I’m glad they’ve finally seemingly made the game that can satisfy both the legacy Bungie fans and the fans of 4 and 5.
The hyperbole around 343 has always made me laugh though. They’ve made 3 critically acclaimed games, with Halo 5’s multiplayer being lauded as one of the best in the series and the MCC being one of the best games of the generation full stop. They’ve always had the gunplay down, even in Halo 4. The way people talk about them you’d think they are some shitty mobile dev.
As you say, they must be feeling very good right now.
Im still playing on an Xbox one lol. The biggest problem I have are games occasionally crash at the start of a match and my box restarts. It's frustrating but doesn't happen often enough to make me buy a new system. I've noticed that it happens more in big team battle in the Halo 3 forge maps.MCC is perfectly playable atm on all xbox consoles. I've been playing Reach and H3 MLG daily. What kind of problems are you running into?
I'd put Halo 4 matchmaking over Halo 3 and waayyyy over Reach. But I know that's not a common opinion. Everyone loves Halo 3 so much and I'm just like ewww most of the time lol.343I is under fire because they've managed to get Halo from one of the biggest franchises in the business to semi-irrelevent in the timespan of 10 years.
Halo 4's multiplayer was easily the worst in the series. Campaign was allright but a far cry from Halo 3
Halo5's single player was the worst in the series. Multiplayer was great after 2 years but everybody had left by then.
MCC: Broken for the first couple of years. Nowadays indeed one of the best games around, but the first couple of years really didn't help their reputation.
They finally seem to grasp Halo with Infinite, but let's not pretend like they've got a good track record.
Exactly.
Exactly.

Certainly.Exactly.
That's not true at all xDFlight sim is a poor example as the level of detail is being rendered from a cloud server farm
Why can't we just all get on?Certainly.
Is there loot, I hadn’t heard that. Have they said if you will keep weapons you find or are they unlocked and equipped like loadouts?RPG elements with openworld setings......imagin loot what will you find, armor & weapon upgrades, worhog, banshy, sabre upgrades.....infinite player preferences......I think we will see also some sort of skill system......can't wait for it.
That’s crazy. I didn’t know that.Flight sim is a poor example as the level of detail is being rendered from a cloud server farm. Rendering offline and natively from the console itself and the graphics look downright mediocre.
Look at the scale and how everything has its own set of physics within the massive sandbox, its just an incredibly dynamic game that very few games come close to. Then take into account the advanced AI (no respawning enemies) who can use all the weapons and vehicles within the sandbox, it's a technical marvel and goes way beyond your normal AAA game.Despite the fact that it is clearly the same fucking Halo Reach(wich is heavily updated Halo 1 engine at it's core) engine with the new coat of paint the are trying to sell as "new"
It looks decent.
Nothing extraordinary though.

Nothing official....just my imagination.Watching the treiler I picked up some glimps of posible upgrades (at gavity hamer play). Is there loot, I hadn’t heard that. Have they said if you will keep weapons you find or are they unlocked and equipped like loadouts?
Its is not true.. rubbish in letter form..That’s crazy. I didn’t know that.
With a few FarCry stuff too. It really can be the best in the seriesTaking cues from DOOM/DOOM Eternal? I was sceptical as I am of most new games, but this actually has the potential to be the best Halo game
Yeah. It looks like Halo engine launched on 12 tf machine with 720p/30 XOne version n 300000000 $ budget. All that and it looks top 5 graphics for the year anyway. Only Flightsim, R&C, Forza 5 and probably Battlefield look better IMO, and apart from Flightsim and maybe Battlefield none are technically as impressive.
That is not true. The console renders everything locally, the only thing that is streamed is map data and other live aspects like weather and flight traffic. All the graphical bells and whistles are 100% rendered on the local GPU.Flight sim is a poor example as the level of detail is being rendered from a cloud server farm. Thank you. I was just about to reply to correct that nonsense. The reason offline rendering looks worse is because you can't store petabytes of map and weather data of the Earth locally. That is not true. This looks nothing like a doom clone.Despite all hate the game looks awesome. I just wish it isn't a DOOM 2016 clone at half the speed. Please, be more like Halo 1 and 2.
4k version
Well, we had basically 7 games with "linear" levels (as much as a typical Halo level could be considered "linear"), I really think that a bit of change could be welcome.Would have preferred much more linear levels like usual to be honest.
Overall, I expected better from a graphical point of view for the game on Xbox Series X.
On the other hand I really liked what I've seen in the campaign trailer and now I can't wait to play it.
Textures certainly look greatGame will, hopefully, do another big jump in fidelity once later expansions drop the Xbox one and Xbox one x. Keep in mind that infinite releases for those as well. There is only so much magic you can push with those consoles being dragged along.
Yeah, this is what I am thinking alsoGame will, hopefully, do another big jump in fidelity once later expansions drop the Xbox one and Xbox one x. Keep in mind that infinite releases for those as well. There is only so much magic you can push with those consoles being dragged along.
Halo CE, Halo 2, Halo 3, Halo Reach, Halo 4.. etcI can't recall a AAA single player title that has had this little footage from the campaign before release, but here's hoping The Legend of Cortana: Halo of the Wild holds up. My hope is it'll be a reverse Cyberpunk where they're actually trying to preserve more of the game because its great and worthy of being experienced. I dunno though, I look forward to reviews.
It will get another self-defined name imo, I am okay with others in the game world naming the AI based off its function. The only thing that really bothered me was the new AI name “the weapon”

By the time they stop, the streaming option for Series X games on XB1 should be out. Sure it's not the same as playing it locally, but at least the option to continue playing it is still there. It will get another self-defined name imo, I am okay with others in the game world naming the AI based off its function.
I am trying to remember the stuff that they are going to be adding post release:
- raytracing
- more dynamic weather
- co-op
- forge
I do wonder how they will make the decision when to stop supporting the xbox one with post release content but that's going to be a bit of a pain for xbox one users.

The post release stuff? Most of it is based off their blogs/videos. Raytracing was confirmed in the latest pc overview. The dynamic weather is the only one that's a bit of a stretch but its based offWhere is this information?
Shadows, ambient light and normal mapping is a bit harsh. Not sure how they settled on that. The graphics still look a little off like the lighting is in the uncanny valley (if that's a thing) where it doesn't look quite right. Still will be playing this day 1 and the trailer did give me goosebumps so bring it on.
The only two games on my list for the remainder of this year are FH5 and H:I on the PC. Can't really think of anything else, unless I'm missing a smaller budget indie title or the like.Xbox is going to own the end of 2021. Great year for the Series X.
Age of Empires 4 is this week. The only two games on my list for the remainder of this year are FH5 and H:I on the PC. Can't really think of anything else, unless I'm missing a smaller budget indie title or the like.
Oh shit, that's right... make that 3!Age of Empires 4 is this week.
