or obstacles in their way, that can take a while.

Companions don't die anyway so I stopped making them use power armor as I really didnt see a point to it.

Most definitely. I still use my "long barrel" combat shotgun for anything up close and personal. For over 70h by now... It kicks THAT much ass. The mods you can craft make it "grow" with you. Also, there is the "scatter" laser, which technically functions like a shot gun, but I sticked with the conventional one. I can tell you where you can find this baby:

The best modifier would be "Shoots an additional target", which is "double damage" in all but its name.

If a dialog option is orange, is it just unlikely to happen, or impossible?
It's a chance, so just save and reload if you didn't get it. You can technically have 1 CHA and succeed at every charisma check.

I've still yet to use Power Armor outside the Deathclaw fight at the beginning..Now have 4 frames(I'm sure I had a 5th, but I think someone took it for a joyride..they're now on a floating platform and I just rebuild/store stairs every time I add a new one) and 13 100% cores. I think I'm doing the same thing in this as many did with DA:I, lots of side missions and staying near the beginning of the game, I've only gotten as far as
the Brotherhood's airships ariving.
, Level 21.

I would disagree with that play order. Why would you start with the game with the most modern and polished controls? If you like top-down isometric RPG's start with the original Fallout games. If you prefer the FPS the series has become I would start with Fallout: New Vegas, afterwards you can play FO3 if you like otherwise skip to Fallout 4.

my first time walking to diamond city, i saw two deathclaws brawling in the distance on the road South. I snuck away.

NPC settler outside the hardware store tells me to follow her, her sister's dying, then draws her gun and points it at me but doesn't fire. I figure the AI isn't actually that good, turn around. Deathclaw barrelling straight at me. Holy shit..

I get the fuck out of dodge. It's my first time to Diamond City so Piper is hammering on the shutter outside. The thing has torn out the settler's throat and is chasing after me. It ignores several turrets and secrutiy guards and slams me against a car and eats me.

wtf

Funny I got what is arguably's the game's best power armor stat-wise (that isn't like a special one) but I never use power armor. I have only put it on for two occasions:

- to fight Swan (Didn't even need it I was overleveled and wrecked his shit with two mini nukes)

- To help me in a fight against a deathclaw in a specific mission because it's close quarters and he takes up like 1/5th of the room lol)

And even then I didn't even need it.

Yeah, apparently luck (likely the stat, rather than being random) can come into play as well.

I have decent charisma, plus my equipment, and high ass luck. I guess that's why I easily was able to romance all of the three main ladies. My guy has his harem. Though only Cait has the wedding ring. She's his main waifu.

Right on. Does Rifleman increase the damage of shotguns? Normally I wouldn't think so but I can't see what else would on the perk sheet. And yeah, if you know where to find that I'd definitely like to know, thanks!

I was walking along and spotted a legendary Mr Gutsy. As I was getting my rifle ready to take a few potshots before moving in he suddenly zooms around into some rocks around the bend. I can see his laser firing so I know he's fighting something. As I'm moving that direction I see an explosion so I know he went boom.

So I'm thinking, shit, whatever it was took out the legendary. I get around the corner and there are two deathclaws, one a legendary itself. The legendary is limping, the other is kinda slinking away. Both of them have just a sliver of health left. I rifled them both, took my items and moved on.

Gutsy fucked them up pretty good on his way out.

what gun is that?
