So after MS announced closing all their stores. We are suppose to believe Satya Nadella will green light its weakest division.
Acquisition money in the 100million+ range to buy studios/talent that WB want to get rid off themselves. In a financial hard year.
In a year the xbox is releasing a new product & spending heavy.

Some of this shit man. SMH.
4 Billion+

I guess you're not going to go into any details.... hints?

What I would consider a couple of mega tons coming from Sony might be different then what others feel would be huge.

Sony did not unload both barrels in its first show.

Xbox is going to have a very good show

Strap in we are about to see some next gen stuff.

PS - When I say next gen stuff I don't only mean graphics.

Excited, I'll have my eyes on both sides. Thanks for the insight!

Maybe those games don't interest you, and the Xbox games to be shown will interest you more. But Horizon FW, Spiderman, GT7 at least are big hitters.
We shall see, but if they come with Halo, Fable, Forza, Everwild, and a new IP or two, that would easily stack up.

Hmm you started with Playstation. There's only one company talking next gen. So everything big is with PS.

Anything that has games that have to run on jaguar is not next gen. So I don't see expect next gen on the xbox side. Should be more worried that there are no clone type games. Its not hard to have a good show. Show games & gameplay. They have done it before. It should keep xbox guys happy.

But your post just pretty much say its all PS doing the next gen. At least how i read this.

EDIT: I just seen your last post.

If its VR related, DON'T EVER SHOW YOUR FACE AROUND HERE AGAIN.
The rest, I LOVE YOU.

I dont do VR :)

Hm. Are the birdies talking just games or hardware or pricing!? Can we expect PS stuff this month or is it all next month?

No idea on pricing. I mean I have a guess like everyone else but birdies do not speak $$$

All I can try to sum it up is think of XsX as a seriously upgraded Xbox which is great.

Think of PS5 as a new generation of console

Were you one of the people that thought showing Shenmue 3 was a megaton? Just so I know to temper expectations. 😅

This would mean that the peak and average utilization numbers for next gen consoles would be
  • Peak
    • Xbox Series X - 9.6TFlop
    • PS5 - 8Tflop
  • Average
    • Xbox Series X - 8.4Tflop
    • PS5 - 7 Tflop

You clearly have little to no idea what you're talking about, but those are your smart shift boosted numbers.

You don't get to take the already boosted 10.28tflop PS5 and then reapply the same boost. That's misterxmedia tier bullshitting.

You should read again. It's an efficiency boost, TFlops don't matter. What matters is how many transistors you switch on with your paper budget.

The discussion is that Xbox One is holding back the Xbox Series X version. Nothing you have said shows anything like that. Will the next Halo after Infinite look even better, of course. Will the current version be held back by Xbox One? No, because like I said, they'll have two teams working on this within 343i. Just like Rise of The Tomb Raider had a separate team for the Xbox 360 version. Did the Xbox 360 version hold back the Xbox One/PS4 version? No.

My argument isn't money by the way. My argument is two versions of a single game.

C'mon man, just be real here. Of course it's holding back. By your own admission, they will need to employ 2 teams to basically make the same game. And to be honest I don't even think that's what they will do at all. Will be the same game minus certain features, lower res, lower frame rate, less particles, etc. No real improvements to AI because the last gen machine literally can't handle it, tight hallways and/or elevators to separate zones, etc.

It it what it is, and if you expect something else, quite frankly you're in for a world of disappointment.

The jump in terms of CPU alone is massive, especially when you compare last gen to current gen transition. Same for the storage speeds. We went from optical+5200 hdds on the ps360 era to exactly the same this gen. It's like taking a formula 1 car and having it race in a go-kart track.

Nah, he said that (paraphrasing here): if the work they've done with AMD makes it into their next generation of chips, then they'll know they've done a good job.
As @Thirty7ven says, it's that way around. Sony partnered with AMD to come up with new technologies which will be exhibited in the new console, and if it works and works well then that technology will be incorporated into AMD's next gen chipsets. It's not exactly a mind-blowing revelation.
I see people are arguing the RDNA 3 and Zen 3 stuff again. I don't think it's out the realm of possibility,

in fact Mark Cerny himself pretty much gave this away in his infamous technical talk:

"we have our own needs for Playstation so that can factor into what the AMD roadmap becomes"

As far as I am aware, it was RedGamingTech who first broke the news of the PS5 APU sharing some features with RDNA 3 and Zen 3, everyone else who reported this information did so after him. He also recently said that the Series X APU will also have features from future roadmaps as well so the insecure fanboys can chill out.

Initially RedGamingTech was never explicitly told that PS5 may have RDNA 3 or Zen 3 features, he was just told by the source that he should look at what Sony have done in the past with their customised CPU/GPU and he'll get an understanding of what is happening inside the PS5 APU, this is an obvious reference to PS4 Pro's APU featuring RapidPackedMath, which was a feature not available on AMD's Polaris but was later featured in the Vega GPUs. This was months ago and RedGamingTech has began doubling down on his claims because of other sources pretty much confirming this.

As for the specifics of these features, I think he did go into some detail about them in some of his videos. He did state that the PS5's Zen 2 will have unified CCX Clusters to reduce latency, this feature is not on Zen 2 but will be found on Zen 3. As for the GPU, I think he did go over what the specifics of these would be but I don't recall, I'll have to go back and watch some of his videos. Again just to reiterate, according to RedGamingTech both PS5 and Series X will feature customisations found in future AMD Roadmaps.

This and this. I don't know why some find it hard to understand, it's been specifically explained to us, it's called collaboration, mutual benefit.

I wonder about the things like cache scrubbers etc how they came about and what part collaborations have played in shaping the roadmap, hiw big a part did each company play.

If PS5 does have unified ccx and xbox doesn't seem to from pics weve seen then does that mean they were involved in that?

I could read it 1000 times and it won't make it any less delusional.

There is a reason the XSX has fixed clocks. It's because Microsoft know they can power and cool it at that frequency. They have the "paper budget" required.

Sony has directly confirmed that they cannot do that. So you can only calculate down from 10.28, and never, ever, upwards.

Microsoft Expresses Interest in Acquiring Warner Game Unit - The Information

I find it hard to believe. In better times, MS, with all their money war chest, only showed interest in buying small studios, why would they shove a ton of money to acquire WB Studios in such a financially compromised year(pandemic, next gen release)?
