Perfect.

Ghana pls

Done. Already rooting for all African teams. Except for Algeria. Fuck those guys. Which means they'll probably move to the next round.

Colombia or Costa Rica. Maybe Belgium if they get their shit together.

Costa Rica will face Brazil right? Done. Rooting for them since Brazil failed to impress me yet. Colombia faces Uruguay and we all hate those mofos now don't we. So done and done.

Argentina.

Never. Fuck those cunts.

Greece going through was worth it just for the gaf reactions in this thread.

I rather blame ourselves for losing that final than Greece, you don't lose to the same team twice in the same tournament by chance.

they parked the biggest bus I have ever seen

Euro '92! Wasn't even mad that Germany f'd up the final.
That Danish team at least had Peter Schmeichel and Brian Laudrup playing at world-class levels. Schmeichel was a child hero of mine growing up, in freaking Latin American.

Nobody remembers anyone from that 2004 Greek team and none of them did shit anywhere.

So what is the actual argument for it not being a penalty?

The pass is clearly going towards Samaras, who is lining up a shot, therefore he has the ball (we have an actual word for this in Swedish that I can't translate, bollförande), then from behind the CIV-player sticks his knee in so Samaras clips it in the shooting-motion, causing him to trip on his own foot. Foul. Penalty. Case closed.

BUT GREECE! THEY HAVE TO GO OUT!

90% hating on Greece didn't watch the match. Greece was the better team, played better and the penalty was clean.

How can you hate him if you are a Liverpool fan?

I am a Liverpool fan myself, I'm just curious. Sure, he's an asshole off and on the field, but after the football he's played over the last three seasons I just can't hate the guy.

Racist, bitten two players since been on our team and literally begged to leave us at every transfers window.

He embarrasses us and tarnishes our 'sportmanship' like reputation.

Fuck him off for 50mil + Sanchez. Disgrace of a player.

There's probably more to the story to Suarez bite than what you saw. I mean, every player in the world knows that he gets riled easily, so it's probable that the italian defender pestered him through the whole match, little fouls, telling him things about his mother or sister, etc, to get a reaction like that and hopefully a red card (didn't work though). Remember Zidane's headbutt, italian players are not naive, and know this stuff too well.

That doesn't excuse Suarez and he should be sanctioned, but before calling people scum, I think we have to give him the benefit of the doubt.

In a match against Chile, in a qualification match, a chilean player grabbed Suarez by the balls in a corner kick, and Suarez reacted hitting him on the face, which resulted in Suarez's expulsion. Later images showed what really happened.

And obviously, Suarez is very known in the world, so every player knows that if you get him infuriated enough, you'll get a stupid reaction like that.

You do fucking realize this is the third time Suarez has bit an opposing player, right?

You keep saying that yet there are tons of people out there including myself that disagree. But all calls in soccer are black and white, right? Never any subjectivity.

Plenty of subjectivity. Just not in this case. Some fouls are clear-cut, that's all I can say. I thought it was dive myself, at first, but the replay clearly shows contact. Even IC players admitted it.

Did you see the contact with Samaras' left leg? Or are you fucking with me?

Just because there is contact doesn't mean instant foul. This is football, it's bound to have some contact between the players.
Intent (malice) and intensity are factors to decide if it is foul or not.

Intent has very little to do with it unless we're talking cynical fouls and cards.

Clear path to the goal, in the box area, yeah... that's going to be a foul.
Accident or not.

Yep i will admit that Greece played better. The penalty i thought was a bad call because i didn't see him initially trip over the guys leg. Personally i think it was a penalty on replay but that was very difficult call.

I can 100% agree that Ivory Coast got ouplayed.

Watching the game now, how the fuck did Mexican Dracula not look at Chielini's shoulder? He moved away every time he tried to show it to him. I totally agree with you.

I don't think it's something you can review after the fact if you didn't see it take place. Referees are meant to call the game as they see it, they're not forensic investigators.

Again with the victim blaming, you guys are cray cray

It prevented him from pulling the trigger.

I was rooting for ivc but it was a clear pen.

The world remembers Otto Rehhagel though. For better or worse.

The defender moved his leg forward, there was intent. Also just being dumb is enough in some situations.

Intent is a factor in penalty decisions only for handball. For fouls it doesn't matter.

How do you determine intent (malice)? Tie the players to a lie detector?

Samaras was lining up his shot, Sio came from behind and clipped his leg. Intentional or not, that's a bad challenge, thus a pen.

Penalty calls from accidental contact happens all the time. Get over it. Greece won. Democracy won.

Congrats on the win Greek GAF! The best part is that all of you can happily drown yourselves in the salty tears from the haters.

I didn't mean to make it sound any type of contact means foul. It was contact that impeded Samaras from shooting. Same leg and everything.

If Katsouranis doesnt play in defence Greece will go past Costa Rica, if he does then Greece is fucked. Also Gekas and mitroglou should not be in starting squad.

Greece deserved to go through, they played better. Better defence and better chances.

He prevented Samaras from taking a shot and was nowhere near the ball. This is a guaranteed penalty, intent or not.
