This is sad when we go into a state of play expecting to be fed with last week's reheated pasta without enough sauce instead of a nice filet mignon.

Let's see. My expectations are low. At best, I'll be pleasantly surprised. At worst, I won't be disappointed because I wasn't expecting anything. Hopefully there will be a few good single-player games (preferably (J)RPGs).

Can't wait to see what new PC titles they announce.I'm done with Playstation as far as hardware goes.

And they can keep Bloodborne too,no more having my hopes destroyed every new showcase from a company that clearly gives no shit about its fanbase and after seeing what the emulation scene is doing,we'll play it in the emulator in half a year at 4k/60 with even better graphical features.

The emulation scene did more for Bloodborne in these 2 past months than Sony did in 7 years.

On there past SOP, I tried not to expect to much so that I will not be disappointed and yet it was truly disappointing. I will change my mindset. I'm optimistic with this show. I think Sony will not disappoint this time.

On one hand I think mentioning it in any way would be a bit laughable and probably a mistake, but on the other hand if they want to relaunch it as F2P, now would be the time to announce that.

If they show 50% of all games running on PS5 Pro, I'll be happy.

And I know I'm part of the problem, but if they do a wonderful job with HZD Remake, such as bringing the cutscene dialogue to HFW level and implementing RT lighting, they'll earn my $70. Again. HZD was by far the better story and I wouldn't mind double dipping for extensively enhanced technical presentation.

Uncharted V:
prequel with some lost Drake an Sully adventure, going back to the tight corridor shooter gameplay showing off top of the line mind-blowing new graphics engine.

God of War Osiris:
same, going back to the old style, the most extreme boss rush hack and slash, old ass fuck Kratos gets tired of all the nordic bullshit and somehow ends up in Egypt fighting aliens and animal-like gods after discovering a bunch of Stargates inside the pyramid's labyrinth.

Killzone IV:
same, some sort of total Killzone II reboot. This one has real life graphics. Like totally real.

You better not fuck it up again Sony, or else....

Edit: The State of play ends with a teaser of "Team Asobi presents Astrobot Time Machine". From now on all Team Asobi's games will have a title like that, ala Hideo Kojima.

Ghost of Tsushima 2! Yes! (I hope… one thing that I am sort of concerned is the art effort to even match the level of polish of the original… with the kind of smooth presentation on the base PS4 it was certainly well optimised and clever but I bet a lot of it was also down to incredible art direction making it look even fancier technically than it might have been. If we think about a sequel on PS5 how would almost 10x of the GPU power and 2x the RAM make their artists life easier especially given the expectations people would have for an hopefully native PS5 only sequel?).

This one seems to be bigger than the last SoP, lasts more than 30mins and more than 20 games. Still miss the big Showcases though.

If Naughty Dog don't show anything now, then they might as well skip PS5 gen and go straight to PS7. Yess, PS seven, not six.

E3-level or TGA-level reveals

The reality:

Some new gameplay footage of previously revealed games, one small surprise, one VR game, and maybe some footage to show off the PS5 Pro.

I think the fact that they're showing around 20 games in a show just over 30 minutes means people should temper their expectations. To be honest I'm hoping this is clearing the decks ready for some kind of all guns blazing showcase later in the year for the 30th anniversary, but that's probably wishful thinking.
